“Sit down in the boat for minute and take a deep breath.” This is so important when things aren’t going well. I have had so many days, where i do just that and stand up with a new attitude or perspective and start whacking them. Great advice, Randy!
This is helpful, Randy. Thank you. Went out last Friday and caught several including a 7 pounder; went out this past Monday and didn’t get one bite in 4 hours. I feel like a rank amateur on days like that.
Great video Randy! I think sometimes people move out of a great spot because they fished it one bait and getting no bites they think its time to go. I have found that sometimes, like you said, a change up is in order. The fish are there, its just a matter of taking time to find out what they want. Good luck to you in the tournament!
Great advice. I recently located some fish on a secondary point, but could not get a bite. I moved the boat up on the shallow side of the point and started dragging a football jig uphill. At that point, I started catching them.
Good stuff Randy!! One thing I'd like to add is, when fishing points with fish on them, change angles. Instead of casting to the bank cast away from it or from the sides. Good Luck this weekend.
I usually run into that issue in the late fall and early spring here in the north. When that ice is just coming off, or about to start forming, it can be so hard to find a bite sometimes.
With a lot of thought on this, sometimes for whatever reason the fish will stage just outside the creeks. This doesn't happen every year but it does happen. I've seen them suspend in 10 over 20' like they're waiting on something to happen. Maybe in desperation give it a whirl.
Could trolling be a good way to find biting bass? It doesn't seem popular but it should work for suspended fish or schooling fish chasing bait. You could drag a couple or few different lures at the same time to see what works. I don't know, I'm a saltwater guy learning about freshwater.
Heading down to Kimberling city next month for my annual 2 week fishing trip even though the fishing pressure has increased in the last 30 years I still manage to catch plenty of fish but stay away from Indian point and all those nuts lol 👍🏻
I like trying to figure things out at a new place and I don't use any electronics.I was suprised when some big name bass anglers would get skunked at a tournament. I didn't know it happened to them too.
I would love to get me(own) a MHX rod 2 piece heavy baitcaster rod but i don't have a clue how to build one is there anywhere or any way that I can buy one already built ready to put a real on and go fishing I would appreciate it a lot if you get back at me I really enjoy watching your shows and take some good advice that you give so thank you you have a nice day
Good video, but Randy does say one REALLY dumb thing..."bass fishing is the toughest sport in the world"...that is total nonsense. I get where he is coming from as a bass pro, but as a multispecies angler who has been at it since the 70s, bass is actually one of the easiest species to target. In fact, lots of times when other species are being difficult, I know I always have bass to fall back on as they are almost a guarantee to catch a few even on a tough day.
I disagree bass are one of the easier fish to catch. They aren't musky or flatheads. Also trolling is the best search method. It seems to me Grand lake needs help. If what you say is true. Here is one story about 20 years ago I was between outboard engines. I had a 14 flatbottom with a minnkota. I had 2 batteries. On calm nights I would head over to lake Geneva Wisconsin. Troll in one direction until the first battery got low. Switch em out and turn around. While I was launching a tournament was staging. They were nice enough. Friendly and offering helpful advice. But I just do what I can with my little boat and 2nd rate equipment. So I ended up running out of juice the same time the tournament ended ended. Found out 11 something lbs won it. I estimate that I caught 12 lbs of smallmouth alone. 2 twenty inch largemouth and a couple more legals. Plus walleye and a 36 inch northern pike. I know that you can't troll in a bass tournament. But it is the best search method. When the PWT came to my home water they sucked. I lost all respect for their skills. I imagine that the bass elite aren't all that either. I do like Randy's opinions and gripes. I know that he can't be to outspoken. Because he has sponsors. But he gets it. I wish him the best of luck. Livescopers not so much
I rely on my fish-finding skills. I am a fish finder. That's why KVD has nothing ova me. Believe it or not, it does not matter. He will get finished by Sincerely Yours despite his outstanding status or what he says or what anyone thinks. It has nothing to do with status bruh.
@@tomrippen6570 Nah, I'm going to destroy him regardless of your opinion or his. I'm just letting you know. Your praise absolutely means nothing to me. Ask yourself who the fook is you? Or try asking me.

On tough days I remember “bass fish is a blessing”

Now THAT'S the kind of video's you should be concentrating on!!! Great information.
Thank you for the informative video. God bless and keep'em tight
Randy thanks for the info..
Thanks Randy. Tight lines.
Up here in Canada chomping at the bit to fish my lake is frozen solid still and bass is closed till June in my area you guys are so lucky
Great info, I’ve run into this more than I like to admit.
Good info Thanks 👍
I’ve found that just setting down the rods, eating something and taking a short break does wonders.
Great video and great advice! If it was easy it wouldn't be a sport, finding things to MAKE it easy is the key!
Good breakdown!
I know you can do it, Good luck and hammer down. I learn so much from bad days I think it makes us better in thie long run
I throw the same lure about 20 times clockwise and counterclockwise, change my retrieves, then I change lures 2 more times before I change location.
Got my intuitive angling shirt and love it , love the live scope sucks logo on it also , great video too

I’ve needed this video for so long and didn’t even know
Adding my trite comment, that's why it's called fishin' and not catchin'.

I hate to figure it out and it's late and the window closes in late winter early spring but did I figure it out or did the fish start biting
Good Luck down there. I hope you have a good 20 minutes on a good school of them.
Full-Proof. I get it now. Use the full spectrum in one area to figure out what is working. Full Proof. I could still be off but whatever.

That’s pretty much it.
full-proof haha your missouri accent bleeds over into your typing randy!
“Full proof?” I think you might mean “fool proof.”
Somebody had to say it. Glad it wasn't me.
So frankly there is no quick full proof way to locate fish it takes time and trial and error
Isn't it suppose to be"foolproof?" lol
That's why I'm here too. That's like Appalachian talk.
Natural lakes here in Michigan have zero creeks Wish someone that was a pro in the north would just talk about natural lakes
Fool-proof. Full proof isn't the colloquialism

Just a touch of humility from time to time would provide the credibility I believe you’re looking for, WolverineX.
KVD wouldn’t piss in your eye if it was on 🔥
