We steam our rice in coconut cream at home. So good and I'm sure you could use the coco water out on your adventures to boil with.
Also , another coconut hack.
When we panko crumb our fish, I like to use coconut cream like you would egg.
Coat the fish in coco cream then straight into the crumb and shallow fry. Delightful !!

A lot of your viewers, myself included, are interested in your adventures as an opportunity to see whether the lifestyle may be possible for us, and what it would take to make it work. I grew up I Tenino. I have family all over that area! I'm up in Alaska though.
we love the Q and A's actually because there is so much that we dont see like all of these chores and it paints a false picture when they dont get mentioned because they are all an essential part of the process that enables you to do this. all the chores cleaning washing editing and anything else is what people want to know as well as all the fun exciting bits.
Well Strict, the hard part is also the best part for us viewers.
Your efforts at editing the videos, make it a treasure for us, who are trapped in our daily routines.
It would be wonderful, to escape to those islands and reefs, fishing and camping, dodging the crocks of course.

Regarding the marriage and children question, I recalled the episode when Jack said something about an announcement and Fran put a little coral ring her finger causing Jack to say "not that." Lol. Wonderful adventures. Great team work. No doubt, it takes a lot to produce these excellent videos with editing but they are worth it for most of us who will never reach the northern coast of Australia. Big TEXAS thank you.
Those crabs are similar to the Dungeness we catch off the west coast of British Columbia. We use the exact same method to identify males or females and follow the same guidelines; We return females and only keep males over a certain size.

Also, want to say your occasional shots of the night sky with so many stars are fantastic. I live near a big city in the US and can only see a fraction of the stars out there. Good Day Strick and Fran from the Heart of Dixie”, I wanted to drop a line and say that I enjoy your show very much and I never miss an episode. I mostly watch on RUclips right now. I believe I’ve been watching you guys for geez maybe a couple years. I enjoy every thing you guys do on the show the cooking, fishing, exploring, spear fishing, crabbing etc. What bothers me is the alligators and I don’t know maybe they have a purpose which I’m sure they do but it might be a good time to teach us about their purpose bc I would not avoid them but teach them whose boss but it doesn’t appear that you have any weapons and that bothers me to bc we don’t go into a wilderness here without them.

Best eating fish I ever ate.
I caught 3 specks on 2 artificial shrimp lures with a cork. The bottom hook went through the gills, and a 2nd fish was hooked seconds later, then the top hook was nailed by another trout. All 3 were keepers. Nice catch, Strick! Well done to Fran also with that monster fish. ❤ Stay safe.

Have you ever tried preserving fish without refrigeration? Here in Indonesia drying, smoking or brining fish is how many villagers preserve fish and it's very popular even among those who have access to refrigeration as it's quite delicious.
