Just now got to know about this brand😅. Thanks for the review Could you please tell what is the advantages of having a DAP with Android OS like Hiby M300 over Hiby os or others like Hiby R3 G2. Also will the audio bitrate or whatever be down sampled in android DAP just like in android mobiles? Long question new to dap territory
Short answer regarding Android is you can install apps just like a phone - Tidal, Qobuz, PowerPoint etc. The better Android DAPs bypass the subsystem (iBasso dx180) for bit-perfect playback.
I don't get the glass back either. Also wish the volume knob was a function button. The one thing I really liked about the Shanling UP4 was how well the knob/button combo worked in my hand. I'm guessing the shape fits in a pocket better at the expense of viewing. The truncated text trade-off wouldn't be as bad if it showed album art.
You mentioned that running HD650's is a bit of a stretch. Do you think it would be adequate for a pair of HD58X's? Lower impedance than the HD650's, but harder to run than IEM's... thoughts? Great review as always.

Yes, I found myself constantly trying to press the volume knob after using my UP4 and M5s for years.
Nice review as always, new sub👍🏼
Hopefully you'll do a review of Shanling new lineups (M0s, M1s, M1 plus) 🙏
Thanks for the sub!

I think it would be fine for the HD58X in high gain.
Looks pretty decent.
Although not mentioned it is evidently running Hiby OS.
Glass back for bluetooth transmission
Shanling has a dap at the same Price, with much nicer os.
Hifi walker must be smoking something,Shanling m1 plus is cheaper with double the power.Fiio jm1 is cheaper with double the power and android 13.😅
