NEW BOSS LYCH EXPLAINED

- Lych, The Gravelord, is the newest boss to BTD6. Lych draws power from others, healing itself when monkeys are sold or buffed. Any temporary buff that you use like abilities or stronger stimulant are subject to getting eaten by lych. Sadly, this includes overclocking and even permabrew. Luckily, you can still use support sun temples or villages, as they are permanent, static buffs. When damaged to a Skull, Lych becomes invincible, revives undead MOAB class Bloons, releases a fast Lych-Soul, and steals lives as long as it remains ethereal. Luckily, the stolen lives have to go through your manashield first, but you should get some 0-2-3 farms to bolster your life count. Revived MOABs and the Lych-Soul must be destroyed before Lych will return to normal state, and Lych can revive all MOAB class Bloons besides BADs.

Lych is a great addition to BTD6 IMO. What do you guys think and what else should I cover about the update?
Idk if it’s worth covering, but the x-x-4 and x-x-5 sniper’s damage type have been changed from normal -> sharp so they can’t pop leads by themselves anymore and the inferno afk method with them doesn’t work anymore :(

Minor thing: Lych doesn’t steal lives while ethereal, it’s the Lych Soul bloon that drains lives, so make sure to hard-target it
Ooor you can actually use it to use abilities like bomb blitz or elite defender, kinda usefull but not really 😅
Master Bomber only does 2× the damage of sticky bomb
It astounds me how people don't know how to read. It literally says that it will drain buffs and heal itself, half of reddit is imploding because people say it's impossible

So many people are having a tantrum saying that it's impossible because they can't be bothered to read the boss description.
Personally I think it's a really cool boss and it's fun to actually have to think instead of just trying to get the highest possible damage output on a slow moving boss with 40000000hp
It was really funny watching ISAB's video since he was completely clueless to the buff stealing ability of Lych.

I agree. I like actually being challenged by a boss. Bloonarius was too easy. Even the lack of a vengeful left a lot of room for error.

I didn't know anything bout it and I went in blind with the same strategy I used for Bloonarius, well somehow I reached the last face of them with a MAD and a Biggest one both with 10x Ultraboost and Permabrew and I was really confused as to why they were healing constantly, then I read the wiki and wondered how tf I reached that far
Lych boss forces you to use paragons as they are immune to stuns when it's nearby them.
Lych only stuns towers with temporary buffs like alch buff, overclock, and including homeland defense, which lych then makes a global tower stun to all non-paragon towers
I know Lych is radically different from bloonarius but it still just spawns bloons

I do believe that is the entire premise of the game
I mean, Lych doesn't really just spawn bloons. MOABS that were popped will respawn where they were popped, meaning if a MOAB gets popped pretty late into the track, you will not be able to beat it in time before it reaches the exit. Plus the fact that Lych has an ability to steal lives VERY rapidly in the higher elite tiers means you really *need* to deal with Lych's soul as fast as possible before it just kills you.

The thing is with Lich reviving bloons you pop, this means that the faster you pop lich, the easier it is to deal with. This is best with abilities such as rocket storm because it can take a lot of health very quickly making it so you don’t have time to pop many MOAB class bloons
If you pop more bloons, you get more income (i think)
So it may be worth letting it on screen for as long as possible if your defense is adequate

In my opinion Lych is probably a lot more challenging to deal with than bloonarius.
Tier 1 killed me with fast MOABs and fast Lych. No amount of any anti-MOAB towers can help with that. Lych had over 10,000 health by the time it reached the middle. The fight itself is just inconvenient since farmers are disabled.

