I think Timo still has this voice somewhere inside him. It's not about age or confidence; it's simply about having energy. Endless touring year after year is like trying to be a machine and the human body cannot cope with that stress long-term. Preserve your energy and you can recover any notes you apparently lost in your burnout years. Listen to Roy Khan. He 'lost' his voice in a tiny period of 2000-2005/6. He stated burnout as the source - nothing more. His voice will return with a good rest :) x

I think the main thing why his vocals sound a bit off in this one is the mixing of them imo. The very high notes (1:55 for example) does not cut through the mix, but his "normal" range does. The EQing makes his head voice/tenor voice sound "annoying". He's also out of breath, uses way too much force to get through it, some notes are a bit off, otherwise he just sounds like that. I think it's very impressive and sounds amazing.

Do not be cruel, the guy forces his voice too much. It was a hard record for him. I appreciate that he faced singing those 'Elements' songs lived.
