I love the fact that you bring your opponents off the ground and into the air right in the middle of the combo its a really nice change and makes the game a lot more realistic and fast pace. Im also impress with the body motions when there doing the combo it flows perfectly. This game is going to rock.
YES I AM A TEKKEN FANBOY BECAUSE TEKKEN HAS.. Over 30 characters, personal stats, customizable characters, rankings... Tekken 5 brings back the old school arcade feeling. The fact that you can use your PS2 controllers in an arcade is also a long time dream of fans of the fighting genre. That's two birds with one revolutionary stone... And it's called Tekken 5. Tekken is better than ever, and lets you use pure "creativity" with your fighting style, air combos, and not to mention customizations.
this guy knows what hes talking about. I share your views 100%. All of the fighting games out have their mechanic that separates them and its just more pleasurable to be able to enjoy a variety of games rather than sticking to your favorite and criticizing the rest based on one games standards
Man, it's really an improvement. I've mastered Lei and Law since Tekken 3 and it'll be a challenge seeing as there's a big difference in controls and skill set. The game is looking really great.
@SomethingWong You are absolutely right. And nobody can claim that it happens according to the reality/Physics/gravity. But saying that Tekken 6 is the "only" unrealistic game which defies the laws of Physics IS wrong. The major rival of Tekken franchise, VF franchise is also unrealistic and doesn't follow the laws either. Juggling, bouncing, wall-juggling are ALL unrealistic and defy Physics (at such minimal force). Kage's throw in VF also launches the opponent almost as high as Hwoarang's SR.
(cont'd) And keep in mind that Tekken introduced side-step, stuns, stance-based characters, tech-roll (normal attacks), more than one costumed per character, CGI endings and many other things WAY before DOA. As for reversal, Tekken 2 (released BEFORE DAO1) had a reversal maneuver. I think there's no need to mention that DOA1 had ONLY one reversal for ALL attacks. I also think it's worth to mention that DOA1 was released as a CLONE of VF2 for beginners (with less-depth).
i love my man marshall law new combos and movements. Lee was really cool as well, i could see that he has some really nice new moves, i'm bout to start using him when this come out.
Those combos are all terrific and awesome! I really love all of them! My favorite one is the third Xiaoyu combo, though! I really can't wait to play Tekken 6! I especially want to play as the new characters, especially Bob! He's the best new character! His moves are so awesome, and his attitude is very cool, as well! Zafina is my second favorite new character! Her moves are terrific, original, and cool, and she has a great attitude, too! Also, Bob and Zafina's combos all look terrific!
@Bam1ball It's called 'universal low parry' and can be used to deflect any 'low' or 'special mid' attack to gain frame advantage. It's done by tapping down+forward (d/f) on your D-pad or joystick when opponent's attack is about to hit you.
I love Miguel. Its so awesome to say you beat the crap out of a disciplined martial artist with a guy who fights like a drunk. He swings his arms wildly and without any sort of control and that just looks...badass. I really want to learn him. I need to get out of the Mishima style anyway.
About tiers, tiers are present in EVERY fighting game where characters have different movelist and moves at different speed. Even a balanced game like VF ALSO have tiers. It's totally untrue to say that tiers only exist in unbalanced games.
well idk where but i know some not sure if its correct though Wang: chinese kempo Xiaoyu: some mix between gymnastics and wushu jin, heihachi, kazuya&dvj: mishima style karate jun&Asuka: kazama style martial arts Paul: mix with judo and karate Eddy & christie:capoeira dragunov:comand samba Ganryu: sumo Bruce: Muay thai Hworang&baek:taekwando Zafina:ancient assasin style martial arts Nina&anna:assasin style (not sure) i think i can tell leo&law's style but i havent confirmed yet
It doesn't have to do with the amount of force or realism. It's the actual substance, design/shape and density that matter. If you are saying that human can't bounce because they are heavy, what about a pencil, eraser (which is also made of rubber) or a pen, they don't bounce back either while a plastic ball does.
