I did, too, I saw it in reruns on CBN, USA Network and BACK on CBN when it became known as The Family Channel until 1995 1995 was the year that CBN/FAM and USA stopped airing reruns of Classic Shows with the exception of FAM airing reruns of I'm Telling and GSN came aboard and that's when it all changed
I did too. I know that Jim Lange will forever be known for hosting “The Dating Game,” but I liked him as host of “Name That Tune.” I’ve watched the Dennis James and Tom Kennedy versions, but Jim Lange was my favorite and his version deserved a longer run.
Don't you mean 😏 until March 2️⃣9️⃣, 1️⃣9️⃣9️⃣6️⃣, T-Bone? Because that's when the Family 👪 Channel---now known as Freeform---stopped airing game 🎯 shows 📺📺📺, including those of THE ALL-NEW LET'S MAKE A DEAL (Season ❄️ 2️⃣), THE NEW $1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ NAME THAT TUNE and I’M TELLING.
Two versions of the closing theme - this one features a full chorus of the rhythm. Second and third choruses are all horns. Fourth chorus is trombones and sax only. Fifth all horns, sixth trombones and sax again. I don't know what happens after that as they never played the full recording. You can hear a lot of it on the first couple of weeks of shows. The other closing theme has the horns coming in on the last eight bars of the first chorus and all playing from there.
Yes INDEED, even though he'll forever be known as the host of The Dating Game during the 60's and 70's, he's also hosted other Game Shows like The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime and Triple Threat as well as an appearance on The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, Card Sharks w/the late Jim Perry and Family Feud w/the late Richard Dawson, my favorite Game Show from Mr. Lange is another well known favorite which is the Barry & Enright Cult Classic BULLSEYE BULLSEYE had an AWESOME Theme, an AWESOME Set as well as the Main Game and even the Bonus Island which is my favorite BULLSEYE is also my favorite B&E Game Show God Bless the Soul of Mr. Lange
And unless I'm mistaken, I think I saw Hap in the audience when they called the contestants at the start... maybe that's where he got the idea, seeing this guy do it... or vice versa.
i know what you're going to ask. you already asked me thousands of times. I will do my best to post them here during my busy work schedule. thats why i said be patient about it. Thanx.
Two episodes in a row of Tune without the VCR as the prize. The VCR(brand never named, covered up with masking tape) was the prize for Tune Topics for most of this season.
Josh, why r u asking people to ask me about this episode. I upload what i have in the collection. If its been pre-edited or cut in some way, I cant help it. These are the episodes the way they are recorded.
Right and that was before they upped the dollar amounts to $250 $500 $750 $1000 and Mr. Lange only spun it once and it can be worth up to $2000 in cash
Sad part is assuming everyone gets all the tunes right in melody roulette, the least a person could get is $300 with a spin before every song vs the one spin for 7 songs. The least a person could get would be $250. But if the contestants stunk on the multi spin and only got one tune, the absolute minimum is $100. The absolute maximum a person could win with the multi spin is $3000. One spin is maximum $2000. It would have been cool if they did multi spins with the 250-500-750-1000.
Back in Pizza Time Theatre when Chuck E. Cheese, Jasper T. Jowls, Pasqually E. Pieplate, and Crusty The Cat were all born there, they had this stage show @ 14:53!!!!!!!!!
The reason Name that Tune with Jim Lange did not last long do to stiff competition mainly do to jugrnaut hits Wheel and Jeopardy. Not because it was a bad game show it was a very good game show.
Not only that, but also, Tom Kennedy stated in an interview that even though Jim Lange did a good job hosting the show, he wasn't sold on the idea of having NTT go from airing once a week to being stripped to 5 days a week and also, you not only had competition from Wheel & J!, but also, Love Connection w/Mr. Lange's Friend Chuck Woolery, The People's Court w/the late Judge Wapner, Entertainment Tonight w/Mary Hart as well as Talk Shows from Sally & Donahue and even weekly syndicated shows like SOLID GOLD, Star Search w/the late Ed McMahon, Puttin' on the Hits w/Allen Fawcett, Soul Train w/the late Don Cornelius, America's Top 10 w/the late Casey Kasem and others
@@tnawcwvictoria I will agree with most of what you said, but it depends on which market and what time did it air. If it aired (7P or 7:30P) it would have gone against Wheel of Fortune and/or Jeopardy. the nighttime Wheel was into the 2nd season and Jeopardy just came back on the air. Neither of them at the time where not juggernauts yet. The original Family Feud was still on the air even though it was the final year. Entertainment Tonight was starting it's fourth season. Now ET, Wheel, and Jeopardy are the established juggernauts. I think if NTT were given a second season, it could have gone on to have a pretty good run itself.
I watched this version of the $100,000 Name That Tune with Jim Lange when I was a kid! I liked this version!

I used to watch this game show.
I believe $1600 is the biggest cash win on this version of NTT.
