I’ve had a Ryujin T10 shinogi zikuri from SBG for 2 years now and I practice with it for Eisin Ryu kenjutsu. They are kinda light in weight but like you stated that you received it within about a week. Good swords.
Thanks for the review. Seems to be a perfect middle-of-the-road budget katana. Indeed having it assembled in the US and ship quickly is definitely one of the advantages, although sometimes some Chinese forges that sell directly shipped in-stock items really fast too, yet you will pay a lot more on shipping.
Wait and lack of communication solved. I ordered one two days ago and received email communication tat it was shipped today. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on it!
@@alientude So, I received the sword last week. I am not a sword expert, but I am satisfied with the purchase except for one thing. There is a warning sticker on the box that states the sword is for decorative purposes only, which I found disappointing. I purchased the product under the impression that it was a fully functional brand new katana. I shrugged it off as the company limiting their liability against idiots, but the seed of doubt has been planted. With that said, it SEEMS to be a good quality piece of gear. I have not, nor do I intended to try cutting anything with it, but it is nice and sharp and sturdy. I have been practicing RUclips Iaido with it and it is as fun as it looks. The thing is pretty awesome. If it weren’t for that stupid warning sticker introducing an element of doubt, I would say it is a must have.
I'm not really a fan of the Ryujin stamp, and if I succeeded at disassembling the katana, I probably would have tried sanding it off...or at least reversing the seppa so I didn't have to see it. Not a big deal, just a small annoyance to me.
Nice sword. Have had that same kashira. It's held down by a central tab/fin rather than seating around the core as most do, which sucks because it looks really good. Think you could do without the intro disclaimer? Gives the video a clone feel. Maybe you just put it in as an homage.
I literally sand all my swords blade with 1500 then 2000 grit when I first get them so remove the "mirror finish" I like the textures, patterns and character a light, fine grit sanding gives the blade also for modern steel 1095 is more than sufficient especially if it's hardened properly even good 1060 is fine for light cutting but requires sharpening more often but if you don't mind the slight bit of extra maintenance 1060 is just fine and will last if you care for it properly.
Also I recommend Swords Of Northshire still as they offer a great customization selection with very good quality at a nearly unbeatable price and you usually get your sword in less than a month.
You can't get the sword anymore so I mean it's a pretty sword but it's you can't get it anymore cuz they're sold out thats like showing me a piece of bubblegum and then saying they don't make bubblegum

Good point on the shipping cost. I think the SBG store charged me $20 for shipping, which is certainly a whole lot cheaper than the price from China!
On antique swords, these are called Naginata bohi, and they pretty much always start above habaki like your sword, rather than under it.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on it when you receive it!

Nice review. That’s cool how they stamp their name on seppa, even though it also says “China”,lol

Good review!

Or MiniKatana for both "battle ready" and dull anime replicas.
