Including finished pieces and highlights from a kiln unloading.
That was great! I was so excited to see all the different textures and patterns!
Thanks, you get to see more in the new video tonight.
I really enjoyed watching your chattering experiments and then to see the pieces glazed was really helpful. I've tried my new tools on about 6 bowls and 3 teapot bodies so far, a bit underwhelming but I will persevere. The Chun Green is a beautiful glaze to show off the marks. Merry Christmas to you and Jackie!
Thanks Susan, I have lots of ideas to explore with them. Merry Xmas.
Merry Christmas, Vaughn and Jacque!
I bought the chattering tools also love them!! Thank you Vaughan
Happy holidays to you both!
Another really enjoyable video Vaughan as usual with great tidbits.
All the best for the coming year.
Cheers...Freddie
Thanks Freddie, got your snow suit out today, you were colder than us Friday. We had 52F briefly. Colder now. Happy New Year.
I bought my chattering tools following your first video. I’ve yet to have an opportunity to use. Please continue to post chattering videos, they’re great!
I am kind of addicted to them, I keep making bowls to play with them.
I am addicted to your chattering videos. Watched them several times. I need to make more bowls to practice your technique. I have messed up several bowls trying to get the hang of this. But, it is a lot of fun.
Do you have a recipe for mouse grey glaze?
They are in this video. ruclips.net/video/zjHGLHc1bcg/видео.html
The Vaal Triangle. You still have your accent even if trying to disguise it under clay
A lot of those patterns remind me of cuneiform writing. It looks really nice! Whatever your age, the joy of your creativity always comes through, and has ever since we started watching your videos. It's a joy to follow along with you!
I said that in one of the chattering videos, great minds think alike. It is the triangle cut mark and the clay surface, millenia old writing.
I love the patterns!! Beautiful work…

I love your videos. I've learned so much from you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
South African Triangles.
Really like the glazed effect of your pieces.
Merry Christmas Vaughan and Jaque.
Beautiful chattering! Thank you for sharing. Would you share recipes for the transparent glazes you showed?
Send me an email and I will send you photos of my glaze pages.
Hi Vaughn.
Happy Newyear and Happy Birthday. Love the videos. I'm Learn a lot from you . Question. Have you tried verting the speed of the wheel as you travel down the pot. I think you will find a diffrent style of chattering as the speed verries.
Again thank for the videos.
I look forward to them sunday morning here in Detroit Michigan area.
Thanks I was experimenting again today, using slips and stains to chatter through, future video. I think I love the textures created but I am trying to get patterns and they seem to be when the wheel goes slower.. My wife is from Pontiac.
Wait, what? Does Rocky have a friend now? They are so cute!
Yes I am worried that means more in the spring, I am too close to a road.
My sensei's 72.
What's the tool you use for chattering please?

Have you made a video about how to create plaster chucks? Any tips on making plaster bats? Thanks in advance.
I stay away from plaster because of the chipping. The plaster will chip with normal wear and tear and those chips explode if they get fired inside clay pieces. I use bisque fired clay chucks.
@@Vsmithpots Thank you!!!!! I’ll try making some
Love your tea pots and enjoyed watching you experiment with chattering. I do like the lines defining the different areas that were chattered.
Can you share Chun Green recipe.? Lovely kiln opening 🤗
I will put them in a video on kiln opening January 15th.
@@Vsmithpots thank you Merry Christmas. Waiting for everyone to open gifts😜 now is 10:27 am Vancouver time What Santa got to you? 😁

Chattering pottery is so fun! Thanks for sharing!
I am so confused - I am on the website, interested in the set of four (but which ones? inside, outside, triamgle marks?) and I don't know what the burnishing/trimming tool does. Could you please explain? I am fascinated by the idea of chattering. Thanks in advance.
I would suggest the round nib and the square nib for inside and outside chattering. The pointed and square trimming tools are my favourites .
@@Vsmithpots Thank you so much!! I’d love to visit this summer from Maine. We have an electric car so would need to find chargers.
@@marykowalski7349 Good luck, I know there are chargers here in Bridgewater.
@@Vsmithpots That's wonderful for Mother Earth. I have ordered just what you recommended. Thank you for all the great teaching. I was a ceramics major at Grinnell College '71 and am just back into clay after 30+years. You are refreshing my old brain. 😀

Really fun - thank you!
Do you suppose the "dig in angle" one might be for left handed/clockwise chattering? I work on a kick wheel so either way is pretty easy and I find that trimming left handed sometimes gives me better results. If you had bands like what you are doing and alternated left and right spin?.
Yet another good idea. I find the new reverse tools Bill sent are good for chattering up the wall and the other side of the tool for going down the wall. Playtime again.
Thanks for the detailed chattering tutorial, stay warm and happy holidays to you both from Michigan!
You guys are in deep snow. stay safe.
I have really enjoyed watching your exploration of chattering. Try applying coloured or black slip before you chatter. It will likely define the texture
I thought of that and was planning on a video using slip and also underglazes, comparing them.
