Yes i agree, if you go listen every album they all are soooo different, the one is more in a depressed mood like breaking up with a loved one, and like the last one is different and very happy ^^
You are lucky to actually have the opportunity to see such great musicians on a regular basis. I would have loved to attend that festival in Belgium (?). As with a previous poster, Toronto and Montreal are too far away for me. As for Xandria, they make some really enchanting, and high quality, music. It is something uniquely different from the pop, R & B, rap, and hip-hop that we are inundated with in NA. In short, it is a breath of fresh air.
i saw them last year on MFVF(Metal female voices fest) a great festival with all kinds of metal band's with female fronts, awesome ^^ to bad it's only 1 or this year 2 days. i wanted to see them last week here in holland, but couldnt make it :(
Does anyone know is the melody at the very beginning and recurring through the song their original or taken from somewhere else? It sounds so annoyingly familiar but it also could be that I have heard this song earlier already without remembering it :D

I've had faith both in Tristania and Nightwish when they chose a new singer and none of them has disappointed me yet, so I want to have faith in this band, too. But I'll stay miss Lisa, now...and forever.

i would say i guess female fronted metal or symphonic metal most people call everything with a female high voice "goth(ic) metal" but reel gothic is very different if it comes to singing but there are sooo much styles people scream out to a band, but i just stick to what the band itself would say :)
AF's music is amazing. Fuck the critics. They don't know shit. I recommend Emphasis or Energize Me as a start. For Lacuna, any one will do. Anette's voice is amazing. Listen to their new single, Eva. It's a slow song, but her voice is beautiful.

Well yes you are right about that, but to be honest there aint much unique band around anymore everything is a copy of another band imo .. theres just to much of the same. They might be a copy, but they copied and improved it, So i dont really mind to be honest. =)
