As a legacy GoodNptes 4 user who upgraded to 5, I hate the new pricing. I will probably move to Notability or Noteful as soon as they remove the GoodNotes 5 mode.....
Someone else said goodnotes 5 could be removed ? I find this subscription based model to be annoying and I’m not doing it. I can more than afford it but I hate how everything is going towards that because all these subscriptions eventually add up and it becomes a ton of money spent per month. I hate subscriptions and I like “owning” things instead. I don’t see why they would remove goodnotes 5 if we already paid for it. This is so stupid. If they do remove it, I’m going back to notability because I was grandfathered into it and don’t have to pay monthly bc I had the app in college right before they switched to subscription. So I got lucky there. Goodnotes should take NOTES on how Notability did that and doing something for long term customers

Wouldn't be surprised if the increases of a lot of AI in writing apps/sites would mean more people switching to analog for people that don't like AI, especially for school/college classes (save for some exceptions, like with having neurodiversity and/or learning disabilities that makes writing apps/sites essential).

I promised myself I would only update my GN5 if they released a dark mode version for pdfs and I cant believe they still haven't!! I'm a literature student, all I do 24/7 is reading and annotating, my eyes get so dried and tired so I would love a dark mode to read my books :(
I can see how this is better for actual notetaking in school settings, but for me where I use gn5 for mostly jotting down things at home, I’m content with not upgrading. I do like the more cuter style of the icons in gn6 tho

There is no way to ensure that the digital product is fully „returned“ when requesting a refund, which is why most sellers entirely omit that and it is legally allowed. :)

I have never used Goodnotes and this was one of the best videos I have seen so far! I am going to use it for my nclex studying because I do not want to do physical cards, too much to do.

When I drw a curve and I hold it, it bcomes a perfect curve with three dots to adjust it. I would like the Option to ad dots. I had to draw sinus curves and always had to make them out of pieces. Ore did I miss something?
Your timing was perfect in regards to GN 6, Rina. What are your thoughts on GN 6 overall? I’ve heard some grumblings from a few who are not happy with GN 5 so aren’t interested in paying for GN 6. So far I haven’t had any problems working with either 5 or 6, so plan to pay the one time fee to upgrade. Thank you
I like the new features overall, especially the scribble to erase feature. The AI handwriting features, I'd like to see how that develops because you can see how it performs in the video. I mainly use goodnotes for digital planning/journaling but if I were a student who used it for notetaking, then I would find the features even more useful.

Until you accidentally or automatically update…GN for the first time ever did not make a separate app for it’s newer counterpart. I had GN3, GN 4, GN 5. But GN6 is the same as GN5…they claim u can downgrade back to 5 but since they made it the same app u will have glitches and it will keep forcing you to upgrade to 6 @@UPSCMathZone

Unlike the GoodNotes 4 and 5 where they made a “new” app, GoodNotes 6 didn’t. So your GN 5 might glitch, stop working, or you might lose it if you ever get a new iPad

Thank you for the video. I have now concluded that I will not be buying the good notes 6. I am very content with the 5 version. I have realised that as I am preparing for competitive examinations havin the app correct and complete my sentences and help of AI will ultimately lead to a decreased understanding for me, I need to write the correct words and sentences every time to get better. I realised that while I was working a lot on ms word during my masters having the app correct words for me lead to me not caring much about correct spellings and sentence formation. I bought your journal yesterday and pretty new to journaling. I haven't no journal experience and I really don't know where to start, I also have problems with the handwritten to text tool, the keyboard is always in the way and I also bought the realistic handwritten font, but I have to choose the font over and over again with every sentence. I am experiencing huge battery drain on my iPad Air 5 while using Goodnotes6. In about 33 minutes, i lost 15-20% of battery. If i add it up, that would be about 3 hours of use, which isnˋt always enough for a day in school. Did you experience this too?
I have already paid for the one time purchase a couple of weeks ago for DN5, does the upgrade to GN6 cost more money? I don't like the subscription things, that's why I prefer the one time purchase.
Theres a one time purchase for £23.99 if you already bought gn5, in dollars it’s mentioned at the end of the video but they do discount it for 20% for one time payment or 25% for subscription, tho if u plan on using it for less than three years incase something better comes up or want to share documents with non-apple products i’d recommend the subscriptions as its 1/3 of the price for a one time payment.
Sorry that I cannot share the enthusiasm. I don‘t want to upgrade. I don‘t see any advantage that AI has also arrived here scanning your complete work, including one of your most personal thing: your handwriting.This thought even seems to be eerie imho. Many other features would have been much more urgent to implement. GN have widely failed to really do what they should have done I think.

