22,000% love all sorts of customized Tuna Salads. My favorite being a Korean version using their stewed spiced tuna, gochujong sauce mixed with the mayo, and mincing tons of various pickled Korean vegetables. As well as the typical celery, red onion, walnut, grated carrot, minced bell pepper.
I love tuna salad because it's super easy. I've also "made" a relatively healthy version and super quick version by combining tuna, store-bought tzatziki sauce (which is basically the same as adding Mayo + other spices. Brand doesn't seem to matter imo), and sweet pickle relish (the secret to every actually good tuna salad). It literally takes me like 2 minutes.
I love it. I make mine with either pantry or frozen: diced onions, garlic, chopped frozen veggies, half mayo half low fat yoghurt, and whatever spices I have.
My most requested lunch as a kid. If I get bored of having it as a sandwich I'll cook some macaroni & make a pasta salad with the leftover tuna salad. I keep my canned tuna in the fridhe so it's cold from the start.
If I had to get something quick to eat, my go to was Dunkin’ tuna on a croissant NOT toasted. Then they discontinued it. Rip (I also eat it all the time at home, all the time as a kid and when I worked at NYC bagel delis through the day.)
Underrated 100% It's also cheap and good when it's hot in summer. Btw do you guys in the US put pasta in it? Here we put a lot of pasta in to make it a whole meal on it's own.
Love it, often combine it and do Tuna + Egg Sallad.... Basically just 1 can Tuna 2 eggs Some homemade mayo salt, black pepper, some paprika, perhaps some chili, some herbs, I often some some chives and parsley... Then I chop in some fresh shallots or red onion into it as well. Put on a sandwich with some fried crispy onion and crisp salad as base to get some crunch. A nice sourdough baguette or similar bread is great.
It's good for days that I need some protein but don't have much time to cook meat. I like lightly frying some corn tortillas to make some taco shells and using the tuna for a filling. Add some onions on top and dip in salsa. Also pretty good in rice bowls, imo.
Did you soften those carrots or are they raw? Interesting replacement for celery, but the size and shape makes me think this sandwich is extra crunchy.
I don't know if it's still made but years ago you could buy tuna stuffed jalapeno right out of a jar in Mexico and when my family and I would go to Mexico (this was when we lived in AZ), we'd eat those up and between the pickling of the jalapenos with tuna stuffed inside them they were so addictive. ❤
Had nothing to eat for lunch today so I rummaged through pantry and saw tuna. So I literally had tuna salad when this came out. So easy to make good. Mayo. Salt. Pepper. Garlic and onion powder. Done. Some cheese if you want. And yea. High protein. 32g a can. Can't beat that especially with the ease.
Tuna straight out of the can with kettle salt & vinegar chips is my go-to lunch! It's an easy healthy option. 😂 I know the chips aren't the best but it's good for me
@@lyricbread Do itttt!! Tell me how it goes afterwards. I like to add Tabasco and red pepper flakes if I need extra flavor. You can add salt and pepper. I just like the lazy way. 😂
Tuna salad is one of those sorts of cheap meals that even people that usually dislike fish can enjoy. Growing up I hated fish, now I'm learning to like it, but even stuff like raw tuna just doesn't do it for me. And maybe it was the cut, it was very metallic tasting but tuna is one of those fishes that is low in calorie and high in protein and everything else that you could possibly need. So I completely agree with you, it's something that I definitely want to practice making and have my own version that I love.
Growing up we had Hawaiian neighbors who made me a tuna sandwich and they put sugar in the tuna and I could not eat it…..but I do like sweet relish in tuna salad !
Tuna salad very underrated. Highly customizable and very inexpensive. Only takes a few ingredients to make a banger tuna salad. My go to was always mayo, onions, celery and sweet relish. A must is go half cheap tuna half albacore.
Aluminium flakes into hundreds of tiny particles if sliced with a knife, especially a serrated knife Aluminum is suspected as one possible cause of Alzheimas disease
Underrated. It's one of those foods my mother used to make all the time when I was growing up. Tuna was super cheap then. Her recipe was: tuna, a quarter of a small onion diced, a large spoonful of sweet relish, mustard and mayo to taste. The tuna mix had to be cold before you slap it on a couple mayo covered pieces of bread. Absolute best way to eat fish IMHO.
It’s also super affordable even if you get the higher quality cans. Easy 3-5 dollar lunch
@Samston we need more animation vids from you. learly the world loves the way you think with all these likes
$5 a china sandwich?! Dang!!!
Tuna salad is underrated imo. Gonna try your recipe. Thanks E.
Is it? I think tuna salad is appropriately rated, it's a very popular dish... at least in the US.
Canned fish and seafood is super underrated here in America. You can do so much with it and it’s so convenient

Cauliflower puree can make the mayo stretch further too!
I love tuna salad. Mayo, dill relish, dill, salt and pepper, celery, green onion

Yep! That’s what I use or whole milk yogurt and a dash or sour creamb
Im gonna try that
If you season correctly you can sub mayo w Greek yogurt but it’s gotta be right
Do you wear headphones to hear your inner monologue?
I’m always like “I’ll save the rest for later” and eat half of it with crackers by the time I’m done putting it away
A $1 can of tuna from Wal-Mart gets me 2 sandwhiches. Pretty hard to beat, it's WAY cheaper than any other canned/deli meat and healthier too.
Mercury poisoning has entered the chat.
I like tuna heated up in a pan with olive oil, over noodles, pasta, or bread. Delicious
I use a little chopped onion salt and pepper and of course a little danish mayonnaise it’s a bit different from US mayo👌

I love tuna with mayonnaise especially on ritzs
But what about the mercury?
Tuna salad recipe where I can add the tuna at the last minute at work? No fridge or microwave required?
I think it's best with miracle whip
Love it. Relish mustard and mayo. I am happy.
Remember the parallel
No mayo / No sanity
Well since a lot of tuna is nearing extinction i wouldn't say it's underrated.
Try it with Greek yogurt instead of mayo
Provided quality tuna is used. I like Wild Planet
I love tuna salad sandwiches
Aluminium flakes into hundreds of tiny particles if sliced with a knife, especially a serrated knife
Aluminum is suspected as one possible cause of Alzheimas disease
Cilantro is 🤤🤤🤤
I agree
I'll just stick to my standard butter+liver pâté combo on my sandwiches
Being Palestinian, my “tuna salad” is olive oil based with chopped onion tomato chili and lemon juice
What can I use instead of mayo if I don’t like mayo
fish in mayo goes a long way
I use fage greek yogurt instead of mayo....with hard boiled eggs it tastes very much the same!
I replace Mayo with Avocado. Its delicious
This guy is using Duke's mayonnaise. He obviously knows how to cook by using the greatest mayonnaise in the world. 👍🏻
Put that inbetween 2 pieces of whole wheat bread or wtv ur favorite and ahhh
Nice stache my man
Why throw away the water / oil when that is the absolute essence of the product ?
He was a good boy and used Duke's mayonnaise. The right mayonnaise.
subway tuna. those who know, know.
Cheap. High protein. Delicious. Use light tuna (lowest mercury levels)

Tua salad can be quite good. But put it between slices of toast, not between sides of some thick over-bready roll.
