you are such a blessing. And you're very brave, to jump in to the Torah like you're doing and on camera. You're awesome and fearless and an inspiration. I have no excuse at all for not being as disciplined as you are. Keep up the good work and thank you so much. Much blessings shalom .

There’s no ‘goy’ question. Asking questions is Jewish lol, so you’re doing great.
The thing that is said about the Aramean is quoted every year at Passover by the leader. I’m not completely sure why it’s quoted in that context, but it’s a pretty nice part of the narrative.
I believe the haftarah is part of the consolation passages. Before Tisha b’Av, the haftarot are about the judgments on Israel, but afterwards, until Rosh Hashanah, we have the weeks of consolation, where we’re reminded of G-d’s promise to gather us back together and restore us. I think those passages are linked to the calendar more than each portion, BUT because the portion focuses on a forewarning of things to come, there’s a link with a message of hope.

@@ChrisIsJewish Chris! Thank you so much - that makes so much more sense that the congregation leader would say this speech for everyone. I just could not imagine the Cohen hearing it thousands of times over.
Then the Hafatorot like you said are for consolation which makes sense because they just got more and more intense as we continued thru the Parshayot. Yeah you can see now that you mention it that the Haftarah kinda have a personality as you go along in what they are trying to convey🤔
All these great insights - wow! Keep ‘em coming!
