This video brought back so many memories of when my sister and I stood in a line for hours to buy these BB for our kids to only end up at the Goodwill! OMG! Another great and informative video Amy! ❤️ ya!
Oh my! I was in college during that craze, so I missed the lines! This woman was definitely collecting them in multiples as if they would be worth money in the future. It’s a shame. She could have invested in something else.
I know this video is a year old, but I am still going through your videos and I just have to say I got a walrus in my little package and it totally made me smile when I bought something from you. It was so adorable and unexpected and it sits with the Squishmallows on my dad's rocker. He would have loved it. He was a child at heart like me. :)
Wow! That’s ton of Beanie Babies… they are cute. Thanks for doing all that work. I am so happy that you were able to be with your aunt & enjoy the time… I would have been alone & I know I would have thrown in the beanie baby & said “enough! It’s not worth it!” 😂🤣
Thanks Amy. Such a informative video. I never collected beanie babies but know a lot of people who did. I never really collected anything but high end vintage purses. They tend to keep their value. You are truly good at investigating and thank you for the time you took to inform us. Much appreciated.
Thank you so much. My daughter in law started looking them up because my mother in law came across some in her closet. The prices were outrageous. So I’m starting to go through mine. You helped me to understand the worth. I’m still in love with them they’re tucked away and in bags. Im not sure how many I have?? My mother in law my sisters in law and myself went crazy over these cute stuffed animals. It was a very fun time for all of us! 💕
Thanks, Amy! It was lots of work, but probably helpful to lots of people😊. My best friend collected them from the jump, she was also a huge snow baby collector. I was never interested in anything modern…but they made her so happy!….I guess that’s what really mattered♥️
J&P: I must say that I 110% agree. It’s important, in my opinion to find something daily that makes me smile or happy. Weather it’s purchasing something, or listening to music, or simply sharing my smile with a stranger and getting one in return!! I enjoyed reading about your best friend and sharing your memories of her. 😃
I love that! 💕 I saved a bunch of “woodland critters” for my new grand-nephew. I’ve been collecting books for him so I guess now he’ll have reading buddies! 🤗
I bought my son Lizzie when they first came out, he still has it but no more paper tag and the tush tag is so worn. He carried it everywhere when he was about 3 years old. And I think we have a McDonalds one that was miss tagged.
My church collects them to put in the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes that go to children overseas. Last year we packed 1271 shoeboxes and we are a really small church! Every box gets a beanie baby or stuffed animal.
Hi. I don't appraise them, I just shared how I looked up values. When I put "1997 Princess Diana Beanie Baby pe pellets" in eBay I see 1,100 listed 76 sold. That means there are ton out there and very few sold. The sold listing show $5-$10.
Hello fellow Amy fans! I went to Shops on the Lake and if you are in Painsville, Ohio area try to shop there. Amy’s booths great and of course I found a couple of things. I just wish I had noticed that there was 20% off in at least one of her booths. Of course, I looked at all the booths while my husband napped in our camper…and found more things! Had I not already hit thrift stores in Rochester, New York and had already filled the back seat of our truck with an old kitchen table and a very vintage twig end table I might have looked harder. There is always next time!
I wish I had known that you were coming to the shops! I would have met you there. I’m only 5 minutes away, so sorry I missed you. I hope you found some treasures!
I wish the timing was better! I would give you the biggest hug! I have no doubt that we will see you again, soon! 💕 Thank you, my friend! ❤️ Say hi to Rog! 👋
I just found 8 beanie babies from 96 in someone's spring cleaning. They are all in great shape just dont have the hanger tags. If they are valuble that would be cool.
Fun find! If you watched my video, I shared that the 1st and maybe 2nd generation BB have a little value. I'd guess that any later ones, especially without tags are not going to be valuable.
I have a box of bunnies that I bust out for Easter. My son calls it the bunny invasion. That and a few bears. I bought them for sentimental reasons and their cuteness factor, so I am not counting on retiring on their value. Lately I got into gnomes. 😂

I think any negative feedback I’ve received from this video came from people who either didn’t watch it, or are upset about the truth. I wish you luck! Ironically, I only listed 1 bear from the entire huge lot, and it just sold this past weekend. (So it took over 2 years for it to sell!)
