That speaks to me especially after dealing with a terrorizing roommate. He moved out 2 years ago, thankfully. The time he was in the house was a living hell for me and I constantly felt unsafe. I even considered pressing hate crime charges. Truth be told, I don't actually hate him. There's no excuse for what he did to me but I'm not the kind of person who is intentionally rude or malicious to others. I hope that he learns for the better.

@@sreyen1065 Thank you. It took me a very long time to get to where I am today, with thanks from my best friend and certain family members. No, I am not dating now. I was with someone for 2 yrs a few years back, but he had his own demons and he has since passed. You will get thru this too. I don't know if I'm a good person to ask for advice because I do not trust men. Mine too would lie to me, promise not to do it again and then turn around and do it again. Last straw came when he got her pregnant. So, I have no trust. Your boyfriend obviously doesn't want to give his ex up. Which isn't fair to you. Or your children, if you have any with him. But you could always gather as much evidence, like text messages or anything else, as you can and show her husband. As for should you stay with him or not...I can't make that decision for you. You will have to think really hard and decide if you will be able to ever trust him. But if there has been any talk of marriage, don't do it until you know for sure. My best of luck to you and I hope things turn out alright. We are Survivors!

@@sreyen1065 you are very welcome. It may take time, but you will get there. It took me a very long time. Even after I divorced him, I still had him in my life. He was like an addiction. He was all I knew since I was 14 yrs old. He has done a lot of horrible things to me and my kids. Finally last year I said enough, and broke all ties with him. It was hard. But after that many yrs, and 23 of them we were married, if I can do it, I know you can. The good thing is, is that you're not married. So you won't have to go thru a divorce. There is nothing for you to be ashamed of. It is he who is cheating, not you. And if you have really good friends who are true friends and love you and family who really love you, they should not judge you if you tell them. They should stand beside you and help you thru this. You'll get there. Be strong.

I bring up Ashanti because she came out the gate with #1 hits, was on a record label called Murder Inc. (big clue) and they even made her adapt Aaliyah's moniker the 'Princess of Hip-Hop and R&B.' Ja Rule stayed calling her the NEW princess. It makes a lot more sense than Beyoncé (who didn't go solo until 2 whole years after Aaliayh died) but people like to shoehorn her into this because Jay Z happened to know Aaliyah due to Damon Dash and ended up dating Beyoncé later lol. Aaliyah was dead one month and Ashanti not three months later was in everyone's face with unprecedented chart records. I think people forget about that because she didn't fully go according to plan. Feds did a sweep of Murder Inc. and all the plans they had for her was foiled.
I am so grateful to have gone through early adulthood (18-20) with Destiny’s Child as role models! I am now 40 some, got rid of the scrub and survived a lot more!

This song came out when I was in the middle of my battle with cancer when I was 5 or 6 years old and I’ve loved it ever since. Now that I’m older and have dealt with traumatic loss, depression and toxic relationships I say this lyric to myself everyday and can appreciate it more. It hits different at 26.

I was with someone for 2 yrs a few years back, but he had his own demons and he has since passed. You will get thru this too. I don't know if I'm a good person to ask for advice because I do not trust men. Mine too would lie to me, promise not to do it again and then turn around and do it again. Last straw came when he got her pregnant. So, I have no trust. Your boyfriend obviously doesn't want to give his ex up. Which isn't fair to you. Or your children, if you have any with him. But you could always gather as much evidence, like text messages or anything else, as you can and show her husband. As for should you stay with him or not...I can't make that decision for you. You will have to think really hard and decide if you will be able to ever trust him. But if there has been any talk of marriage, don't do it until you know for sure. My best of luck to you and I hope things turn out alright. We are Survivors!

@@sreyen1065 you are very welcome. It may take time, but you will get there. It took me a very long time. Even after I divorced him, I still had him in my life. He was like an addiction. He was all I knew since I was 14 yrs old. He has done a lot of horrible things to me and my kids. Finally last year I said enough, and broke all ties with him. It was hard. But after that many yrs, and 23 of them we were married, if I can do it, I know you can. The good thing is, is that you're not married. So you won't have to go thru a divorce. There is nothing for you to be ashamed of. It is he who is cheating, not you. And if you have really good friends who are true friends and love you and family who really love you, they should not judge you if you tell them. They should stand beside you and help you thru this. You'll get there. Be strong.

@@plopidrahtis7023 if we really wanna go the conspiracy route then Aaliyah was likely sacrificed for Ashanti's success. Beyoncé was in a group during Aaliyah's tenure and they were never direct rivals. They weren't even in the same commercial bracket (DC was much more successful in the states and abroad). I bring up Ashanti because she came out the gate with #1 hits, was on a record label called Murder Inc. (big clue) and they even made her adapt Aaliyah's moniker the 'Princess of Hip-Hop and R&B.' Ja Rule stayed calling her the NEW princess. It makes a lot more sense than Beyoncé (who didn't go solo until 2 whole years after Aaliayh died) but people like to shoehorn her into this because Jay Z happened to know Aaliyah due to Damon Dash and ended up dating Beyoncé later lol. Aaliyah was dead one month and Ashanti not three months later was in everyone's face with unprecedented chart records. I think people forget about that because she didn't fully go according to plan. Feds did a sweep of Murder Inc. and all the plans they had for her was foiled.

I am so grateful to have gone through early adulthood (18-20) with Destiny’s Child as role models! I am now 40 some, got rid of the scrub and survived a lot more!
I have 4 chronic illnesses and it's hard to get out of bed every day. But as long as God keeps waking me up, I know He's not through with me. So I'm just gonna keep living as best as I can.