Most of the combos there if you see carefully the oponent touch the ground, and there you can make tell roll... tech roll is when you are falling and you press any button to roll to one side and stand fast (depends on the button goes to the right or left)... like there are some combos that works with tech roll too... i didnt play tekken 6, just some tekken 5 and ttt, that's why i was asking about the tech roll.
a year is divided up by quarters january, feb, and march is quarter 1 quarter 4 basically means the late end of the year of year 2008. which is true....this game is out already in arcades. for the home console systems...i believe release date is Q2-Q4 2009.
Man, when I first saw Miguel, I was like "What the fuck..man what were they thinking?" But now he actually looks like a pretty playable character...I'll have to try em out. Looks tough. Side note: That fuckin last second thing steve did was ridiculous...
(continued) khentimentiu: "and your question regarding VF's Physics is???? khentimentiu: "err yes i have multiple times your just going round in circles" Where? Did you watch the combo videos that I mentioned earlier? Kage's straight punches on an airborne opponent (Sarah) doesn't let her fall but she floats farther and HIGHER in the first juggle. Also, character seems to float rather than fall as if gravitational force have been reduced a lot.
I KNEW Bruce was using Muay Thai! One of my friends said it was regular, American kick boxing, but I knew it was too furious for that! Btw am I wrong to assume that Chinese Kenpo is just a way to address Chinese unarmed martial arts? Anyways thanks for giving me some feedback. Couldn't quite identify Asuka/Jun and Paul ^^
@MrFootball365 the star means neutral means you do nothing to the d-pad example heihachi's EWGF the command list is forward stars down down forward + triangle so after you press forward, don't press anything on the d-pad next you press down and down forward... sorry if this make you more confused
i think tekken 6 its very very good and im waiting to get it...the best fighting games for me... 1.VIRTUA FIGHTER 2.STREET FIGHTER 3.TEKKEN nice video:)
I'm talking about Street Fighter style block stun, where they get 30 frames advantage, not 3 like in Tekken. When the fastest move is about 8 frames, +3 doesn't amount to much. As for universal parries/counters, tekken doesn't have those. A few characters have active counters, but low parries are passive, they don't commit your character to a move. Games like Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive you can run up to someone and stop...hoping to elicit a counter/parry...and then launch them
Did you read what I've just posted? Characters ALWAYS stack on top of each other no matter how balanced a game is. Tiers ARE defined in every fighting game, I don't know about tier list in KOF2002 but it doesn't mean tiers aren't defined. Kage has obvious advantage over other characters in VF5 Version B. There is no such thing as match-ups, either one character has advantage OR disadvantage when compared to another character. The DIFFERENCE LEVEL between tiers makes it balanced or unbalanced.
@prabustrike - that Lightning Uppercut Thing you called is EWGF, to perform that move, press "F n f+d triangle" n stands for neutral search the Main Man for more info, he's the god of that move xD
im not saying that at all, i said in that one case of the uranus combo gravity can be ignored because of the characters physics altering ability aka levitation. this would be the same as jinpachi's supernatural moves that make people float parilized in the air, i have no dispute with this. only with the games general in game physics
It's cool that they already have it in the arcades but I feel in a way it kinda spoils it for people who are still waiting for it. It's like you know what to expect already.
(continued) "no no what im talking about is light punch making a person, robot or bear float along like a baloon." Whether it's a "light" punch or "strong" attack, it is NOT supposed to keep the opponent in the air. DOA and VF do have juggling/wall juggling AND bouncing system. Bloody Roar juggles reach up to dozens of hits. Have a look at your "Uranus 100% damage combo" video and let me know if that combo (especially the end) follow even "simple" Physics.
It's Marshall. He can sitll have the mustache, based on what I've seen in another video. It would be cool to have the both, but with different movesets (same with Michelle and Kunimitsu; just look at Nina and Anna).
