Sometimes, just sometimes watching sparring is more entertaining than watching a fight.
For sure I keep saying that. It s because the fighters dare to try different things and won't care as much as far as taking more risk which is more entertaining to watch. More combos too lol

Damn J Leon can box! Nieky is an absolute savage and J Leon put it on him. What the hell was everyone else in the comments watching?
Nieky is a kickboxer and it's a very different stance and distance to boxing. Also head movement is not prioritised as much in kickboxing as it can leave you open to head kicks and knees. With that being said, Nieky has an iron chin and J'Leon is quite chinny so I wouldn't bet against Nieky in a proper fight.
He can box when he’s fighting cans. Once he faced real competition he kept losing. He got KO by a boxer with a losing record. Porky had him kissing the canvas doing the stanky leg
@@LowenKoniig but that doesn’t make him a bad boxer he’s just not on the level of the top guys, he’s the type fighter that would give elite fighters good work but he will come up short.

Do you? You literally get points in boxing for controlling the tempo, constantly being the one pushing the other guy around the ring counts as controlling the tempo.
@@totenfurwotan4478 Not if you just get jabbed up most of the time. None of these are hurting Nieky, but he's just getting outpointed by throwing a lot less and mostly throwing power shots. Which is how a lot of his losses turn out.

I've been boxing and kickboxing for over 20 years. Boxing's so much more difficult and complex than kickboxing. Although, if they went on kickboxing, Nieky would have destroyed his opponent.
I think boxing is just more refined tbh. However it’s super humbling getting a good leg kick the first time 😮💨
@@rico14 refined? Muaythai has existed centuries before boxing its a war art used to kill originally. It uses 8 limbs boxing uses 2 so do the math…. If it takes years to master hands imagine doing that x4. you clearly haven’t seen to many high level or even mid level kickboxing/muay Thai.
@@radicaled8447 I’ve actually seen a decent amount of high level fights, and no doubt it takes years of arduous training to master. It’s just more refined, because there’s less tools, but you get very proficient at using them. It’s the same taekwondo guys have the flashiest kicks.
I don’t think boxing is more complex… you perceive it that way because from the perspective of the boxer he’s able to move freely using all of his skills… but from the perspective of the kickboxer you feel incredibly limited… your body knows how to react to these attacks in other ways but you can’t it because you’re not fighting that style.. but the boxer isn’t limited so he’s able to use all his technical prowess… if the situation were reversed and it was kickboxing sparring you would see all the complexities and finesse that Nieky’s kicking would allow him to do.. including spinning back fist and the boxer would feel limited because he wouldn’t be able to move around like he could in boxing. Both sports are awesome tho!
@@radicaled8447 boxing actually goes back to the 1st Olympics well over 2000 years ago whereas Muay Thai goes back to about the 16th century I think
Holtzken was compensating his lack of hability by throwing really hard punches; Leon was going way easier with the punches; it makes sense since He is far heavier, but I think He went too light considering the power Holtzken was putting in his punches

@@allthingsfighting4518 there is far more money in boxing than kickboxing so if Nieky was the pure boxer you claim he is he wouldve left kickboxing a long time ago. Saying Nieky could "finish" love on the ropes is ridiculous and dont talk about being in the gym because Ive trained at TMT and Simson Gym in Suriname. And as far as Callum Smith he is a England level fighter in a weak divison and no one outside the Smith family can name his "best" win. If he fought the people Porky fought he'd have similar results. As far as headkicking a guy in a boxing gym...try it and see how it works out.

Nieky is a great kickboxer, but his boxing skills can use some improvement (footwork, head movement especially).
I thought he looked pretty good. He doesn’t have to exaggerate his headmovement, just have to move his head about an inch.
He looked just a tad stiff maybe.
And he still managed to fight Callum Smith
I think he looked fine.
I think his footwork and head movement are currently 'fine tuned' for kickboxing (and they have been since January 2016). If he started boxing all the time instead of kickboxing, then I would suspect he would be more relaxed and confident in his footwork and head movement. He's got nice shape though

Kickboxing just doesn't require the same level of boxing skill. The legs rule out many boxing movements (bobbing and weaving could get kicked/kneed in the face).
