Hello Jodi…thanks for all the information with this video…congratulations on your first year FlossTube Anniversary…you are a great addition to FlossTube!!Love the framing of G Leger 1898…I watched all the programs you spoke of with my children…I believe a lot of people do not recognize joy in their life until they are older…great job framing G Leger…thanks for the recommendations for FlossTube… you have so many beautiful samplers showed in this video…loved them all…thanks for the memories with my kids…wishing you much joy and happy stitching/quilting/wool appliqué ❤️🔆❤️
Hi Loretta! I appreciate the kind words on the framing, I learned that pinning a larger piece like that takes some fiddling for sure. I'm not sure if you remember, but I left the bottom margin short when I accidentally started a bit too far down on the piece of fabric so it added some challenges but I think it came out okay.
Your opening jingle was in my head most of the day! Its too cute. Lucky you and your sibling(s) for having such a creative dad! And your laughter is infectious. I love it.
Your necklace is SO COOL! I use my yarn scale to weigh my parcels! "Millions of voices crying out and then being silenced." You threw a SUPER obscure Star Wars quote AND you changed a sampler like a BOSS!! Hard agree on Kristi!!! She's INCREDIBLE!
Hi Michelle! Thank you, I love that necklace. I knew the viaduct needed to come down for safety and all the other reasons, but it's nice to have a little piece of it. And right?? Kristi is awesome. Here's to hoping we all get to hang out sometime in the future when it's safer for everyone. How heckin' fun would that be?
Hi Jodi. Wow! So much beauty today. Your G Leger looks fabulous all framed and finished. I think it’s good when we can personalise little elements of some of our stitching. You have so many wonderful charts kitted and ready to go. You’re on a great journey and it’s nice to be following along. Your little theme tune is amazing!!
Love those Prairie Moon patterns. I think I remember when they were released back in the dark ages. I also love that horse. Of course it goes with absolutely nothing in my house, but it brings back so many happy memories of me riding.
As usual, your video was chock full of beautiful designs and great humor. I am looking forward to seeing those three prairie moon designs stitched together.
Thank you Alexis! And yes!! Love your video and all your projects, so much fun! (By the way, I also have the headset and shooty video games - not CoD, but similar - and the swearing at other players and all the things. It makes me chuckle to think that somewhere out there is a 15 year old kid who has no idea he just got mapped by some chick who is old enough to be his grandma.)
@@trixietricycle omg my wife would love you!!! ❤️she says the same thing 😂 like they don’t know that just got their butts handed to them by old lesbian playing COD in her pjs 😂😂😂
I love how you describe our part of the state :). After spending time in Utah and enjoying the beauty of their state…I couldn’t help to be excited to return home where there are trees that want to be here…real mountains that aren’t little rolling hills. Every state in the union has its own beauty but the PNW….wins for me in so many ways ❤️. I LOVE your “T” take on your sampler….perfect!
I had the same experience spending some time working in the mid-atlantic and northeastern part of the country in the early 2000s. Beautiful in lots of ways (distinct seasons with dramatic color changes in leaves, etc) but nothing compares to the enduring green and ACTUAL mountains. : )
Fun fun fun. It was cool hearing about the Alaska Viaduct. I think I ran on that for the Seattle Mararhon one year. I did not know it had been torn down. I also loved your story about the Electric Company and thus the changes in your G Ligi sampler. Well done! I am a strong believer in making things your own. I started my own floss tube and hope to share all my little personalization I have done on various pieces.
That was always a neat stretch for that race (I ran the half one year - I was more of a plodder than a runner lol). I'll check out your channel and look forward to seeing your projects. : )
I really should take notes as there was so much I wanted to comment on (mostly agreeing with your colour, fabric or creative licensing choices I think.) loved it
Thank you for showing your finishes. I love the Tessies T you added!! I do remember The Electric Company. Your piece looks so good on the haunted. Xoxo
I love a lot of that stash you found on Craigslist! You must be checking daily... I haven’t been too successful there. Would love to go junkin’ up in Snohomish with you. It amazes me how well you stitch with what? Only after a couple of years?? You rock, girl! 😎
Jody, I cannot believe you have only been serious into xstitch for a year. You are incredibly prolific!! I have been slowly kitting G Leger. Just got the silks. Looking for perfect fabric. Yours is STUNNING!! And I adore the Electric Company reference. My formative programming every day during the week was Sesame Street, Mr Rogers, The Electric Company and Zoom…. Box 350, Boston MASS, O 2 1 3 4. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for taking the time to do these videos for us. Your G Leger is absolutely gorgeous. I’ll alter the lower “left” also. I’m going to start mine this fall. Kitted, in project bag and ready to go.
