  • How do you get an idea out of your head and into someone else's so that they can "see" what you're saying? In this enlightening and entertaining talk, Todd Cherches shares his personal story to show how you can change perceptions -- and change the world - through the magic and the power of visual thinking.
Todd Cherches is the CEO & Co-founder of BigBlueGumball, an innovative NYC-based leadership consulting, training, and executive coaching firm, as well as an adjunct professor of leadership at NYU and Columbia. A popular blogger and keynote speaker, Todd is the author of VisuaLeadership: Leveraging the Power of Visual Thinking in Leadership and in Life (Post Hill Press/Simon & Schuster).
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

"I see what you are saying" - Thank you for the perspective. I never looked at it that way. Since our thoughts are in pictures what you are saying makes perfect sense to me.

Just wanted to leave here some quotes from the talk that made quite an impact on me.
    - If you can see the invisible you can inspire others to do the impossible.
    - The real voyage of discovery consists not of seeking new lands but seeing with new eyes.
    -Marcel Proust-
    - If you can't measure it you can't manage it.

So I’m 35 and just now realizing I excel in spatial imagination and generalization, I didn’t do well in school not horrible but aced classes I liked, I started realizing this in high school after an experience with mushrooms! I had just stared feeling funny and a friend and I started a game of pool and for fun because I am not great at it until the mushrooms exaggerated this ability, my friend never got to shoot, I sunk every single solid ball and the 8 perfect game. I was able to see colorful patterns ont the table constantly moving until I took aim and the path would be laid out for my shot!

Todd explains why all of us should use the power of visuals. For leaders in particular, it can help people see our vision and perspective. Super helpful!

This is great! There is a direct link between the way we communicate and the results we get-- your talk reminded me of that. Putting this into practice ASAP. Thanks Todd.