I have totes full that I collected in the 90s. I thought maybe that they would become something one day, but they never did, lol. Leave it to me to spend time and money on collecting the one thing that is worth a quarter at best in most cases, haha....Loved watching🙂
So many people did the same thing, April! I've had fun making beanie bundles and selling them in my booth. I have seen people sell big lots of them on Facebook Marketplace for a local pickup. Someone, like me, who has a vintage booth might like to add then for a couple bucks a piece. Also, I have had a few people reach out to tell me about charities that will take them for care packages that go over seas. Thanks for watching and good luck with your collection! 🤗
yep, lots of collectibles in the 90's were overproduced and therefore too common to be worth anything. Glad you had fun with your loved one and made this awesome video! I enjoyed it!
@@YOSOBOHO I know. I have a bigger collection than I would like to admit. mostly my daughters (she was gifted them and didn't play with them and they all had hangtag protectors. I've sold a few on ebay but I still have a couple bins. The 90s was a fun time! hehe
Well, see, that was the magic of the Beanies...you got to spend the day with an individual that you❤️love...while being surrounded by cute Beanie🧸Babies...🤘🏼💯✔️
Yes! You’re absolutely right! It ended up being a fun and memorable day. I’ve also managed to sell quite a few Beanies in my booths! So a win win win! 🤗💕🧸
Interesting. This sounds like something Dr. Lori would say. But I haven’t seen any real evidence that there is any value in the majority of beanies outside of the 1st couple generations and some smaller run items. If there is, I’d love to know about it and where you’re pulling sales comps so I can be better educated.
Yes Dr. Lori is an excellant resource for the real value. She will tell you what they are worth according to the ones sold not a guess. I also did a lot of research to find the most up to date charts. You have to understand that the ceartian factors that go into what makes a beanie baby worth more than a few dollars. Not only the generation but you need to look at the tush tag to see if it has PVC or PE pellets. The ones with PVC pellets are worth more even in the 4th generation. Also when you look at the tush and see the red stamp on the inside that indicates that the beanie baby is not worth anything. You also have to look at the tush tag and see if it is made in Indonesia, and just because it says made in China does not mean it does not have value. The PVC pellets without the red stamp are worth more.
@@deborahlarive7711 I have asked Dr Lori where she gets the actual sold values, because I use eBay to comp sold values (it’s where I sell and its the biggest sales platform on the planet.) Her response has been that she’s tired of hearing about eBay when there are many other places to sell. I have watched her videos and I am aware of all the possible sales platforms, including more direct/local channels, but she won’t say where she’s pulling her actual sold comps. Do you know? She has a “just trust me, I’m the expert” response, but as a seller, I need a quick and accurate source. My best strategy has been to calculate a sell-thru rate on eBay (# of items sold divided by # listed times 10 to get the percentage) because I know exactly how quickly something should sell and that’s the best gauge for making a buying, for resale, decision. This method has allowed me to increase my monthly eBay sales so much that I’ve had to hire help.
So after watching the video, I have some from 1993 and earlier. Gen 1/2 and some Gen 3’s A lot of the boxes UK bears, Glory Bear, all kinds of them. I’d love to hear drown you if possible
If I was you, I would pull all the First Generation Beanies to see if you have any of the original set. The “Original Nine” Beanie Babies were: Legs the Frog, Squealer the Pig, Brownie the Bear (later renamed Cubbie the Bear), Flash the Dolphin, Splash the Whale, Patti the Platypus, Chocolate the Moose, Spot the Dog, and Pinchers the Lobster. Then I would search eBay for those and filter by SOLD so you can see if any were recently sold, and what they sell for. Be careful though, make sure they are legit sales. check to see if the seller had multiple feedback/history and is a real seller. There is a lot of dishonesty out there. You’ll see that when you look at listings. Now that you know what the 1st-3rd Gen tags look like, you’ll see people posting things as “1st Gen” that are obviously not. Also, the 1st Gen are rare. You may not find listings, or you may just find super inflated, fake account listings. It’s all a bit frustrating. I wish you the best of luck.
