Nintendo's biggest PR disaster has to be their constant abuse of copyright strikes. While admittedly, many people did have it coming (the guy who made that mod for Palworld that turns it into Pokemon did get donations from the community, which technically means he was making money off an IP without Nintendo's consent), most of the time it's completely uncalled for. Like when asked why AM2R was taken down, Reggie responded with saying it was a "commercial product" despite no evidence supporting said claims (Samus Returns being an official remake being the only reason I can think of, but it's not like people weren't gonna buy that after playing AM2R), and another example is last year, they threatened to shut down a Smash Ultimate tournament for disabled people for using third-party controllers. Not only isn't the use of third-party devices for first-party systems perfectly legal since they all have Bluetooth built in as standard, but it's even more jarring because Nintendo doesn't make any first-party controllers for the disabled and yet have the audacity to go overboard over something they know full well is even worse for PR. If any of the participants were children, it makes it even more of a disaster since Nintendo puts great emphasis on making games specifically for children. Thankfully in this case, the only thing stronger than Japanese copyright lawyers is Norwegian lawmakers.
Regarding the Halo community manager blaming the Ukraine war for not responding, the other crazy part of that was that guy's side account (which was linked to in his community manager account) was posting all weekend about crypto stuff and clearly he was focusing on his personal stuff. When people saw him posting about crypto all weekend, then blamed the war for being distracted, it was way obvious. That stuff got hidden immediately and he was moved elsewhere in 343, but it was wild

Homefront deserved a greenlight. It was a great game. Just needed more funding. Also sucks that they swapped the enemy to NK. Could have just left it vague, but there is only one credible threat militarily to the US. Narratively, it HAD to be China. Not saying China would, just that they are the only ones who can.
It's not free gas but every once in a while where I live Sheetz will have gas for 99 cents a gallon and it's crazy how busy it gets. Idk if they do it everywhere but i live in a pretty small town/area and it gets like he was saying so I could imagine in what free gas would be like in big ass city like London.
You can legally own brass knuckles in many states here in the US! Only a small few have a complete ban on them. However, generally for most states where it is legal, you cannot carry them concealed on your person. For example, in Oregon it’s legal to own, but you may only have them on private property.
In regards to the MLK event, I think Epic was contractually obligated to keep the DC emotes regardless of event. Otherwise, I can’t imagine Catwoman’s emote being allowed.
Kevin Smith's movie Dogma (1999) was protested by Catholics who found the subject matter in the movie offensive. Kevin Smith joined the protests against the movie he had made in order to increase notoriety. I wonder if the Dante's Inferno stunt was inspired by that.

When i first played it and got to the second ring: Lust and heard the moans, i immediately muted the volume because my parents thought i was watching something i wasnt supposed to but i ended up completing the level and went to Gluttony. But I suppose Dante's Inferno must've made Catholics mad because of how the game was depicting hell i suppose or maybe because of Lucifer.

They tried to go with controversy-based marketing by getting a publicist to make reports that heavily exaggerated or fabricated aspects of the game that could be seen as problematic, most notable being the erroneous claim that the game shows sexual content involving underage characters. This not only caused the game to get banned in several countries but also caused it to bomb in the countries that did get a release, causing the studio that developed it to shut down.
Browsing Fortnite's MLK event as Travis Scott is wilder than the event itself 💀
By adding the MLK event, they have now also added racism to its universe.
Manhunt 1/2 is still banned here in New Zealand. You get a $20.000 fine if caught with it. I’ve still not played it but watched videos on RUclips. Things I’ll do for a complete copy of them two for my collection 😢
I just stumbled on this channel today! I really like the switching between who’s presenting each topic on the video. 👍🏼👍🏼
I feel like the gas promo for mercenaries is actually pretty sweet only problem is EVERYONE knew if they would’ve just kept it at “pop-up” level it probably would’ve went smoother imo
I feel like this could really benefit from some royalty free soft piano or something. It’s a good video tho
You help me remember mercenaries 2 I forget the name but remember the cover. Thank you 🙏🏿
Kevin Smith's movie Dogma (1999) was protested by Catholics who found the subject matter in the movie offensive. Kevin Smith joined the protests against the movie he had made in order to increase notoriety. I wonder if the Dante's Inferno stunt was inspired by that.
Love the success out of halo RUclipsrs. Congratulations yall.
The Call of Duty Infinite Warfare hatred I will never understand. It legitimately has one of the best campaigns in the Call of Duty series
There was this marketing thing in the UK, involving the game Burnout 2 where any speeding tickets would be paid for by the developers, think it's quite obvious what happened.
Can't forget Artifact: The DOTA Card Game
The audible groan from the audience at the reveal was priceless.
Maybe next time EA can just giveaway Speedway gift cards.
I like this weird podcast/deepdive genre, I'm here for it
12:25 Homefront had issues but it sold well and to this day there are many people who love it. Even hear friends say it's one of the best fps they've played.
Sheesh bro got straight to it
I know everyone is commenting about the Fortnite MLK event but it’s actually so crazy that it was a real thing even if it was to ‘educate’ the youth 💀
12:00 No pal, THQ Nordic is a totally different company from THQ from 2011.
nintendo is a walking PR disaster, but they're so monolithic and makes such good games that it doesn't matter in the slightest
Out of a lot of games that were severely disliked from their release in terms of recent games, cyberpunk made a huge comeback, it actually turned into one of my top 5 games ever.
In the end of the day, the phrase "any publicity is good publicity" doesn't work on these cases
That psp ad holy shit 💀
😂

tbf if i was in his position i would also keep that USB stick in my pockets at all times, idk why he put it out of his pockets but i wouldn't say that it's weird either
It was used as a butt plug that fell out
It's funny that everyone is Peter Molyneux now. At least his games were good on release though, even if they were only 30% of what he planned.
That PSP poster was WILD. What was Sony thinking
Sony decided to be racist that year in particular.
Wuss
@@VelvetFoxshut up furry
That ad for the psp wasn’t even racist smh just cause it said “white is coming” big fucking deal. people need to get over themselves
@@jacobhammond6783 it was racist tho
I certainly enjoyed playing Dante's Inferno, in fact i completed the game in Inferno difficulty and liked the ending even though there wasnt a sequel to it but ended nicely.
