hey Chris, I tried this huge climb the other day and it works!! i just had to push for the last third on the way up to pipeline. lol but it is a great shortcut to all major trails!
Was at silvan yesterday road bakers dozen and twisted sister only to arrive at the top an find all the tracks taped off because of fuel reduction burns. There was a bit still smouldering so i was disappointed but not entirely surprised
Thanks for this video mate. Just what I needed! It's the way I went up when I parked at the football oval too, I was just hoping there was a better way 😭
Really handy video, thanks for doing this. I was parking at the footy oval and going up Pipeline Oval Link. I followed your advice today and found it gave better access (I walked up that really steep spot though). Still had a little trouble getting onto Bakers Dozen and was guided by a kid in grade 6! Managed a run of Temple of Temple of Zoom and To the Valley Below. Don't know your thoughts, and no disrespect to Temple of Zoom but To the Valley Below is a much much better track and I feel like much better reward for a pretty brutal climb. I find the folk up at Silvan very friendly and helpful! Keep the videos coming!
Cheers Paul, They are both very different trails, I do love the faster sections of Temple of zoom and tricky to get some of the switchbacks on point. To the valley is a little more technical and a heap of fun. Check out my latest video, rode it on a very sketchy day not realizing how slippy it would be.
I would if I knew how ha ha. Wow 😮 thanks for the insight Chris, never knew you could start there. I usually head through the youth camp. Lol at 1:45 spinning the wheels
She is a nasty climb ha ha, probably faster to walk it!
Really Helpful video mate. Thanks
Cheers mate.
I wonder if YV MTB have ever thought about putting some signs in and adding missing tracks to Trailforks.

Its a killer of a climb haha
My mate literally lives in the area, to get to silvan from his house you go to the top of his driveway and jump the fence and your there
I would love to live that close! Awesome

Yeah I rode up bakers to find the other end taped off , whoops. Hence why I wasn't able to show the full trip to the top in this video.

Glad to hear you puffing a bit mate, I was beginning to think you and Andrew were robots
Ha ha, it happens occasionally for me. Not so much for Andrew lol. Maybe he is a robot.
Good case study for why get an eMTB. 😁 Any chance you can drop in a Strava GPS plot for lesser known trails like these?
