Newjeans are quite different in kpop as they use very much 90s UK and US dance/clubland sounds that are RnB centric.... this for example is uk garage with elements of drum and bass both very much uk clubland sounds.. (the drum and bass sample is slowed down to match the slightly slower uk garage tempo) Most of their videos are deep in lore or story often exploring deep and disturbing themes... they appear cute and fun but its not always the case if you scratch beneath the surface. This video for example is one of their much more lighter ones but even features a story of how kpop can help you forget about your troubles. If you noticed the bus runs over a cyclist, theres a failed proposal and a couple of arguments.. all of these are glossed over very quickly to get back to the song and the dancing because kpop makes you instantly forget about your troubles :P
For more Newjeans, I recommend: Hype boy, Attention, Ditto, OMG, Cool with you. Fun fact, the main character of the cool with you MV is a squid game actor from season 1
Your favorite (bias) is Lee Hye-in, who was only 15 years old, I think, when this song came out. Earlier this year she featured in a song by the superstar IU (Lee Ji-eun) whose debut was on the year Hyein was born.