@@YOSOBOHO THANK YOU SO MUCH! I sincerely appreciate you taking time to write and share this with me. I will definitely do what you’ve said. That makes a lot of sense about the overpriced ones. I’ve seen ridiculous prices on eBay. I do actually have a number of these you’ve mentioned. The tag is the small “Ty” with no gold star so I’m assuming those are 1gen
I’m not an expert and can’t help you on values. In my opinion, the best way to look up comps is to see what sold on eBay…when I do a search, I see 7,900+ listed and when I filter for sold, I see 600 sold. If you sort by highest price you’ll see a bunch of scam listings and then some that sold for bigger money. Check the seller for each to see if they are legit. That may give you some insight. Sorry I can’t be more help.
I have one plastic tub, thats it. I have my favorites which the turkey pumpkin and Santa and my bears and bunnies. But the others I want to get rid of.
I have a few hundred beanie babies from when my kids were little in the mid 90s. This video was super informative maybe I’ll make 10 or $15 on the three or 400 beanie babies. Thank you…
Oh no, Nancy! 🤗 Find someone who has a booth at a vendor mall. They may take them off your hands for more than that! Actually, check the thread here for a viewer named “Cinque” they were looking to buy some form me! Thanks for watching! 💕
I can only suggest that you look for 1st generation, and 2nd generation tags to sell individually, and then maybe create a Facebook Marketplace post to sell them in lots. Good luck!
So glad you took one for the team and did this! I am always curious when I see them out and about. Nobody in my family ever collected BBs. You are awesome!
I've got a few rare ones for cheap. I even have the white bear with the brown nose and many errors on tag. I've got gobbles the turkey and millennium seaweed why's the owl and wiser? The owl? I've got so many different ones, like probably fifteen different beanie.Babies i've even got the giraffe
@ it may help to read some comments, too. Here was my advice to someone who inherited several boxes: If I was you, I would pull all the First Generation Beanies to see if you have any of the original set. You may not find listings, or you may just find super inflated, fake account listings. It’s all a bit frustrating. In my experience, there is a lot of misinformation out there. I wish you the best of luck.
Awww I wish I watched this a long time ago my son who is sick and we found out he has brain tumors and he loves them and carry’s them all all his treatments and I’m looking for some to be donated to my son he loves them
Hi! Thanks for watching. It really depends on the generation. Tag errors can impact value, but usually do not. There are 259 Snorts listed on eBay (with tag errors), and only 13 sold. The highest for $40 but most under $10. If you see very high sold listings, look at the seller to see if they are legit. They usually are not. 😊
I suggest the guide that I used. I include a link to it in the info under the video. It is constantly updated by experts. You’re mostly going to find value in 1st and 2nd generation Beanies. I share that info and what the tags look like in my video. :) Good luck.
I have two boxes of the little creatures. I thought a few might be worth something. But I'm seeing that they really aren't. I'll keep the Doberman. The red dog. A few teddy's. Such a waste of money 20 years ago. Wish I knew then what I know now I suppose. Thank you for sharing.
It was such a marketing ploy! They made people believe that there were a limited number made of each. So many people thought that it was an investment to collect them. 😒 I have sold them for a couple bucks each at my booth. You may be able to sell them in a lot on Facebook Marketplace or eBay.
Omg … this is exactly what I’m dealing with. My mom had 16 tubs filled with these cute critters. Even the bags from McDonald’s. It’s crazy. I have 6 jelly fish if you want some buddies for your new friend 😂
Hi, Lindsay! It was fun to sort them all. I bagged up sets of McDonalds by year (96, 97, 98 and 99). Let me know if you’d like one or 4. 😊 I’d do $10 each set, and throw in some original happy meal bags. 🤗 (plus shipping.) amy@yosoboho.com
Check with the churches to see if they’re going on mission trips. My daughter took a whole box along with her on their trip to give to children in other countries.
Just look for those 1st and 2nd Gen tags. 😊 Anyone who tells you that there are ones worth lots of money is lying. If you do a search for Beanie Babies on eBay, filter to sold and sort by highest, and then ignore all the fake accounts (you’ll recognize them quickly because the have (0) feedback), you’ll see the ones you should look for. Good luck!
I don't know of how you got all of those beanie babies but the beanie babies that you don't know what you're going to do with I would love some of those but I don't know how to give you the money so if you still have those I would be happy because some are worth thousands you just need to find the error tags but yeah...
