VAccines Trick our immune System to learn about the pathogens by presenting them a weaker version, or a part of the pathogen that has been neutralised ( there are morgen forms) so it has an easy fight but learns the same things. So a vaccine gives you the same protection for a lower risk. You get the same symptoms because the body doesnt know that this enemy is not as dangerous and he takes the same defensive steps as normal, but without the risk of you taking severe damage. because you receive a very minor dose of the original virus and it introduces antigens into your body which basically trains your immune system on how to respond so for example with the covid 19 virus having the vaccine doesn’t physically stop you from actually contracting covid 19 it stops you from becoming sick because your body has been introduced to the antigens so it knows how to fight off the pathogens without you dying or having symptoms in the future like think of when you were little if you got chicken pox once you never get it again because your body now knows how to fight the pathogen
It’s a weakened version, only strong enough for your immune system to understand what the virus looks like. That way when you get the real thing your body will be able to get rid of the virus faster and more effectively. Hope this helps