My biggest problem with it now is when it tries to recognize my equations and make a mistake I can't edit the equation. Either I'm missing something or they have not really implemented this. I mean if I could tap the equation and it shows a LaTeX equation for me to edit it would be fine but I guess it's not yet implemented?

I write in multiple languages, so to see red lines under every sentences or words that is not in English would be very frustrating to me. Also, I like to doodles and scribbles on top of other words, or objects, so it would be bad if it erase it, can the scribble feature be disabled? I don’t know.
How do you change fonts when handwriting? I love handwriting my notes and want to do it on good notes but can only seem to change the fonts when typing
Go to Settings and tap 'Apple Pencil', then turn 'Scribble' on. Tap on Text tool, choose my handwritten font from my shop. You can just put down a text box and start to write, and it'll automatically turn into font 🙂
I used to prefer the iPad but Samsung has gotten so good in recent years, you can do almost everything on the samsung tablet that you can do on the iPad. Homescreen customization is still a bit better on the iPad, and my favorite drawing app procreate is only on iPad, so I guess it comes down to price and what you'll be using it for. My M2 iPad pro that I only had for a year is having some screen dimming issues now, so currently not loving it!
Just a question is good notes available on Samsung because I tried to look for it and I couldn't find it but then again my tablet is kind of old anyways I hope someone can answer my question
Unfortunately, it's not available for the Galaxy Tab ( android ) , so please can you tell us which one can be the same as the Goodnotes app for android? I am using now my galaxy Tab s8 ultra now. Thanks.
Samsung notes is the best. The only thing that it doesn't have is that you can't choose A4 size, but you can use A4 template and it works. No need to pay for stupid notes app.
One thing I’m NOT liking is that it closes your notebooks after exiting the app. I feel like it makes my shortcut to my planner useless because it just brings me to my folders page now.

I think it depends on whether you find the new features useful? I personally really like the scribble to erase tool, it's more convenient than switching back and forth with the eraser

Can you make a version of good notes 6 on the s9 tablet? I believe it was pre-installed and free for the first year for new S9 owners.
I updated my goodnotes to goodnotes 6 but its still not letting me use the features. I even checked what version im using on the app, and it said 6.7.

I write in multiple languages, so to see red lines under every sentences or words that is not in English would be very frustrating to me. Also, I like to doodles and scribbles on top of other words, or objects, so it would be bad if it erase it, can the scribble feature be disabled? I don’t know.

How do you change fonts when handwriting? I love handwriting my notes and want to do it on good notes but can only seem to change the fonts when typing
Go to Settings and tap 'Apple Pencil', then turn 'Scribble' on. Tap on Text tool, choose my handwritten font from my shop. You can just put down a text box and start to write, and it'll automatically turn into font 🙂

I used to prefer the iPad but Samsung has gotten so good in recent years, you can do almost everything on the samsung tablet that you can do on the iPad. Homescreen customization is still a bit better on the iPad, and my favorite drawing app procreate is only on iPad, so I guess it comes down to price and what you'll be using it for. My M2 iPad pro that I only had for a year is having some screen dimming issues now, so currently not loving it!

Just a question is good notes available on Samsung because I tried to look for it and I couldn't find it but then again my tablet is kind of old anyways I hope someone can answer my question

Use samsung notes
Samsung notes is the best. The only thing that it doesn't have is that you can't choose A4 size, but you can use A4 template and it works. No need to pay for stupid notes app.

One thing I’m NOT liking is that it closes your notebooks after exiting the app. I feel like it makes my shortcut to my planner useless because it just brings me to my folders page now.

It is an Apple Pencil, she just changed the tip. There are different ones online. Hope that helps.

@@Stefan51982 Hm, komisch. Ich habe die spanische Version (weil mein IPad auf Spanisch gestellt ist) und dennoch kann ich deutsche Texte paraphrasieren und korrigieren lassen.. Deinstalliere die App vielleicht und lade sie erneut herunter. Könnte möglicherweise daran liegen, dass du irgendwie noch GoodNotes 5 Funktionen hast oder weil, wie du schon erwähnt hast, es nur in bestimmten Ländern verfügbar ist. Was aber ziemlich verwirrend wäre, weil ich ja die GoodNotes 6Funktionen hab und in Deutschland lebe

I think it depends on whether you find the new features useful? I personally really like the scribble to erase tool, it's more convenient than switching back and forth with the eraser
