- Опубликовано: 22 сен 2019
- Performed live at Montreux Jazz Club, Switerzland, Seun Kuti and the Egypt 80 Band delivers a masterpiece of original Afrobeats.
Seun Kuti is the last son of the the legendary pioneer of Afrobeats, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. He inherited the Egypt 80 Band from his father, and has since carried the pan African flavored identity band to perform across Europe, Asia, America and his native continent, Africa.
This is what you call pure Jazz. Seun is carrying on from where the legend Fela stopped.
I love Seun so much still carrying the legacy like baba fela
For me Seun is as close as it gets to Fela Kuti....he is a chip off the block...Seun has lifted the heradlry of the Kuti clan and run with it...his Pop would be so proud....keeping Afro beat alive and anti establishment sentiment...anti white man/middle east religion...an African man. AN AFRICAN MAN.
I love how the sax solo ended with some Colonial Mentality, a beautiful homage, makes my soul smile🥰
Like father like son nice one bro
when you see it had only around 3 and 3.5k clicks but you know it is one of the greatest songs including lyrics, meaning, instruments and performance.
Truth
watching from Africa_Mozambique
Kabiyesi! Like father & son. Incredible song and arrangement. My lane memory with the god father of afro beats late Fela Anikulapo RIP. Kalakuta Republic. Kudos to Seun for his move just like his father.
Run for president, Seun ! !!

Mind blowing, Love everything about Seun and this music. Our heritage!
...that bassline is something else. Full marks.
One of my interesting finds is the CD Red hot + Riot, many good people in tribute to Fela, check it out, the love is well in it, some good words spoken forth.

Son of his father
No one can copy fela just as no one can copy Bob Marley
It's not copying. It's continuation . J.S Bach wasn't the end of the family line. George Clinton's offspring will hopefully extend his legacy.
So painful to see Seun trying so hard to dance like the Chief Priest Fela. He can never get close , Seun dance and songs are just a poor mimicking of Felas stage antics and well choreographed dance moves. Seun should just go ahead and find his own originality . Fela must be shaking his head in disgust with his copycat kids.
I totally disagree with you. This is music in his own style on the foundation laid by great Fela.
You're wrong no one gets fela's style more than Seun
And I can see hatred in your comment
Mimicking is a sign of great respect and in mimicking he will eventually find his own dance style... music and spirit on point tho... much respect to Seun..100% son of the soil....
He has his own, Femi has is own, Fela has his own and now Made has his own..
Seun Felatunde Kuti
Love this! Thanks Seun.