What ever happened to beanie babies? I never see new ones anymore. They were always so cute and well made you’d think they would still be around. I still have a bin of beanie babies from when I was a kid, we took good care of them. Maybe not worth a lot but I can at least pass some on to my niece and nephew.
I think they still make them, but the "Beanie Boos" got more popular. AT least check your Beanies for the early tags, they may be worth something. =) If not, they do make fun gifts! 🙂 I like your name! Are you also a camper!?! We love our RV time!
I know! I’m with ya! The last 2 weeks have been a blur! I was hoping to donate to children but since covid, lots of places that used to take them no longer do. But my aunt’s close friend is taking them and they will go to children in other countries! 💕
I have a bunch of rare beanie babies worth money. Lefty & Righty in the box. Princess Diana Beers. And more. Looking for buyers. Please let me know if interested.
According to eBay sales comps, unfortunately the ones you mentioned aren’t actually valuable. I learned that most BB are not. Only 1st generation and 2nd generation BB have some value. I show the hang tags in my video so you can see what the 1st and 2nd gens look like.
Thanks for reaching out, but between what was donated and what I have/sold in lots in my booth, I don’t have many left. If you’re looking for specific ones, let me know, and I can check to see at my booth. 🤗
The guide is good in that it gives you the lingo but according to the prices it lists you shouldn’t even waste your time. Better off playing the eBay game with it
The guide is updated regularly by experts, so it definitely gave us a good idea, quickly, that we did not have any valuable BB. I was hoping, that by sharing this experience it would demonstrate that most of these are not worth more than a few dollars each. I listed only 1 (Piccadilly) on eBay. It took months to sell, and I took a lower offer on it.
Oh my dear Amy... that looked like a hang-over headache in the making. I love your, and your aunt's, perseverance. About half way through this video I kept thinking once you have gone through all the painstakingly detailed effort to figure out what you have... once you culled the herd... I would just put them in your shop in a big old bucket or basket for $.50 to $1.00 and then let your customers have fun looking through them. And just maybe get a few bucks for the time you all spent doing your research and digging? It kind of makes me feel sad for people that spend so much money on certain collectibles... thinking it's a good return on investment. I know Beanie Babies didn't cost very much to begin with. And the part that hurts the most??? Is the TY Company made a fortune off of a "collectible" product that (at least for now) has no real collectible value. Kind of sad... seriously. Now that I'm at the end of your video... yeah, you did wisely and very well in how you are choosing to divvy them up and selling them. I love the cat stacks, the dogs stacks... and so on. Very clever marketing... GO YOU!!! Have an awesome weekend... if your glamping... have an amazing time, and don't forget to "share" you adventures with us. Hugs, Penny Sue
Hi, Penny Sue! 💕 Our shop requires individual pricing. I wish a big bucket of beanies would work! We are going to individually price some, if we see the others begin to sell. 😊 There are so many cute ones, but I just don’t know if people care to buy them. I guess we’ll see. 🤔
Sadly those beanies are only valuable to such a small sector and even then its a tiny fraction of what peoples thought they would be. Bankruptcy, divorce and even murder over a perceived value. We were all well played.
If you do appraising I have a CLAUDE the crab I should have evaluated....it has tons the errors ...Capitalized name inside tag. And other punctuation errors...bold inside star with lower case (i) among other errors....no stamp inside tuff tag and handmade in china label with the UK Nurnberg KR market tag ....is it worth anything....want to sell it ? Its listed on ebay under the same user name as here if anyone wants to look at it and let me know....am I tripping or is it worthless?

She has a “just trust me, I’m the expert” response, but as a seller, I need a quick and accurate source. My best strategy has been to calculate a sell-thru rate on eBay (# of items sold divided by # listed times 10 to get the percentage) because I know exactly how quickly something should sell and that’s the best gauge for making a buying, for resale, decision.
This method has allowed me to increase my monthly eBay sales so much that I’ve had to hire help.
@@deborahlarive7711 I'm fairly certain that ALL beenie babies prior to 1998 had PVC pellets. They aren't really rare.
Hey Amy! I'm watching a year later. Hope all those bb have gone to new homes by now
Hi!! I actually have a few left. I sometimes use them as a thank you and additional packing material. 😊
I inherited 5 boxes of Ty beanie babies
and I’d love to have some help going through all mine.
