Welcome to Tyria :) Please get to an expansion in Gw2! The base game is nothing compared to the expansions! Not only the base game is 11 years old, but the expansions were designed with a different mindset, with magnitudes better graphics and world-building. Expansions come with the Mastery System: an account-wide progression system, that interacts with the world in a metroidvania manner (this will give you mounts, gliding, fishing, skiffs, zip-lining and other features) Expansions will give you Elite Specializations, and they will turn that boring ranger into a much more intense class combat-wise. Also, the story will get much better too. Most players agree that Path Of Fire is the best expansion. If you don't mind jumping ahead a bit in the story, I wholeheartedly advise starting PoF after you hit lvl 80. If you would want to go chronologically, then you'll need to play Living World Season 1, Season 2, and those are not so great; the story is still too childish, and you'd have to stick with this boring Core-Ranger class you have. Also, Heart Of Thorns is brutally hard if you don't have a good combat-build (most often through an Elite Spec); HoT is not as beginner-friendly as the other expansions.
I picked up two of the expansions: Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire, so I'm eager to see how those reshape the game. The community has been awesome thus far so I'm eager to keep learning.
@@TheOrderofDylanI recommend starting Path of Fire up to the moment you permanently unlock your first mount. Then you go back and do things in whathever order you want. I did that before doing Hearts of Thorns and I do not complain, it did helped me immensly to go through some areas that'd be turned into the slog due to alot of enemies on the path that you can encounter in HoT expansion. Besides it's fun to ride a dino.
@@chillax319 This tip has been outdated for a few months. The raptor is now unlocked at level 10 and becomes permanently unlocked with the purchase of expansions. No need to start PoF and spoil the story just for the raptor.
ive also switched from Diablo 4 to guild wars 2 almost at max level in... under 2 weeks? And really looking forward to the max level story because I've heard the base game is just the tutorial
unfortunately there will always be a few great grinding areas or dungeons in games like these , most places dont have the bandwidth to make 10 different areas to grind and level.. ive been on everquest on and off for nearly 20 years and its just he directions games go in..i have been curious of guild wars .. searching for a game thats similar to EQ
A bearbow ranger, nice, not better way to start the game :D GW2 is often cited as one of the most alt-friendly games, and I think it's deserved. A lot of important things are account wide (for example, all currencies), and once you're "established" in the game, making another max level character ready to do all or at least most end game activities becomes a work of a few hours at most.
i also leave Diablo IV, the game feels incomplete, and also I've been playing Guild Wars 2 since launch specially World vs World is my favorite game mode i really love it every day
The reason why i stopped after like 10 hours, You never feel strong even after unlocking all skill bars, unlike other games where just unlocking a couple of skills made you feel like a god raining death to the enemies. Every level up means taking longer to kill the trash mobs. I don't like the way how the story was conveyed with all of the cut scenes. I couldn't give a shit even though I was looking forward to whats going to happen after RoS. This is coming from a person who read the trilogy book(sin war) and the "book of" released the last decade. I hated how everything feels like its meant to waste your time and play the game more. I couldn't give a fuck to get those altars and the useless quests.
the problem is diablo is not an mmo,it is an arpg and is centered around killing non stop so if thats not what you are wanting to play then GW2 is more for you...diablo 4 has its problems but it has always been a slog from its inception and those of us who like that style of gaming will continue to play it and hope for content...what you are leaving out is how hard the end game of GW2 really is...for instance...just to get the skyscale mount takes weeks of slogging to complete all the daunting objectives and areas you have to get to to just complete 1 of the many quests to get it on top of the fact thatr the questline is time sensitive and you have to wait 2 hours between each objective before starting the next...kinda makes killing demons in a dungeon over and over just a tad more enticing
you are wrong, the skyscale is now just given to you for useage in the newest expansion Secrets of the Obscure ( maps) as the maps are centered around flying mounts, with the ability to unlock it in a more streamlined, accessible way for usage in the rest of the Tyrian game world. i got the skyscale in path of fire originally, that took me over half a year, this expansion takes over- not even half a week. ( i did it in the new expansion again because there is another achievement tied to that aswell, a free ingame earnable mount skin.
Will you be playing Season 2 of Diablo 4?
probably not
I'll see what they have to offer, if nothing changes then it's goodbye to diablo and blizzard forever.
lol if i could refund the game then I would

Guild Wars 2 looks kinda cool. I never really paid much attention to it tbh.
Worth a try. Some of the best storytelling I’ve seen in an MMO and the community has been super chill.
Good work on your video!
Thanks Darklight!
great video, love your editing 👍🏽
Thanks!

Happy to see you playing GW2! It's such an underrated game IMO!
The community vibe so far has been outstanding. Super welcoming and helpful.
I think this is a good choice on your end ngl

Guild Wars 2 Is Goated, Try It If You Havent (This Is Biased)
Super biased! But fair! :D

we need filler games till path of exile 2 launches :P
Gw2 has one of the most positive communities ever! Welcome!
Everytime I asked a question in open chat or during a dungeon, someone has been quick to answer and just be super helpful. It’s honestly refreshing.
