#1 sounds right, especially when you mentioned overly talking about them with other people, in my case it’s a person that he chose over me over a year ago, he has also continuous empathise that we are just friends, friendzone, nothing more (4 of cups). He wouldn’t talk about it he’s relationship with the person he’s chosen, but jeez he’s been overly talking about it in the last month, in every sentence, which is super weird. I haven’t shown in any way that I liked him anymore out of respect of his relationship.
