Flume Granular Drop Tutorial

- Made this with #FlumeSounds... I love granular synthesis so I thought I would make a video about how you can use granular sounds in your music. This is super simple, I've literally constructed this from a sample, a bass and some drums and the possibilities are endless.

that visualizer is sick!
Man I love flume’s sound design so much and I want to apply everything you teach in this video but I want to figure out a way to make the sound my own so I don’t just sound like I’m biting flume. Great tutorial man, I learned a lot, keep killing it!
Try granulizing your own songs!
Just make a track like flume, than find another track and add elements from that and eventually ull find ur sound
also flume's sound is hard to replicate and is based around a lot of samples believe it or not! So if u attempt ut u'll likely create something super unique that doesn't sound like him
I feel like Flume probably uses mainly Analog synths bro....but im not 100% sure...I'm with you though Samples are cool for learning but at what point do you become that MFer that is really creating that sound....Dont give up , never stop learning I know im not...will get there one day !
Just get into your vibe and the “right“ sounds will appeal to you automaticly:)
The low mono + high stereo kick - niceeee!! Hi from a fellow Kiwi ☺️
I'm not going to lie, watching the process of everything coming together had me thinking, this is going to sound like ass. But then when it all came together it was otherworldly and epic. I love this, so sick.
Never thought of widening out the top kick like that, thanks.
The only youtube tutorial thats given me goosebumps 🤤
Thats crazy !! I wasnt expecting this drop to be this good, awesome work on the drums, hope youll release this as a full song
He is actually Flume guys, don't be fooled 😂
yeah
Flume doesn't use FL to my knowledge.
SelfPropelledDestiny nothing gets past you, huh!🤓😂
@@SelfPropelledDestiny that's what he wants you to think 🤔
He just used flume's sample pack without that it would just be some drums
Ur slept on as a producer
Damn i just started with FL studio and this is exactly the type of stuff i wish to make keep it up
I just hope that maybe in the future you can make a video like the how to flume one but just a bit more for beginners cause its kinda hard to keep up with you😂 ps i really love the how to flume track
Keep going - never give up
DJ Paws thanks man, appreciate it a lot, will keep on grinding
I'm fucking speechless now. I've never seen someone made a tutorial about Flume this good. You completely nailed it.
Dude, you've cracked it
add that high octave reverb vocal ;) and it's gold! I loved this.. sounds great for something simple.. very impressed
That file position automation was so simple and right there. I gotta thank you a ton man...you made me realize how to order chaos inthe simplest way possible...thanks you.
the bass crunch aaah so good
Damn! The final beat and the side chain fuxking was mad, loved the distorted percussion too 💯💪🏽 subbed!
Reminds me of Rustie's EVENIFYOUDONTBELIEVE. This album was clearly ahead of its time.
Yeah and not to mention his Glass Swords album was the most pioneering album of the decade for that sort of shit. Rustie really started it all for this genre.
Flume ghost producer confirmed.
This beautiful, no words
Best Flume tuto on RUclips
This sounds like INZO - I'm Dreaming, so amazing!
That Pitch up layering of the granular sound was a very nice trick, thanks.
Damn, Ableton Granulator is a beast. Stacking the sample with a pitched up version was really smart.
widening the drop granular sample could also have been done by generating a second granulated sample then panning the first to the left and the second to the right, in order to avoid mono cancellation due to Haas
Oh wow thanks! I didn't even know this was a thing but it's really the style I've been aiming for!
Nicely done! Thanks for your time!
Hands down best Flume tutorial out there so far!
Amazing stuff man, I'm kinda bored with tech house and I plan to start making this genre but with my own spin to it. Great instructions!

Wow I'm super impressed with you drum layering method. Kudos man!
PLEASE make this avaiable on spotify! And more of this please
Great tutorial!
Thank you for sharing the samples!
I really like the final result
I only think that perhaps, the sounds would benefit from a little space from each other. To have more room to "breathe"
Really good video bro!
Thats so sick!
New sub :)
So creative
so beautiful
super super cool! just so you know, you don't really have to automate the FilePos in Granulator II, you can just use the scan feature.
Adorable thing!
Geez, didn’t expect this to slap as hard as it did. My fault lol, your stuff is sick
Flume got the most unique drop.

pretty nice, sounds like Flume himself
Just subbed, fantastic work!!
Oh my goodness!
Dude Ya so talented
brooooo this is so gooood
So you're doing granular synthesis on a sample flume made...using granular synthesis. It would be cool if you did a video where you show how granular synthesis is used to create that cool sounding sample in the first place. You feel me?
🔥🔥🔥🔥 tahnks for sharing!
This is rly good
I need this track 😍😍😍😍😍
Nice!
Hi, this is Ssavid and I am a ghost writer for fLuMe
Goes hard fam!
Dude this is soo gooooooood.flume gost producer hehe
At first I thought those riser snippets in the drop sounded weird... and then of course in the final result they ended up being completely fire. Nice work on this track. Any tips for finding samples that play well with a granulator? Mine always end up sounding too much like the original sample.
I encountered the same problem, I try to mix different samples and also take the less recognizable parts of the sample and twitch the position sound until I find something that sounds new.
Amazing
Damn great 👍🏼
Holy fuck dude this is super underrated!!! Insane sounds great work
AWESOME