I really liked the fact that this time around juggles can be extended by bouncing the enemy(rival) on the ground. At first I taught it will ruin the game because it will finish the enemy much faster, but after seeing this video I realised that this is not the case because if you look closely the health is drained much slower when the enemy is airbourne.
hell tekken 2 had some painful combos such as kazuyas infamous rapid punch kick gut punch then lightning screw uppercut and any punch combo followed up with a dragon fist from paul equals dead enemy.
regular SR is done with the full f,d,d/f motion and is slower that JFSR, I think it may be punishable also. JFSR has to be done by using only f,d/f and you have to hit the kick button the exact time you press d/f. Its faster, safer, stronger, and has a nice sparkly trail to the kick so you know you did it right.
i'm a former tekken fanatic and haven't tried out this one yet...so far wow from what i've seen, but r those last few hits REAL hits or tech rollable? r the mechanics of this one the same as T5 at least? did they change it much?
this is awesome!! i have tekken 5, and its good in my opinion. tekken 6 be pwnage i agree tekken 6 has more juggles, soo coool. even though i suck at juggling lol
We are discussing fighting games in which mostly HUMANS are fighting (with some exceptions). You can't ASSUME everything. Calculations doesn't mean anything. For instance, if 10 people can build a room in 1 hour, it doesn't mean that the same room can be built in 1 seconds with the help of 36,000 people despite of the fact that it is true according to calculations and assumptions.
I guess certain combos needed to give the right attack result. There was one that didn't look right with Bruce (can't remember with video) doing the d/f+3,1 combo.
Where? Did you watch the combo videos that I mentioned earlier? Kage's straight punches on an airborne opponent (Sarah) doesn't let her fall but she floats further and HIGHER in the first juggle. Also, character seems to float rather than fall as if gravitational force have been reduced a lot.
For me , the Best Tekken ever made 🙌💯😎

Damn. I never really considered this game age. And from the looks of it, I think it aged pretty well.
YES I AM A TEKKEN FANBOY BECAUSE TEKKEN HAS..

Air juggles and wakeups so tight! graphics are dope, added pictures are incredible, order of characters were about right.
King uses Lucha Libre? Awesome! Anyways thanks for the info. Glad to meet someone with knowledge of martial arts ^^
Dude, I been waiting for 2 years. 3 months aint that bad...
Man! You are cold! Really funny, but really cold at the same time! XD
BACK IN ACTION BABY WOOOOOOO
O thx for the info :D sometimes i did it accidentily and asked my self how I did that but thx for the help :D
this is really skillful :D keep the vids coming!
looks badass! as expected of Namco! muhaha. Tekken rules!!
I been out and about, but the wait is still there you know...
Yes... Anna is great too, she's one of my options.. The sisters rocks!
Man, it's really an improvement. I've mastered Lei and Law since Tekken 3 and it'll be a challenge seeing as there's a big difference in controls and skill set. The game is looking really great.
this is going to be REEEEEEEEEEEELY intresting
lee and kazuya were pretty good. and law was looking frickin' awesome. even more bruce-like than before.
good to see theres more health than i can remember in the older tekken games,, i like it when fights can potentially last a while
@SomethingWong

Tekken is gonna be BIG
Breaking through walls in one level, falling through the floor in another. The good shit. As long as they keep square levels and infinite levels.
I totally agree, juggling has always been stupid, and it is a real roadblock in terms of moving forwards in fighting games.
awsome combo by leo
I love Miguel. Its so awesome to say you beat the crap out of a disciplined martial artist with a guy who fights like a drunk. He swings his arms wildly and without any sort of control and that just looks...badass.

LMAO! i did'nt know that Bob was that good! XD
I won't be good in tekken 6 for a while
I just realized I have too many favorite characters, mastering them all will take years.
well idk where but i know some not sure if its correct though
Wang: chinese kempo
Xiaoyu: some mix between gymnastics and wushu
jin,heihachi,kazuya&dvj: mishima style karate
jun&Asuka: kazama style martial arts
Paul: mix with judo and karate
Eddy & christie:capoeira