So after watching the video, I have some from 1993 and earlier. Gen 1/2 and some Gen 3’s
A lot of the boxes UK bears, Glory Bear, all kinds of them.
@@kennybeaudrie9021 You’re welcome. 1st Gen are a single tag with no fold. 2nd Gen are a folded tags. :)
I just love them not for sale just love them
Are any of the princess beanie that are of any value ?
I’m not an expert and can’t help you on values. In my opinion, the best way to look up comps is to see what sold on eBay…when I do a search, I see 7,900+ listed and when I filter for sold, I see 600 sold. If you sort by highest price you’ll see a bunch of scam listings and then some that sold for bigger money. Check the seller for each to see if they are legit. That may give you some insight. Sorry I can’t be more help.
I see you’re using your blue “mesh” fabric to wrap!! Good use!! Great haul of FUN!! 👏☺️
I sure am! 🤣
They would be great to hand out for Halloween instead of candy 😊
Yes!! I may just add them to my Halloween giveaways this year! 💕Thanks, Sheryl!
I have alot of beanie babies and I won't sell all of them and mean ,I have boxes of them , can u help me with this .
Hey, thanks! It was a fun day. Now I know how to quickly spot a 1st-3rd gen BB and hopefully that will pay off down the line. 🤞🏻😁
Can't find the info om the Beanie Price Guide! Please help!
No worries. :) Here is where you can buy the Beanie Babies Price Guide that we used:
updatedbeaniebabiespriceguide.sellfy.store/
You did a LOT of work sorting and bundling! Whew!!
It was, but kind of fun. You should have seen us about 3 hours in as we emptied those boxes of the teeny ones! We were both laughing so hard!
I would love to have them I’m 69 years old and still have mine in excellent condition tags and in cases never touch
Cool collection!
Can anyone help me I started collecting today and am wondering how to value them
Did you watch the video? I talk all about an expert pricing resource and what to look for with tags, etc. 😊
@ yes just need a bit more info
@ it may help to read some comments, too. Here was my advice to someone who inherited several boxes:
If I was you, I would pull all the First Generation Beanies to see if you have any of the original set. The “Original Nine” Beanie Babies were: Legs the Frog, Squealer the Pig, Brownie the Bear (later renamed Cubbie the Bear), Flash the Dolphin, Splash the Whale, Patti the Platypus, Chocolate the Moose, Spot the Dog, and Pinchers the Lobster.

In my experience, there is a lot of misinformation out there.
I wish you the best of luck.
@ thank you
Awww I wish I watched this a long time ago my son who is sick and we found out he has brain tumors and he loves them and carry’s them all all his treatments and I’m looking for some to be donated to my son he loves them
Sorry, I'm just seeing this, Kieara. It was held for some reason. Send me an email. I may have a few left over. 💕 amy@yosoboho.com
Ahh I found 3 new 30th anniversary ones at the mall today. They're gonna make me collect all over again lol
lol I sell a lot of them at my vintage booth! Lots of younger kids are loving them too! Maybe they will come back in popularity. Who knows!
Do you already sell everything?? 😅😅
I sold some and donated the rest. :)
Would you be interested in purchasing any of my rare Beanie Babies? I just don't have time to sell them for what they are worth
No thank you. You could list them locally (Facebook Marketplace.) 😊 Good luck!
Snort the bull is a rare one plus there’s errors in the tag
@@YOSOBOHO thanks
Alot of people think princess bear but first generation Halo and Valentino
I need help finding out how much my collection of Bennie baby are worth
I suggest the guide that I used. I include a link to it in the info under the video. It is constantly updated by experts. You’re mostly going to find value in 1st and 2nd generation Beanies. I share that info and what the tags look like in my video. :) Good luck.
My turtle has 2 different dates on it
🤔 it could be a misprint. I don’t know.
Tons on 1st and 2nd Gen in a huge bin.
Awesome! 😊
My daughter lindsay got one every week from meeka my mom. That red pig is an old one
That is so sweet! Our piggies were 4th or 5th generation (they all were 😂)
I have the wallace and his squad set and the peace ✌ bear set
That’s awesome Cinque! 🤗 I was hoping for something amazing!
Awesome video! Thank you!
