    To add to the confusion, the INTERPASS temperature may be MINIMUM for carbon steels, I.E., your PREHEAT and INTERPASS may be 200F minimum, where are for some alloy's, it may be a MAXIMUM interpass temperature as in your example. The Maximum Interpass temp may be to minimize carbide precipitation in stainless steels. This is one of the most misunderstood areas of welding.
