Have English, Welsh and Irish blood- love everywhere but Wales has a place in my heart as does the Lake district 🇬🇧🏴🏴( wish she attempted to pronounce the place names properly)
An Englishman's comment. I'm very fond of Wales. Could I warn you that the narrator has no idea of the Welsh language at all, so she butchers many of the place names? One of the most interesting things to do in Wales is to try to find out about the Welsh language - utterly different from English - and still spoken as a native tongue by at least half a million people. A little bit of a warning. In West Wales in particular, it rains! That is why the country is so green. Do hike on the Welsh mountains, but respect them. You must have the proper clothing; layering - so you can put on an extra layer if the weather turns nasty - is essential. Mountain Rescue - made up of volunteers - are highly respected, and get very fed up of tourists thinking they can just take a little stroll in ordinary clothing. The dangers are exposure and hypothermia.
Wales Scotland & Ireland would all still be speaking their native languages if it wasn’t for the English who forced their language & customs onto each of the Celtic nations. In Scotland it was even worse Scot’s weren’t even allowed to dress in the own clothes instead they outlawed the wearing of traditional highland clothes & the British army adopted wearing highland clothes.
I'm Welsh, and a native speaker of it and I come from THAT village, the one with the second longest name in the World, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. Wales is sadly overlooked, but my one piece of advice to you is if you speak to anyone born in Wales DO NOT call them English. It's like mistaking a Californian for a Texan. In closing you'll love it in Wales, just take your time when your here to soak in the history, the culture, the language and the views.
Wales is stunningly beautiful, im Welsh guess I'm a little bias lol, but I'm not wrong as you can see from the video that you are reacting too. I'm from Swansea ( pronounced swanzee) & still live here have done all my life. Wales has 600 castle in total, some are fully intact and some are ruins, Swansea has a castle ruin in the local town centre on a street called castle street. 🏴

On my wife's login... We live about 20 miles from the Welsh border, in a beautiful part of England called the Wyre Forest. We're soon moving to Wales and I can't wait ! Be aware that Wales has it's own language and culture (hence the place names ). It really is stunning, but I don't think the video does it justice. Without thinking I could give you another 20 places that might equal most of those listed here. But if you like greenery , mountains and wildness... Just look at a map of Scotland... Look at all the empty spaces, lochs, mountains and rivers. It's vast, and stunning , with a very low population density. Also worth a look.
I live in Llangollen, I regularly camp and cook bbq at the castle and ride my dirtbike in the surrounding mountains and forests, lovely place to live , that's why I make a few outdoors videos here👍

And yes the video you were commenting on was narrow in scope and the AI was horrid. But I enjoyed your reactions nonetheless.

It’s a truly beautiful country and my fathers family stretch back (ancestry research) 1000 years (since records began) in southern Wales, and some are still in the area to this day
While driving through a random country road in South Wales about 10 years ago, I saw what looked like a house with the sign "Biggest Fish & Chips in the world" (or something like that) out front. That got my attention, so we turned round and went in. Not only was the fish huge, it was the best fish and chips I've had in my life. If anyone has any idea where that could have been, please comment.
If you go onto a translation website you well get the proper pronunciations of Welsh towns. Llangollen is not pronounced in the way the robot narrator on the video pronounced it. Nor is Caernarfon pronounced in the way it was pronounced. You might enjoy a video on the Welsh language. In Wales all the road signs are written in both Welsh and English and it is interesting to see how the two languages compare. They are very different. Caldy Island's monastery is run by Trapists monks, the ones who don't speak unless it's essential. You can get there easily from Tenby.
You should check out the llyn peninsula in North Wales, Abersoch, Sarn, Llanbedrog, Porth Ceiriad, Porth Neigwl, Aberdaron, Porthor beach, and lots more, an absolutely stunning area with views to die for. It should be at the top of the list for anyone Visiting Cymru (Wales).
I live in Harlech, 2 mile beach in front of me, stunning mountains behind, historic castle and a view of mt Snowdon. You can get lost in the beauty up here, come visit.
If ever you come and want more than London. I suggest to get yourself set up Central. I live near Liverpool. From here you can visit North Wales and visit Snowden, Chester with its Roman stonework. Angelsey and all its Beautifull cliffs. From Liverpool you can visit Manchester, York, The Lakes, Witby and see all the countryside on its way. All these places can be visited within a day. A long day, But is possible. The Trains will take you nearly anywhere here. Could hire yourself a small car if needed.
If you visit, bring an umbrella. It's soggy around here. Also be aware of our national blood sport, which is to get non-Welsh people pronouncing our place names. As an example I give you Llwchwr.
I live in South Wales the video falls short it does not show the Gower peninsular there are better videos of Wales look them up and yes Wales is beautiful