Hanna, that is a great idea - I think washi tape would definitely work to keep the cards in place for the trip and then would easily come off upon arrival. Love it!
Oh, my! The pieces you are stitching are gorgeous! I have about 10 minutes more of stitching on my strawberry fields forever and I don’t know why I’m not finishing it. Maybe because it was so much fun to work on and I don’t want it to end! Your recommendations of floss tubers are amazing… I have watched them both before and agree they’re so so good!
Hi Linda, I had the same thing with G. Leger - there was a month or so when I was about 80% done with it and just didn't put any stitches in and I think part of it was not being ready to finish it because I was enjoying the process. But then I realized it meant I could start more things....
Thank you so much! I'd love to see your start and the colors you choose. I know that there are a few color conversions out there that are really pretty. : )
Letterman! 🤣 I love it. Appreciating the beautiful samplers stitched so long ago is in no way diminished by adding personal motifs that matter to you. I like to think those stitchers of the past would have loved it. Hope to meet you at Stitch con if I make it in & am there on your weekend. You’re one of my favorite enablers.
Hi Mary! I've got my fingers crossed for StitchCon, looking forward to finding out if I get to go and hoping all is safe and good to go by then. It would be so fun to get to meet lots of you in person. : )
Thank you so much for all your kind words about me and my stitching! We would absolutely hang out and stitch together if we lived closer. I'm just going to have to plan a stitching road trip when COVID is over. Some of your people already popped over and said hello. They're so nice!! I love the T! The purpose of samplers was to help children learn letters, and that's what Letterman did! I love the samplers with the scenes, and the motifs would be awesome as separate pieces, too. Have an awesome week!
Hi Kristi! Of course, and I'm so happy to hear that more people are getting to see your beautiful pieces and getting to know you. So fun!! Happy stitching (and I am ALL OVER a road trip when it's safe to do so).
I love your floss drop board!!!! What an awesome idea 💡 that tiny tricycle is do die for. 😀😀😀. And your primitive hare finish is amazing and I loved your explanation of the linen her company offers.
OMG! How do you remember all of those details about the Electric Company! I remembered after you said it but I was slackjawed and gobsmacked! 😳😳😳🤣🤣🤣 I’m lucky if I can recall what I ate for lunch….😉😊 Thanks for the flash back… Lori
Wow the G Leger looks amazing! I am also working on Louise Lallier and I also changed the main alphabet to dark brown with vivid rosebush colored vines around it. It is definitely going to take a few years to finish!
G. Leger looks stunning. I was just at Pikes Place market, so enjoyed the history of the area. I love birds of a feather designs, you’ve got some nice ones. Thanks for another enjoyable video. ❤️Susan
Hi Susan! Seattle has some really cool spots with odd history. And I love Birds of a Feather charts, I need to start a few more. I'm almost done with Sally Spencer so I'm trying to pick one to start next.
Forgot to mention it when I commented earlier... isn’t that a line from Funny Farm! Those poor delivery truck guys!😂 “If I was going to Redbed I sure wouldn’t start from here...” 😆
OMG! When you first said you had taken liberty with your sampler, I immediately thought the bee was a tricycle! You should definitely sign your pieces with a tricycle! I love being enabled so go forth and purchase. LOL I am going to have to get in on Mr Bones. Your necklace is an awesome piece! Stay safe.
A tricycle signature is such a great idea. I've been using a tiny over one lower case 'j' on some pieces but I will have to look for or chart a little trike and see how that looks. Love it.
Happy anniversary, and thank you for another great video! I loved hearing the story behind the cross/T in G Leger. I gasped when I saw the horse, my favorite tv show as a kid was "the adventures of the Black Stallion". 😅
That's the reaction I had when Kyle (Stitching In Sound) showed the horse chart on his kit parade video. Have you seen The Black Stallion movie? It's still so gorgeous to watch, and the sound track is amazing. In my top 5 favorite movie list for sure.