I think this is a REALLY COOL boss bloon since it’s not just a DPS check like Bloonarius (that’s not a bad thing btw) and forces you to play differently, which imo is pretty cool.
top tip: due to it being triggered on life loss, the lych-soul bloon's life drain triggers bomb blitz ability, killing the resurrected moabs
Much more interesting than just giga blasting dmg and stacking buffs on buffs, which is the dull gameplay of btd6, so imo this is turning the game on its head as much as it can on a single event. Awesome job from NK.
I've also noticed that the revived bloons are much beefier than normal moabs. I was doing tier 1 elite and was struggling to kill the revived moabs

Getting nostalgia from watching this back when Lych first came out :')
I find it interesting that nk added the Ninja paragon as a counter to the lych. The ninja is notorious for alchemist combo so this decision seems contradictory to me. However the static buffs don’t get consumed like you mentioned which is something the ninja also does very well so I guess it still makes sense.
What’s a static buff.
@@DjJayDizzle1 buffs that are granted by a tower being in range of another tower. achl buff doesn’t count though and abilities like call to ATMs also don’t count. Idk if they are officially called static buffs or If I just made the word up

I lost so many times on R135-138 to Bloonarius 'cause of that.
It was fun doing normal while over-dps-ing the heals lol.
So basically , we need to avoid buffs like potion monkey defense etc ?
Yes, it will consume them and heal itself and it seems like the heal scales with it’s own health

I love this new boss, a very unique idea tbh, and he reminds me a lot of the Lich from AT lol
Basically, the only buffs he doesn't eat are village buffs (except call to arms and homeland), temple buffs, Carrier Flagship buff, Sub buffs, PoD buff, Poplust, Shinobi Tactics and all hero buffs. Everything else should be avoided. I'm not sure about debuffs such as Super Brittle and Cripple Moab, but I believe they're also fine.

The 4th tier middle path sub makes the lych soul very trivial. It one shots it in the first two stars, which is good bc you can't afford any good paragons at that point
For some reason Lych can eat super monkey fan club transformation and it's really funny

I beat t5 elite. t3 was super close, but I got ninja paragon for t4, which she soloed with supports, and got a VTSG for t5
Sheesh. But yes, that makes sense the the VTSG buff works too
A fun non-meta tower for Lych is Bomb Blitz so when the Soul Bloon takes Lives it would pop the Soul Bloon

I think Ultraboost is still usable, just don’t use the ability during the boss fight. You must buff it only before it arrives.
It will still take away the buffs you have on it even if you apply them before. Also using the ability doesn't count as a buff I don't think.

Can confirm it eats up the stacks from ultraboost, i used it on the 520 farm, and was wondering if i clicked the wrong farm cause it didnt have stacks

Elite lych is hard because since you have to use the farm that gives less money it's harder to get VSG.
This boss is definitely easier from my experience but I spammed 024 farms to have a lot of lives so I kinda focused on health which is much less than bloonarius so I found it pretty easy
Noice, I haven't beaten elite yet, but I've only tried once and almost killed tier 3. It doesn't seem too difficult
A quite easy to takedown boss but have some trick on its sleeves.
I want a boss that the more damage you do a second to it the faster it goes so you need to control the dps at a minimum the whole circuit

Somethting that I don’t see anyone talking about: Shinobis are safe! I beat elite mode by ninjas basically being my only damage until tiers 4 and 5 where I got the other two paragons

2-0-5 bomb shooter is really good, whenever lych takes your lives he dies because of this ability, but i'm a noob and died in 4 tier
0-2-5 bomb is better, 2-0-4 is better for tier 4

@@ArchivalAdventures476 In some cases, yes. Heavy Bombs adds one damage to each explosion, while Missile Launcher gives 25% more firing speed. Bomb Blitz already provides a lot of extra damage per explosion, so it is better to go for 0-2-5.

In my opinion, this boss is way easier than bloonarius. Maybe it could've been better if the life draining bloon took away lifes at a constant rate that gets faster with each tier, rather than draining a set amount of lives every few seconds. So it wouldn't be a case of "you either lose 17 lives or none at all". And the life draining should probably ignore the mana shield but that could be too far lmao

Because the perma brew has to give the buff to a tower than it's permanent with a village a tower just has to be in its radius

thats what i was thinking, bloonarius you just need popping power and you win, but on this one its so easy to buy buffs and wonder why your loseing xD
