What a fantastic video, enjoyed seeing the high/relief of arriving after a passage and then the excitement of living a life long dream of being anchored in this legendary area. Enjoy.
I’m now five episodes in one night (of yours) and loving it. Way better than La Vagabond, Delos, et al. I have corked a smile and cracked a boney laugh so many times. Bloody hell. 😂
Loving following your posts! Just got back from Fiji - in process of getting a boat and hope to be there soon to sail her around. You certainly do provide soooo much inspiration! Awesome
Hi guys, love the videos, great job. Beautiful videography, your editing is top notch. Appreciate all the work you put into them. Subscribed and looking forward to what's to come. Take care!
Hey guys, only just found your channel and sure glad I have already watched all the ones since Rio. I've been looking at buying catamaran similar to yours and starting in the gold coast to learn to sail. I was wondering what costs are involved living in GC including maintenance and everything Thanks so much
Hi Scotty, thanks for watching mate. And welcome to the dream! It's a process but the end result is extremely rewarding. If you're living aboard and you have your solar and Watermaker system set up right, you have no rent, no power, no water bills. So just keeping the boat going. About 3k per year for haul out, anti foul and engine parts, and then the big one which is insurance. Coastal not so bad but for international, anywhere from 7-10k per year depending on the boat. The key is being able to do all the work yourself, if you can do that, it's cost effective. Plan ahead and you can do it!
@@SailingSVRio perfect just what I wanted to hear, And how was it with the little one we have one on the way you already had experience with latitude before having Kaia do you think you could do all of it at once?
Do you mean at Cloudy? We anchor on the inside of the reef and take the tender and either anchor the tender around the break or tie to a mooring or other boats. On some of the surf breaks we manage to anchor Rio near and just paddle out but not always the case
Yew! Awesome video guys. Lots of fun to be had!

Vinaka! Thank you (in Fijian)

How did you manage to anchor there ???? Easy hard ?
