Honestly I feel like E2s are a lot less worth considering than E1s, even the really OP ones like Acheron's E2, unless the character's E1 is also really strong. Acheron's E1 is not, and her S1 is probably more cost efficient than going for her E2 if you can't or don't want to get both; there's plenty of characters with E1s/S1s that already make them OP (Firefly for example, her E1 is really strong). Also, if you only ever plan to vertically invest in a few characters, supports are probably going to last a lot longer than any hypercarry characters (especially Ruan Mei and Robin, HoYo would have to COMPLETELY change the meta to make either of them not good in the future), so unless you are 100% committed to using a particular hypercarry for at least a year or two, getting Ruan Mei's and/or Robin's E1s are probably the single most efficient vertical investments you can make in the game. Also, that disclaimer at the start of the video is extremely vague. I shall clarify, it is POSSIBLE to clear all endgame content with max stars with only E0S0 characters, but it will be really difficult if you don't have at least one team that can take advantage of the cycle buffs.
I like your version of the disclaimer a lot more. Don’t think I could have cleared all cycles of endgame content since 1.3, if my Imbibitor Lunae and Seele were E0S0 instead of E2S1. I really like vertically investing in characters, since it means I can for the most part just use the same two teams in every game mode, instead of having to pull and build new teams with characters I like less.
I have e2 sparkle, and e1 robin and I will say they're worth it if u wanna do a horizontal investment. And e1 robin is the best e1 in the game. It's a e6 in disguise but in e1. Luocha e6 gives res pen of 20% yeah as a debuff but Robin's gives 24%. So yeah in perspective get her e1 it's so good lol
Id def get e1 over the lightcone. She has the best e1 and keep in mind when u activate her concerto state the buff is like ruan mei ultimate buff where it gives u res pen. So basically u have a ruan mei buff on the concerto buff. Its that good. Her lc is not as good. Ur better off using better tomorrow lc or meshing cogs. @mediumsurmoon6283

1:39 As an E2 Imbibitor Lunae player, I just want to mention the downsides of E2. Buffs that are based on Imbibitor Lunae’s turns will go down quicker, so his extra attack will not be buffed by a Sparkle skill and will make Tingyun less skill point friendly (maybe even skill point neutral). Secondly, having E2 makes Imbibitor Lunae use more skill points. That’s because you no longer have two Squama Sacrosancta stacks for your next turn, like you would with E0-E1. This makes Sparkle a necessity if you want to get buffs and use his fully enhanced basic attack each turn. Though I still think the pros outweigh the cons, since you can do stuff like giving him an ERR rope to get a ridiculous amount of free turns in pure fiction.
I want to get E1 robin but i think its time to start saving for 3.x cuz if they're going to bring another character from hi3 he or she is going to break the game just like acheron did and lets not forget about the fate collab

What I observed in regard of Es and LCs is that It's a hybrid between Genshin and HI3. In HI3, gear is essential for a character, it's an insane boost, but Rank Ups (equivalent of Eidolons or Cons) are pretty underwhelming. In GI, weapons aren't that great of an upgrade (although recently it changed a little), but cons are extremely strong. In HSR, you have something in between. both Eidolons and signature LCs are good upgrades, but not outstanding like in other games. Honestly, I like that solution, because it feels more liberating.The only issue for a lot of people that I've noticed is that signature LCs are hyper-specific for given character and aren't universal, like some weapons in Genshin. I don't see this as a problem for myself, because signature is signature, and even if for example Fu Xuan LC would be great for Aventurino, I wouldn't use it on him anyway, because it's not his.
i dont really have too much time since i started to play star rail, but my first 5 star is robin, and i decided to get her e1 that same banner, now that she's rerunning i got her light cone, i hope i can get Ruan mei's e1 or her light cone, but not sure what is better if Light cone or her e1...
for Ruan Mei? E1 is the more universal increase in my opinion, since her LC only adds 30% DMG (I think?) which is not needed in a break team and a +1 SP which shouldn't be a big problem if you're using Gallagher instead of Lingsha
its wild how E1 Robin is basically a better version of Ruan Mei. or at least a Ruan Mei who doesn't focus on break. i originally used Ruan Mei for my KafkaSwan team but Robin's attack boost (and now res pen bonus from getting her E1) made me move Ruan Mei to other damage dealing teams
I have both E2 Firefly and E1 Robin on another account, and I will definitely say they are not necessarily since Firefly is already able to kill the enemy really fast however as of now her E2 as much as i hate to say it isnt really necessarily since her E2 is situational since it activate on whether it break or kill. That itself is a problem since some end game stages have one big boss and no allies so it just kinda pointless. Dont get me wrong it powerful in the right situation or basically meh every other times. Robin E1 is so goated that my f2p account was able to clear end game contents with ease, and Robin is the only 5 star support eidolon I have on that accunt. The other one I have on the f2p account is Blade and I rather not talk about it
actually, it is impossible to get full uptime on ruan mei ult outside of calx or e6. The best you can do (unless u run meshing cogs and get hit like 20000000 times) is a 2t ult, and even then for a 2t ult, you have to have 124% er and even then sometimes you cant get full uptime with sig, so you need a s3+ motp.
@@yoyododo9234 I run memories of the past S5 on ruan mei. and Ruan mei sig cone on Hmc , Ruan Mei is always having her ult before it runs out so yeah it is possible she is e1. Why you think it’s impossible without e6 if I can do it ?

