    I love the old with the new, that Cunard didn't forget its roots with the black hull and red/black funnels

  • @kate_cooper
    @kate_cooper Год назад +26

    I like the theme naming, how most of Cunard's liners had names ending in IA whilst most of White Star's ended in IC. The distinctive red funnels are rather smart too, the ships look sharply dressed.

      But in the 1930s, they've now adopted a new concept and started naming their flagship liners after her majesty like the queen mary, queen elizabeth and so on and they continued to do so till this day with the recent queen Anne that is under construction right now and its set to debut in 2024.

    Cunard has come a long way from where they began. From the RMS Britannia to the upcoming MS Queen Anne, they stayed alive for more than a century. It all started and ended with Cunard. Nice work, dude and long live the Cunard line.

      Back then, they did cared about speed, just take a look at the Mauretania and the queen mary. They've obtained the blue ribbon for years until the SS United States stole it from them on July 3rd 1952.

      not an expert. But the Cunard lines span a longer time period. So it seems to carry over some classical look into the Titanic period. In contrast, makes the White line look more cookie-cutter. Judging on the exterior only. Time-period eyes might call White Line more modern looking. So it all depends.

So many of them were tragically lost in WWI and WWII ! So sad . The Cunard ships are in a league of their own . Sleek and stylish on the exterior. And elegant and beautiful on the insides !!! I’ve sailed on four of them over the years and am booked on the Queen Anne for her Maiden Transatlantic Voyage in January 2025. Long Live the Cunard Line !!

    Nicely done. The models are terrific!! 2 critiques. I would have loved to see QE2 as built and then a couple of her refits, and you forgot some of little guys: sea Goddesses, Crown Jewel, Dynasty and Monarch. Royal Viking Sun and Sagafjord. Admittedly they are kind of “Cunard by marriage”, but the show the machinations Cunard went through during the 80s-90s. But really beautifully done overall

    Totally missed the 80s. I’m sorry the Sagafjord and Vistafjord are the most important ships for Cunard in the modern era. I know you said you kept some ships out but come on. Starting with the NAC twins turned the company back to a luxury brand. Add the Sea Goddess and the Royal Viking Sun, Carnival erased that history and so did you. In 1983 Cunard was only luxurious in the name. The Norwegian years were the best for Cunard.
