I listed Cheryl & Giles also. You can’t make an all time greatest DWTS pairing list and not have her on here without either Giles or Drew. This list was all over the place.😩🤣
Totally agree. I think I screamed at the TV so much in season 8 because of the judges that I wanted to boycott DWTS if Shawn didn't get her mirror ball trothy at the end. She had great friendship with both of her partners and she took the criticism not only from the judges but when her partners needed too like a pro she is. She should of gotten the mirror ball trophy in All Stars too.
My two favorites are definitely Nyle and Peta they had me in tears when they shut the sound off during one of their performances so you could understand what Nyle was feeling when he danced. Then my equally favorite couple was Derek and Bindi who also brought me to tears at the end of their dance routines Derek displayed a photo of Bindi and her dad Steve as a surprise to Bindi. I balled my eyes out in that episode. Both of these couples were phenomenal and I just loved watching them perform.
Mark Ballas and Page VanZant, the wrestler, they were extra fabulous. They had several truly memorable dances & were great throughout the season. Mark always liked to dance on the edge & always produced extraordinary dances.
Amber Riley deserves to be on here and Nyle DeMarco should have been way higher up on the list considering he couldn't even hear the music he was dancing to.
My all-time favorites are still Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke. That man's smile and charisma still get me. (Can you tell I stopped watching the show ages ago? 😆)
NO! You act like only the last few seasons matter! You missed one of the best couples of all -- Hélio Castroneves and Julianne Hough in season 5. Pick any performance, and we were all in love!
Milo Manheim was 17. I repeat 17. And he had to LEAD in 8 difference dance styles, smiling and having a good time. Can anyone name another 17 yr old male that can do that? Over 90% said he should have won.

Didn't one of the judges say, after the group dances with the four final couples in Donny Osmond's season (s9), that he momentarily forgot that there weren't four professional dancers, because of how well Donny matched with the three pros? The four finalists were Donny and three women celebs. Or maybe it was during the week 7 team tango with two other celebs, but again both women, but I'm pretty sure that the comment was made -- just can't find the video.
Meryl and Max Ruled, Val did a great Tango with her too. Zendaya and Val would be my #2 and for #3 it would be Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas #4 Rumor and Val

I think Sharna and Noah should've had an honorable mention at least. As someone who had his arm and leg amputated and still made it to third place was amazing. He and sharna were great together and their freestyle/contemporary always touched my heart
I agree thr list is incomplete without Cheryl. And I have to add without Amy Purdy and Derek. I mean seriously! She was a double amputee!! And never receive any score lower than an 8 from the judges. Her performance average of 27.9 out of 30 is among the top ten of the highest ever on the show's history (with Davis' 28.4 average being the highest ever). It was mind boggling to watch!! And Derek showed amazing skill and innovation in working around issues! Max had always been my favorite male professional for his skill in the sexy latin ballroom dances but I really liked Derek as a kind and encouraging teacher who consistently got results and worked amazingly well in some really challenging situations. He reminded me of my music teacher who took on teaching me a musical instrument despite severe hand deformities and we found a way. I'm not saying they should be on the list because of her physical handicap, because that is just the uplifting icing on the cake when knowing what was being overcome but they deserved to win based on routines alone. If you didn't know her story and just watched the dances you would never have guessed. Truthfully, though these are so many brilliant couple, and it's not that I think anyone you choose didn't deserve to get the kudos but there were several pairs that deserved it more.

how could you have missed derik and amy purdy . their 3rd dance still brings tears to my eyes. there will nevr be another pair that will come close to what they accomplished !!
I get why Meryl & Maks got the top, though I could argue several other couples. But to not have Shawn & Derek in at least the top 3 is nuts. Cheryl & Giles or Drew, Mario & Karina, Amber & Derek, Maks & Mel B…like…this entire list was a head scratcher. It started off bad ranking Julianne & Apollo at freaking 18. No Helio listed. And Normani any lower than top 5 is criminal. You’d do better to break these type of lists up by the two decades. Imagine not having one Cheryl Burke couple on a greatest DWTS couple pairing list. Insanity. 😩🤣
I can see why all of those couples made the list, but my favorites are Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya, followed by Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson Herjavec.
No Shawn Johnson and Derek or Mark? No Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani? They actually danced not one season but TWO seasons, finished third and WON the freaking ALL STAR season. They should have been on this list.
JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson had some fabulous dances--many routines had perfect scores! Choreography was out of this world! Costumes and performances were sizzling hot! Great female pairing!
I realize you're afraid of being accused of recency bias, but leaving Charli D'Amelio and Mark Ballas off this list is ridiculous. D'Amelio is a generational dancer.

Right. No disrespect, but PETA and James had no business being on this list. Hell, PETA and Tommy were far better and he was in his 70’s if I remember correctly. I don’t believe that just cause some couples were champs they should’ve ranked high. I love Val, but outside of Lauren his best two couples wer the ones he lost with-Zendaya & Normani. To me, he and Rummer should’ve been in the bottom half, whereas Normani should’ve been top 5. Same thing w/Jennifer Gray. She did great but Derek has had far better pairings than her. This list was a bit too recent. It definitely should’ve included couple like you’ve listed.
I stills go back to this day 8/18/24 to watch Maks and Meryl! So thrilled to see them as #1. But all of these dancers were spot on. Maks and Meryl stole America’s hearts! Was so deserving!!!
Donny Osmond was my all-time favorite. He may not have been the best dancer, but his electric personality and his joy were so infectious. And he did win.
Bindi and Derek and Jordan and Lindsay are my top two in either order. And your number one of Meryl and Maks did not surprise me, but they were not my favorites at all. She was one of those stars who had dance experience and I always thought it was an unfair advantage. Sad to hear of Len's passing. RIP
I think that Jennifer Grey did so wonderfully and it was so good and respectful how much she dedicated her performance in remembrance towards her ‘Dirty Dancing’ costar Patrick Swayze