Jade is barely a character without her E1 but once she has it she’s amazing, she pairs great with Feixiao once she has it and can get up to 12 stacks every time it’s Fei’s turn if things work out correctly
Yeah ive never been able to full clear content in this game, all my characters are E0S0, I got 35/36 stars in MOC, only got 9/12 stars in PF and couldnt even beat the last stage in AP. This game has wild powercreep so it is what it is
That's more of a you issue than a powercreep issue. You're either not building characters correctly (either bad relics, not enough talent levels, not fully levelling LCs, etc.) or not investing properly into teams. Also should probably considering getting some E0S1 or E1S0 characters to boost your account if you're struggling that much. Lots of really good ones like Robin E1 or Topaz S1 that hugely buff tons of teams. There's plenty of super F2P low investment teams that can easily clear all content like Firefly teams or Acheron teams. Even the Feixiao team is relatively F2P friendly being able to use Hunt March instead of Topaz or Gallagher instead of Aventurine. I have a few limited Light Cones but the only really invested character I have is Acheron E2 (the only other limited 5* Eidolon I have is Jade E1) and I don't even use her every MoC, and I've barely used her in Apocalyptic Shadow. Was even able to clear 1st half of this MoC using the DoT team with E0S0 Kafka E0S0 Swan E0S0 Ruan Mei E0S0 Huohuo, which isn't considered very meta at the moment. Yunli teams are also really F2P friendly and can use a ton of different units, and still clear MoC or AS no problem. Also Dr Ratio is a character everyone has and he has a million viable teammates and clears content with no issue.
I've been playing for 3 months and I get full stars on pf, 30/36 stars on moc and 3/4 in ap, and my units don't even have maxed out traces, I only have 3 promo units and 2 promo light cones
@@hallyuniverse I dont have Dr.Ratio and my only two teams are Kafka and Firefly. Kafka team took 8 cycles to clear and firefly couldnt beat aventurine in 2 because of his dice gimmick. Guess it is just relic diff idk 🤷♂

Obviously an account isn't going to be fully built in that time or have a huge variety of characters. Also there hasn't been any real "powercreep" since you've started playing. Free Ratio ended at the end of 2.1, 2.2 was Robin + Topaz rerun + Fu Xuan rerun, 2.3 Firefly + Ruan Mei rerun, 2.4 was Yunli + Huohuo rerun + Sparkle rerun, 2.5 is Feixiao + Robin rerun and Topaz 2nd rerun will be in a week or so. You've literally had access to every single one of the top meta characters except Acheron and Aventurine if you started in 2.2. The Kafka team sucks without Swan + a limited Harmony (Robin or Ruan Mei) so that's probably your issue with that team.

I got Black Swan's e1 and it makes her an awesome sub dps even in non dot teams. I use Dotcheron and my ladies wipe the floor with content
Honestly Aventurine E1 literally makes him an SP positive character since you never have to press his skill ever again like it’s so good😭😭😭😭
If you are having SP issues with Aventurine at E1 then you have to build your Aventurine right

I maybe would call Fu Xuan E1 as a honerable mention since having a tank that also gives 12 % crit rate and 30 % crit damage is kinda crazy.
