1:55 - 2:01 is the most important bit. Get that right and you will go well. Note to Americans: learn metric. Nobody uses feet and inches in the high jump any more, not even the Brits. Use it not only to measure your jumps but know how tall you are in metric too.

pole vaulting is my favorite athletics exercise. All the physics behind it is amazing. To transform forward momentum to vertical thrust, and then to turn back into horisontal movement to get over the bar is incredible. And the strength needed to throw yourself up and over while accelerating upward is at the very limit of what a human body in peak condition can do.
There is not As much physics in high jumping, but there are still enough to make it more then a little impressive. Jumping higher then there own height is pretty incredible.

Pole vault is definitely the most technical event. People don't realize how difficult and physically demanding it is. As a high jumper in college it was 2nd nature to me, but people always told me how amazing it is after watching me jump.

He is just an ordinary citizen!! He can express his displeasure about these events, he can join gun control rallies, he can join protests, but he is not the one who has any power to actually implement laws that will to all 330 million American people across all 50 of your country's states!! You think he can be the one who can go to Congress and convince those idiots to ban guns?? No! Only those in charge are able to do that!
