    Looks like a nice trail for diverse terrain. Great vista's, waterfalls and streams depending on the time of year. We will have to put this trail in our future plans, it's 4.5 hours from where we live. Thank guys for the Great video and all the info.

    OLP was my first backpacking trip. Me and buddy did it and were totally unprepared. Got caught in the rain and then the temperature dropped a good 20 degrees over night. Uncomfortable would be an understatement! Still it was an amazing experience and got me hooked. Came across your channel today, after this and your Black Forest Trail video you"ve earned a sub.

      Thanks for the support! Greatly appreciated. We're glad to hear about your experience on the OLP. "Bad experiences" on the trail make for great learning opportunities to adjust your system and skills to be more prepared. Happy hiking this year!

    Thanks for the great video, guys! I just hiked the exact same route over the last two days. Sunny the first day and rainy the second, just like your trip, but unseasonably warm for late March. It's a fun trail!

    Another PA classic backpacking, on my bucket list. I really enjoy following your hikes. I am glad those Adirondack style lean tos make camping more bearable.

      Thanks Joseph! I agree shelters are handy. Unfortunately mice are often an issue in higher traffic areas. Didn't have any issues at the Doe Run shelter either time I've stayed there.

      @@vistaventures1343 I am glad it worked out well for you and that there were no mice.

    Just did the trail over the weekend! We had a low of 16 the first night. We stayed at the shelters each night which made for a long hike the second day.

      Awesome. A low of 16 is pretty intense to be out in. Definitely didn't have to worry about snakes haha. Hope you enjoyed yourself!

    Awesome little trail. I did in two days last year. It’s was extremely wet when I did it. And the pleasant run stream was waste deep when I did it. For such a small trail, it gets quite crowded on the weekends. I wish some of the other trails in PA would see a lot more foot traffic.
    Thanks for sharing.

      The OLP is a great weekend trail and we were certainly glad to have the log to cross Pleasant stream. Thanks a lot for watching and the positive feedback!

    Really nice adventure, i was suppose to do this trail in May but got sick. Hoping to backpack it in September. The Loyalsock area is awesome, a bunch of trails to explore.

    Was planning a trip on OLP and came across your video. FANTASTIC! I love the fact that you show us the terrain the side attractions and general lay of the land. Just enough detail to make it interesting and informative. Thank you. Any GPS data (if you have it) would be a perfect addition. Subscribing.

      Hi there. Thanks for the positive feedback! We try to make the videos enjoyable to watch but also informative for people planning a trip on that trail. Sorry we don't normally utilize GPS on our trips. We map navigate old school haha. Happy hiking!

    11:14: Stayed up there the last time we did the trail. Beautiful when the fog rolls in at night in the valleys.....Great vid, by the way. I am going to have to do this one again.

    Nice video just subbed. I just did this in the other direction last weekend. You hit it at a nice time a little cooler @24:17 that area has a lot of timber rattlesnakes when we hiked through everyone had to bypass that section of the ridge walk.

    • @vistaventures1343
      @vistaventures1343  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the sub! Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah I'm not surprised there would be a lot of rattlesnakes along that ridge. Both times we've done the trail it was pretty cold so fortunately we didn't have to worry about snakes. Really nice weekend warrior trail.

      Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed it. I'd say be mindful of snakes in August. I've only done the trail in cold weather, but folks that have went in warmer weather commented about rattlers. Enjoy your hike!

    • @deerless2965
      @deerless2965 5 лет назад

      Yea, I should rethink that...I'm thinking of moving this hike to early spring. I have NO experience with Rattlers, and probably shouldn't on a solo hike.

    That strange looking tree was originally altered by the Native American Indians to serve as a trail marker. They are numerous in Minnesota.

    I did the trail in September, and everything was dried up. Made for easy crossing but not fun for water refills

    • @vistaventures1343

      Yeah having little water is never fun when it's hot out. See any rattlers? I've heard they are quite common during the summer months.