I have visited Wales many times and yes it is beautiful but so is a lot of the UK. The North East, Durham and Northumberland are the least recognised and possibly the least touristed areas. They are missing out Weardale and Teesdale are outstanding. The Northumberland coast is stunning. Is is cooler than the south by a few degrees. But that can be a bonus

In Welsh, the double-L sound (which occurs twice in _Llangollen_ ) is very difficult for a non-speaker; you can approximate it by saying -THL-).
The pronunciation on the video is awful
Nah for a non native to get it close the pronunciation all they need to is pretend they have a lisp.
To say "Ll" in Welsh, try saying s then put your tongue behind your top teeth.
Yes i'm from Wrexham North Wales .... Thanks for the video
Proud 🏴 Welsh woman here 👋 love Wales, live in the Capital..Caerdydd (Cardiff) and yes we also have a castle 😊
I live in Harlech, 2 mile beach in front of me, stunning mountains behind, historic castle and a view of mt Snowdon. You can get lost in the beauty up here, come visit.
I'm from Wales😁
If ever you come and want more than London. I suggest to get yourself set up Central. I live near Liverpool. From here you can visit North Wales and visit Snowden, Chester with its Roman stonework. Angelsey and all its Beautifull cliffs. From Liverpool you can visit Manchester, York, The Lakes, Witby and see all the countryside on its way. All these places can be visited within a day. A long day, But is possible. The Trains will take you nearly anywhere here. Could hire yourself a small car if needed.
Snowdon is in Canada. Yr Wyddfa is in Wales.
If you visit, bring an umbrella. It's soggy around here. Also be aware of our national blood sport, which is to get non-Welsh people pronouncing our place names. As an example I give you Llwchwr.
I live in Wrexham, about a 15 minute drive from llangollen. Wales is beautiful.

Lived here all my life 50 years and there is nowhere better but I may be biased.
I'm on the south Wales coast, I'm about 10 miles from Cardiff
As a SC girl living in the UK, do NOT pass up Whitby! It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve been since moving here 4 years ago! Also, Bamburgh Castle! And if you go to the Southwest…. Do not miss Kynance Cove !
I live close to Conwy castle
Me too. It’s on my shopping route
@@sallyannwheeler6327 and me . Tesco
I'm from Cymru...the correct name for Wales. I am a fluent Welsh language speaker.
Thanks for your piece on Wales.
Diolch i ti.
Anytime you want a tour, come over, free stay and I'll take u on tour
❤🏴👍
I have visited Wales many times and yes it is beautiful but so is a lot of the UK. The North East, Durham and Northumberland are the least recognised and possibly the least touristed areas. They are missing out Weardale and Teesdale are outstanding. The Northumberland coast is stunning. Is is cooler than the south by a few degrees. But that can be a bonus
I'm from welshpool in mid Wales (it's referred to as the gateway to mid Wales) we have a castle (powis castle) a little fact for you Wales has more castles per square mile than any other country in the world (a couple of hundred) we used to be quite rebellious 😊
Wales is VERY green. Mostly because it rains a lot!!! LOL
I'm from Wales watching you, in Swansea in the south 😊
Hi! Thanks so much for watching 😊
Tolkien said Wales inspired him to write lord of the rings, he even learned some Welsh.
I do like Wales and have visited often with the children, our favourite place to go was the Lake District for real beauty.
🧐Think you should refrase that! From a Welsh Native
