I need to test hi pot for transformer 22kv /430 v Dyn11 3.36mva How to apply primary R Y B short and inject test volate Secondary RYBN short and Ground Hi pot return wire connwction also connected to ground Is that correct way to do hi pot.. My doubt is if we doing stability in transformer we applying 415 V in primary and we donshort insecondary its creat huge current... As same we in hi pot when i am going to inject hevy voltage is not a dangerous? Pls clarify
Hipot test we do for checking the healthiness of the insulation of transformer, we apply DC voltage and take refrence to the ground. If secondary side is shorted and grounded, current will not flow through secondary since it is grounded.
Switching impulse and lightening impulse are voltage applied momentarily.where as in ac voltage it is applied for 1 minutes.
