The BIGGEST Benefit of Taking T2 Thyroid Hormone

  • T2 is one of my favorite thyroid hormones to take for thyroid patients for 2 very important reasons:
#1. It has benefits all on its own and has weak activity on the T3 receptor but in addition to this...
#2. It can help to stabilize T3 levels by putting upward pressure on the thyroid conversion pathway.
Taking T4 puts downward pressure on thyroid hormone conversion and taking T2 puts upward pressure on the same system and guess what's stuck in the middle? T3.
So taking T2 can actually help your T3 thyroid hormone levels.
And what's even better? T2 is available as an over-the-counter supplement whereas T3 and T4 require prescription medications to get.
T2 thyroid hormone is available as 3,5 diiodo-l-thyronine and can be taken in supplement form in conjunction with all thyroid medications including levothyroxine, synthroid, armour thyroid, np thyroid, and adthyza.

I have been taking thyroid medications for 30 years due to an enlarged thyroid. And over the past year I have been dealing with hypothyroid. I have increased my Armour thyroid and am taking it sublingually, but my labs currently show my T3 Uptake and Free Thyroxine Index are both below normal...all other levels are normal. I'm stumped!

Hello Westin .. Can you take T2 along with T3 and get the energy, weight loss benefits etc that you mention rather than just T4&T2?? .. I wrote a very long winded reply to another video of yours and in that I explained that I heavily convert Levo to RT3 and therefore I also use T3 … Can adding T2 to my dose of 100mg Levo + 75mg T3 be beneficial for my Hashimoto’s and how absolutely disgusting it’s making me feel lately although my labs all sit nicely in range??

If I have great conversion of T4 fo T3 and optimal labs:
TSH: 0.01 (likes to suppress on NDT)
    Free T4: 15
    Free T3: 4.5-4.9
But issues with reverse T3: 19 (this was taken prior to going on thyroid hormone when I had first found out I have hypothyroidism - levels above 15 have been said to cause issues), would T2 help me?
When my thyroid is optimal, I feel great and do not feel as though I have symptoms. The thing is, I've never actually been here with my health before. I've never felt as if I've had enough thyroid hormone. Maybe I will see greater benefits from tweaking my medication.

Anyway, I bought your T2 and am about to Strat experimenting with it. My question: if this is too much, will I develop hyper symptoms as If I were taking too much synthoid? It's such a shame in the uk you cannot get T2 anywhere which is awful because I have suffered with hypothyroid since the birth of my last daughter 34yrs ago . Always had weight problems since then up and down , nhs in uk are not very helpful with caring for thyroid patients most have to seek help with private doctors. Very rarely they perscripe T3 because of expense. I sorce my own T3 and now have a private doctor that specialises in thyroid. I will question him about this T2 as I definitely would like to try it . Out of 34 yrs of thyroid problems, only 3 years I felt so good and lost weight was on Ndt, which I sourced myself then came Lockdown could not get Ndt doctors over in uk will not perscripe it saying its unreliable and that is from endocrinologist not a gp. So basically, it's awful in the uk for thyroid patients.

After giving birth, I had mild iodine deficiency, which led to one thyroid nodule, five fibroids, and breast fibrocysts. I took 5% Lugol's iodine for a year and applied it generously. All my symptoms disappeared. At the end of one year, I developed hard swellings in all the lymph nodes in my throat, and my salivary glands got infected. I can't even touch any iodine-related substance to my body anymore. Antibiotics didn't help either. I haven't taken any Lugol's iodine for 9 months now, and when I went for a check-up this month, I found out that I have 5 thyroid nodules on both sides that have grown rapidly. They weren't there in the previous check-up three months ago. My current TSH is 0.83, T3 is 2.39, and T4 is 1.06. Does this mean my T2 hormone has increased too much, and what do I need to balance it? Please, tell me what to do. I'm afraid of cancer and surgery!!
