In my opinion, it is one of the greatest songs ever written!!
That was a wonderful discussion. I love Mark and Buddy; they are each so very talented!! I think they are inspirational in the ways each of them deliver the word of God to an audience. I love Mark’s voice and his comedy and I love Buddy’s voice, when he gets the chance to sing, and his harmonica and guitar playing. “Mary Did You Know” is the perfect blending of lyrics and melody!! It is such a beautiful and simple example of using music to tell the story of Jesus Christ. I love this song! Thank you both for combining your writing and musical talents to come up with this musical, gospel masterpiece! You both are angels delivering God’s word. God Bless You!!

The best singer of "Mary do you know?" is Mark Lowrry
The Isaacs (Sonia Isaac) do the 2nd best version of this song. But I do love Mark’s version best. I also have heard Buddy Greene sing the song and it was very good. Both of these can be found on RUclips.

My favorite version is the one where Mark sings with the Gaither Vocal Band. That part where Mark and Guy and David have that amazing harmony always takes my breath away!

I was going to say the same thing. Also the look on David Phelp's face at one time was so touching and tender when Mark was singing.
A few days ago I heard Buddy with his harmonica and Mark singing this together and I thought it was one of the best. First time to hear them together.

My favorite version is Mark with David Phelps and Guy Penrod. Any version that Mark does is a favorite because he gives it the best emotion. Editing because I just downloaded Mark’s and Buddy’s version on iTunes and listened. It is now my favorite!

Such a special song. I am truly grateful for the honor to have shared the stage to perform this piece with both Mark and Buddy on separate occasions. I remember Mark having a bit of a cold that night and asked if I could take the lead and was surprised when our group Valiant did a high vocal arrangement. And with Buddy I was only a teen and my dad had brought he and his wife Vicky to spend a week with us at a summer camp in Canada. So humble the both of them... the real deal behind closed doors.

It gives me chills all over every time I listen to it. And many times the tears are flowing. At the end of the song I experience a wonderful feeiing, a sensational feeling. Jesus is the subject that always comes up in our daily conversation. It only takes a short time before we remember something that Jesus ❤ did for us. He fills every waking moment ⏰ for me. I was 14 when I was a saved. I really cannot remember what life was like without Him. I just know I have always had all of Him that I desired. The thing that is so different now, at 78, is that He gets more of me. How can you not talk about that?

I agree with Mark re Jordan Smith's The Voice performance which was the first time I had ever heard it and it completely slayed me because it flips the entire story by asking Mary all these questions before any of it every happened, instead of preaching it after the fact. So much emotion rose up in me and I cried all the way through it. So brilliant Mark.
Even though this interview was 2 years ago, I am listening to it for the first time 2 years later 3 days before Christmas. On my phone I have saved all the Christmas Gaither specials and a couple of Buddy Green playing the harmonica superbly. Listening to Mark singing "Mary did you know?"
Get started saying this was a very enjoyable interview of three men talking about a wonderful song and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I still can't wait until we're raptured up and we can all be together forever with the Lord. Praise God!!!
I do agree wholeheartedly that if this song can touch our family members hearts who are unsaved and friends and neighbors, then Hallelujah!
What is so powerful is that you can see the hand of God directing brother Mark when he was in his early twenties to write these words down and then at a later date meeting up with Buddy Green and asking him if he could put music to it. And then how many years later doing this interview and talking about how many singers, and some unsaved are singing it and getting it out into the world! That is the power in hand of God Almighty ❣️👑✝️

Such an honor to experience this amazing interview. This should be a historic account of such an awesome gift of song. Thank you, Andy and all your staff and thank you Buddy Greene and Mark for pointing glory to our wonderful Savior, Yashua ha Machiech. And, although, our Anointed One was not really born at this time of year, perhaps many will come to know our true and forever Messiah.
Mary was chosen by God to carry and raise our Savior. You three guys were chosen by God to take the message to the world. The baby grew up into the King of all kings, our Savior and God. Thank God for messengers and music, for priests and prophets, for ordinary children of God, and for children to whom the Kingdom of God belongs.
Thank you, Andy, for another great video. Kenny's version of "Mary Did You Know?" was my first exposure to this iconic song, and I had no idea how long it's been around. It reminds me of the power of The Butterfly Effect in that Buddy & Mark's little song has multiplied for many years worldwide because of all the different artists who've done their version.

Mark needs to give himself more credit for writing the lyrics to Mary did you know. He has told the story too often about his parents putting him to bed and telling him God was going to use him. You’re right too Andy about books, songs, poems etc that have been turned down so people gave up too quickly. I enjoyed this interview, getting Buddy’s voice on it. Mark and Buddy wrote an amazing song and Mark singing it allowed the audience to feel the song when he sung it. Remember Mark, even Jesus had critics.

Mark made the right choice to choose buddy's version.
I love "Mary Did You Know" sung by Mark Lowry. He puts more emotion into this song then anyone else I've ever heard. As far as a group goes, I'd have to say Mark singing lead and David Phelps, Guy Pen rod and Bill Gather. No one can do harmony on that song than those four!! Just my opinion.

Kathy Matea does an amazing cover of this song. Buddy and Mark had a silent co author in the form of the Holy Spirit when their talents combined to write this song.

I highly recommend you watch Dallas Jenkins’ short film “The Shepherd” to see the birth story from the perspective of the shepherds. Just go to The Chosen on RUclips and look for “The Shepherd” and then if you haven’t yet watch season 1 of The Chosen.
Great video, and great song...love it! One error from Buddy; he said the Godhead cannot be understood? Romans 1:20 says it is clearly seen and understood. Colossians 2:9...fulness of Godhead dwells in Jesus. John 14:9; when you see Jesus you see the Father!
Mark mentioned there is a mistake in the song. What is it?
Most of the memorable song/hymns are written in a minor key. "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence", "Gabriel's Message", "What Child is This"...all great hymns. But none are as moving as "Mary Did You Know".