Thanks so much for the good words!
I have sold them for a couple bucks each at my booth.
Oh my! Did she start collecting early? Did you find any 1st or 2nd generation tags? There are so many tubs of beanies out there.
This is so cool. I wish i could find a sets of those McDonalds ones. I regret getting rid of mine. I would love to go through all those.
I've got a few rare ones you may be very interested in
That red white and blue ones are worth some money
His smile was the biggest selling point when we first met! ❤️ Yes! I was happy that I stopped at GW!
Check with the churches to see if they’re going on mission trips. My daughter took a whole box along with her on their trip to give to children in other countries.
Hi, Cynthia! That’s exactly where they are going! 💕 My aunt’s friend is taking them to her church! ❤️
They go great in Christmas Child boxes too. Lots of churches participate in that
Very he!pful. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment! 😊
Thank you😘
🤗
I feel your pain - I have about 800 to sort through,,,,,,,
Just look for those 1st and 2nd Gen tags. 😊
Anyone who tells you that there are ones worth lots of money is lying. If you do a search for Beanie Babies on eBay, filter to sold and sort by highest, and then ignore all the fake accounts (you’ll recognize them quickly because the have (0) feedback), you’ll see the ones you should look for.
Good luck!
you gave away mistic! bty is that how you spell it?
I probably did. Lol I think it might be Mystic. But I’m not sure. 😊
I don't know of how you got all of those beanie babies but the beanie babies that you don't know what you're going to do with I would love some of those but I don't know how to give you the money so if you still have those I would be happy because some are worth thousands you just need to find the error tags but yeah...
We looked them all up with a reliable resource. No big winners. :) I have sold many of them though. 😊
do you know who buys them?
I don’t, sorry. I have sold some in my booth and have donated a lot. 😊
We had fun, even if we didn't find anything worth $$$$!! LOL
We did! It got goofy! 😂
I like your name! Are you also a camper!?! We love our RV time!
Great info thanks
Hi, Rachel! Thanks for watching! 🤗
if you have turtles, i,m interested if the price isnt too high.
I know there were teeny turtles, I will check to see! The price will be shipping. 😂
OH MYLANTA, how can it be Amy Thursday already. My ex-husbands Aunt collected ALL of them. Most now went to a children's hospital.
I know! I’m with ya! The last 2 weeks have been a blur! I was hoping to donate to children but since covid, lots of places that used to take them no longer do.
But my aunt’s close friend is taking them and they will go to children in other countries! 💕
I just could not afford to buy any I live on a low low social security income and live in California
I show the hang tags in my video so you can see what the 1st and 2nd gens look like.
i am a beanie baby collector and am interested in your collection. if you are willing to sell a few for my collection let me know please!
Thanks for reaching out, but between what was donated and what I have/sold in lots in my booth, I don’t have many left. If you’re looking for specific ones, let me know, and I can check to see at my booth. 🤗
First generation would be just a single tag not folded, no poems. And pellets before they become kid friendly. Just a couple of things to spot first.
Ive got a few rare beanies if anyone would be interested in them.
Oh? How are they rare or valuable? Gen 1?
I have alot of 1st generation
Nice! 😊 Most of the ones I had were 4th and 5th generation.
You can send them to soldiers oversees. They hand them out to the foreign children they come across in small, desolate towns.
What a wonderful idea. 💕 They are headed overseas with a missionary group to areas needed aid.
Hi
Hello! 😊
Gimme a beanie
I want more cuz they are so cool
I'm sorry, they have been sold or donated. Thanks for watching!
If you have any giraffes, I'd like a couple.
I believe there are little ones! I will look when I get home after the weekend! 😊🤗
I have a giraffe
😊💕🙏
Hi Rita! 💕😊😘
I’ll always take you on our adventures! 😘
I’ll always take you on our adventures! 😘
Sadly those beanies are only valuable to such a small sector and even then its a tiny fraction of what peoples thought they would be. Bankruptcy, divorce and even murder over a perceived value. We were all well played.
It is sad. And there are people out there telling people that they still have value. It's frustrating.
too many beanies. glad they weren't baseball cards????
😂 right!
Sorry, I do not do appraisals. Not on beanie babies or anything else. Good luck.
Plot twist: they’re worthless.
😆 truth
