Folks that demand perfection from others are rarely perfect themselves. A splash of humility and a drop of tolerance mixed with a big shot of understanding, would surely do us all some good.
Thanks for the correction Jared. It really is baffling that air conditioners - both RV and household - don't have an soft starts installed from the factory - seems like its beneficial for all the components involved. As a creator - I understand the desire not to let folks down in person - the control we have by being able to edit and publish is awesome and helpful, but also comes at a cost. Having met you in person I can confidently say, you're not letting anyone down brother - you are on camera as you were off. Keep up the good work!
Great video, I love that you corrected this. You are human, don't feel bad, as we all make mistakes. At least you are trying to let folks know about new products in a realistic unbiased way. Greatly appreciated!
Great correction! Being able to install an Soft Starter on this makes all the difference. I always wonder why they don't make this a factory option on some of these units. Hope to see you on the road some time! 🐾🐾
Nice correction Jared. Good job. There are other channels that would not be as honest and wanting to provide correct information. We always enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
Thanks for everything you do. I learned more on my first day burning French fries than I did every other time I cooked them right. Never made that mistake again. Thanks for being up front and honest!
I appreciate your honesty! I looked up your Eco-Cool Air Conditioner. On the manufacturer site it states that you Don't Need to Add On a Soft Start. I get that your generator could not handle it with 2500w peak 1850w continuous because it was still has way high Start Up Amps at 48amps/5500w. Adding a Soft Start buffered it down to under 20amps, Wow! I am surprised that the Colman started on your generator because 29amps/3300w is still way above 2500w. We are Off Grid so soft start and efficiency are very important. We purchased the RecPro by Houghton that has 15k Air and Heat Pump which specifically states that it is Soft Start and you don't need to install a Soft Start! We have no problems starting on our inverters and our larger backup generators but I have not tested the startup amperage so who knows how it compares? Of course it is when the compressor starts that draws the huge startup amperage, it would be interesting to know what mine draws? One thing I like about your Eco-Cool is the controls on the unit itself. The RecPro has a lousy almost useless controller on the unit so you must use the remote! The Eco-Cool seems very nice, quieter and higher quality. Ours is very quiet on the ducted front unit and the bedroom non/ducted us of course a little louder. Having roof top air with actual temperature control is so necessary not like our original bedroom air with High/Med/Low. RecPro has multiple speeds also, not variable like a minisplit. When it gets over 107F we do use both units, even with a metal carport over our RV. We are very happy with the low power usage. I do not think it is a quiet as your Eco-Cool for sure.
@AllAboutRVs no worries at all on the initial information and thank you for correcting it. This video is perfect and clarifies the important information. We wouldn’t have erasures if we didn’t make mistakes. Keep up the great work.
Just picked up the TOSOT variant of this same unit, and already have an easy start on the AC it's replacing.... so good to know, i'll just swap it over. Thanks for the video!
No worries, Jared. This is my favorite RV channel because you do care, you are technical, and (extra takes or not) you are obviously genuine. Cheers to you. It would be awesome to see you on the road, but it'll be great to see you in the next video.
😊 my friend all of us are human and all humans make mistakes 30+ years as a auto shop owner I strived to be perfect but when I failed I was quick to admit I messed up Making a mistake is human covering it up is dishonest You my friend are not dishonest Love ya friend Dennis Hall
Excellent, Jared. Thanks for making the corrections and for showing us how easy it is to install the Micro-Air EasyStart. I installed the EasyStart on my Coleman Mach A/C but I didn't have to cut any wires.
I felt just as bad as you when I discovered the Gree air conditioner false claims that it was a variablespeedcompressorand that it didn't need a soft start. I installed the SoftStartRV and solved the big problem, so now it runs off my Lithionics 320ah Lithium battery and Xantrex 3000w inverter. The Gree air conditioner is quiet and uses about 30% less power. Plus it has a heat pump. Congratulations on taking others advice and recognizing a soft start installation was the solution.
Thanks for this video. I have had the Tosot Go Cool a/c that is a clone of the Gree in my Amazon wish list for about 6 months waiting for someone like you to review it. I REALLY appreciate you doing a soft start install, too. Tho Tosot is advertised as having a variable speed compressor as well and I really did not know what that meant or if it would be a good thing. You cleared the air for me. Thanks
Thank you So much for sharing all that you do. Its great to know that there are others out there like us that might need a nudge of encouragement to get the job done that we all know we can do! I look forward to seeing you every week and someday meeting you! Keep up the great work.
Just seeing this particular video, after having watched a number of yours, I am a subscriber. Owning a mistake or clearing the conscience is more important clicks and likes. But I think you'll get more by being genuine. Keep it up.
Thanks for the good information. I have installed a soft start on my old AC unit and it will now start and run on the generator. but unlike your new AC its noisy.
You're not special? Because you are a human being created in the image of God, you are special. But what sets you apart and makes you special, are the talents you have at gathering information and expressing it to us in a way that is easy to understand, relatable, entertaining and professionally presented. You are a humble man, father, husband and son. Don't sell yourself short. You have touched and helped hundreds of thousands of people. You are often imitated but rarely equaled. May God bless you and your family.
I think I can speak for most of us that watch you and it’s because of honesty. I watch or did watch a lot of rv RUclipsrs but slowly you figure out some are not worth it.
I'm glad my information comments and soft start Installation video on my Gree air conditioner helped you better understand your Gree Eco cool air conditioner video and correct the information you were putting out on it. With your addition of the MicroAir EasyStart you can now enjoy the Eco Cool air conditioner and heat pump off a small generator or 3000w inverter and Lithium batteries. The Gree air conditioner is quiet and uses about 30% less power compared to my old Dometic Penguin ll. It also puts out 425cfm as compared to the 300cfm of my Dometic. So it really gives quite an increase in cooling. I have an Atmos 4.4 air conditioner which is exactly the same unit as the Eco Cool, it manufactured by Gree and just branded differently.
11/10 on recommending using the multimeter to discharge the capacitor. Everybody wants to just use a screwdriver and get a big spark if its charged, but something like a multimeter is going to allow it to discharge slower and more gently, so to speak.
I installed the same soft start to my 15K BTU AC unit... I run 2 Ryobi generator inverter 2300 starting watts.. I can run my AC, 75" 📺, 3 fans, soundbar with subwoofer, all day long...
You do awesome research for the rest of us- even before some of is even owns an RV. We now own a super C and I follow and refer back to your videos. Keep up the good work!
Big fan love you videos. So I watch the video your referencing and I’m an HVAC tech. I like you did a whole video. So when you described the compressor as Variable Speed I knew it was a mistake. No worries I didn’t worry so much about it. Although this A/C unit is on my list if I need to replace mine…. Great job as always you put a lot of time and effort into your video… a few minor issues makes you seem more human to me.
Would love to run into you on the road someday! Thank you for all the great content. We all make mistakes, but only a few are honest about them. I have learned a lot from you over the years.
Thanks for the update. Don’t understand why the ac manufacturers are using 40 year old tech. This is just another old design. At least include an easy start from the factory. Cant wait till you do the new furrion chill cube like jd on big truck big rv. Take care
You are my first source of rv knowledge I go to on RUclips. I reference you a lot when rv comes up. Why not a mini split vs roof top AC? I’ve seen a lot going to those for many reasons.
Another great video! You continue to raise the bar for new channels like mine, I appreciate your honesty and how you go the extra mile to explain things! Thanks for being an inspiration ! -Keith@ThreedayRV
I was really looking hard at this unit, so I'm glad you updated the info! I think my iGen4500 would handle it without though. One piece of advice, if you're going to show using pliers or some other metal tool to discharge a capacitor, make sure you mention the risk and to use insulated tools!
Nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes. To err is human. Something any of us could do. So don’t worry about it. It’s ok. Really. In related news you now have a restraining order to stay at least fifty feet from my A/C.
This is exactly how one maintains one's integrity. It is genuinely appreciated.
Admitting a mistake is more powerful and credible than being accurate the first time!
It’s more rare than ever for someone to admit a mistake and give the correction. Thank you
Folks that demand perfection from others are rarely perfect themselves. A splash of humility and a drop of tolerance mixed with a big shot of understanding, would surely do us all some good.
Don’t beat yourself up Jared. You are a go to guy for most do it yourself rvers want to know.
This is why I watch your videos.....Your character and integrity are what it is all about...Thank you!!
You're way too hard on yourself. A simple correction is plenty. No harm done. Great channel. We watch you all the time. Thank you.
Mistakes are more tolerable when there is honesty involved. That's fine by me. THANKS!
A friendly reminder that your channel's name is All About RV's not Know it All About RV's. Love your content. Keep up the great work
The correction and honesty is why we all subscribe. Just look at how many subscribers you have, mistakes happen, corrections count.
I'm a long time lurker, but had never subscribed. Your integrity today has earned you another subscriber.
Your kids are so lucky to have a Dad like you!
Thoroughly enjoy your videos. 43 days into full time RVing, and your videos have made it a lot smoother! Thanks again! I'll get out east eventually.

