They debut in 2022 and their concept has always been 90's/Y2K sound and aesthetics. They took the world by storm and even tho they went through darkest days, they've been always on top and it's the next big girl group in K-Pop. They're so talented! 🔥🫶🏻
Newjeans theme from their debut has always been old school they are literally a 90s throwback group. 90s RnB with its club variants of Miami Bass (How Sweet) and New Jack Swing (Supernatural). Then more traditional 90s clubland sounds mostly so far using UK Garage but also Baltimore Club, Jersey Club and (a softer mellower version of) Jungle/Drum and Bass (Right now) All genres at their most prominent early to late 90s.
ahahah tbh that “bubbly” girl (haerin) is the opposite of that😭 well not fully but she’s pretty quiet and introverted😄 but she’s very passionate when she talks about stuff she likes!!
I'm sorry but I laughed so hard when he said that coz Haerin is the total opposite of it [she's the mysterious one/the hardest one to read (in terms of personality) in this group] then you'll see Danielle next to her who is the actual bubbly and sunshine one 😆
NewjackJeans Supernatural reminds me and even sounds to me in parts like Bobby Brown 'Every Little Step'. Hyein broke her foot during this time so is replaced with a dancer in bunny costume to represent her... story wise Hyein is supposed to be the bunny .. the 2nd video reveals her as she takes the bunny mask off. (also opening credits in this says Lee Hyein aka The Bunny) Its a 2 parter so its deep in story, lore and metaphor. It will make more sense when you see part 2.. just know Minji isn't trying to steal Hyeins 'man' shes trying to split them up for reasons that will become apparent in part 2. Can't wait to see your reaction to part 2 and i will post my theory on meaning and metaphor after you see it :P
You picked up on the tower change at the end.. great! all i will say for now is the tower at the start is from the 80s... the tower at the end is present day. Something serious has happened over the 40 odd years and part 2 will address this. For now.. notice in this video their dances keep shifting from 80s with them wearings 80s clothing and 80s style mics to present day with them wearing current clothing and holding smartphones... suggesting they have been here and havent aged in 40 years. i will leave it as that for no spoilers till y see part 2.