Thanks that means a lot especially from you. Thanks for everything.
Great video, I love that you corrected this. You are human, don't feel bad, as we all make mistakes. At least you are trying to let folks know about new products in a realistic unbiased way. Greatly appreciated!
In today’s world , you are a breathe of fresh air! Thank you!
No worries! I have huge respect for you releasing this video!
Great correction! Being able to install an Soft Starter on this makes all the difference. I always wonder why they don't make this a factory option on some of these units. Hope to see you on the road some time! 🐾🐾
Hi Jared - I'm thankful for grace for us all! I appreciate your channel, and I'm praying for you :)
Nice correction Jared. Good job. There are other channels that would not be as honest and wanting to provide correct information.
We always enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.
Thank you.
I have learned alot watching your videos, Jared. Thank you for setting the record straight on this. Love all of your hard work on these videos.
Thanks for everything you do. I learned more on my first day burning French fries than I did every other time I cooked them right. Never made that mistake again. Thanks for being up front and honest!
None of us are perfect. You are normal. I appreciate your honesty, and I look forward to meeting you and your family one day. Have a great summer!
Jarod this video is exactly why I enjoy watching your content. Honest, trustworthy information. Keep up the great work.
That’s why we’re here Jared!
We love this. More people need to be like you
I appreciate your honesty!

Thanks for the correction! Glad to see it now works!

Great content❤. Thanks for the integrity and be conscientious of my time with informative, factual topics and presenting them in a concise manner.
No matter the small and quite rare mistake you might make (I am saying quite rare), you are still the source I go to for good info! Thanks

As always, appreciate your videos and the information that you share.
Great job again and thanks for your honesty! 👍🇨🇦