@@trixietricycle I don't remember watching the movie but then I looked it up on RUclips and it does look familiar... I will add it to my list of movies to watch! :)
Always have such fun watching you. I love how you intermingled the sections to tell your stories. So many pretty things. Your framed sampler (please don't ask me to spell it lol) is stunning and such a wonderful personalisation. X
Jodi, your G.Leger is so gorgeous! Tell me about those oh so darling green lights behind you. I think I NEED something like them (speaking of enabling). I love them. Another super video. Can't wait for more and am going to make one of your project bags today.😘
Thanks Peg! The lights are a carefully crafted illusion lol. They are actually three green glass cylinder vases with little copper wire led lights inside. The lights have a tiny built in battery but they last for many hours so I've had the same ones for ages. Let me know how the bag construction goes! : )
I JUST heard about you, and have wanted to comment on every video! You are amazing, can’t believe you have only been stitching for a year! Talk about enabling…have you found Nitka Moscow for exclusive chart kits? You have to have every one, I DO!!
Hi Vicki! I have seen the Nitka Moscow kits, they're gorgeous and I'm trying very hard to keep that can of worms shut. LOL - Thanks so much for joining this little corner of FlossTube, I appreciate it!
I loved it all. So very interesting! Loved hearing about the sort of spooky historical house. And about the Electric Company. Your finish is lovely, and how nice that you are using that vintage thread. Why waste it? Thank you. Also a great way to send your floss cards more economically.
Hi Jodi! So many good things I don't even know where to begin:) Your G Leger is gorgeous! The necklace is so cool!!! Did you wear it on your first flosstube? I feel like I have admired it before and now the story makes it even better! The large project roll with the applique is so perfect...the design and the practicality of it. So much fun to spend time with you today:)
Hi Jenni! Thanks so much for watching! I think I have worn it in an earlier episode or two but it is usually out of frame (my camera placement is a bit odd, isn't it lol). I'm really happy with how the project roll/fold turned out but it is really big. I'm thinking about handle options...
@@trixietricycle I love your camera placement because I can see you, your work perfectly and I LOVE seeing how you change up the background! It is always so creative and well done!
I used 'Haunted' by Picture This Plus, but subsequent pieces of the same fabric I have purchased have been more blue in tone. The piece I used was a green tone.
😍🌻🐝🌻🐝 @crazybandladystitches Thank you for the shout out. I love my bags. I need to make a few more. I think I need a higher weight of vinyl. The scissor fob is cute. What week did you put in for StitchCon? I put in for week 1. Your FFO's look amazing! I LOVED Joan Rivers!! I watched Letter man. Too funny. Cool you got to meet other Stitchers at the quilt shop. I need to get that busy Bee 🐝 chart ❤
Hi Xan! I used 16 gauge vinyl from JoAnn fabric and then used a fusible fleece to give it some structure. They are a bit floppy with just regular fusible interfacing. I'm looking forward to October to find out if I get to attend StitchCon, how fun would it be if we ended up both getting to go and both on the same weekend?
Hi Jody! Thank you for the recommendation to Kristi’s corner, I will have to check her out; she sounds awesome. I love your necklace. I love polished stone, and that totally looks like one. What a cool find. I love re-purposed things also. Your G Leger is fabulous! Congrats on the finish of such a large piece. You showed this one on your first flosstube. Happy one year anniversary of stitching! I have a question… How many charts do you own, now that you have been stitching 🧵 for a year? I have a feeling you could rival my obsessive collecting of charts! Another question, when are we going to see these dogs whose wagging tails and smelly farts we have encountered on your show? I don’t think you have ever showed them, have you? We should get some video or at least some photo inserts of the pups, please. Thanks always for your history lessons and your vintage treasure sharing. I thought you were pointing out that little red bee 🐝 on your stitching, but maybe you were pointing out the diner sign? The Diner sign is totally awesome. And are you now signing all of your pieces with a Bee? That would be cool. Your trip to the quilting store with Susan Stanley and the kindred Stitcher left me feeling quite envious. Lucky 🍀 you! 😄
Hi Padma! Kristi is awesome, I think you'll really enjoy the things that she shares on her channel. The wagging tail was quite a show stopper (literally LOL). The chart collecting is definitely a separate activity, isn't it? We'll have to compare notes at some point. And yes, I was pointing out the diner sign - it did look like I was pointing at the bee, but the bee is actually charted. Thanks so much for watching, it's great to have you here. : )
I loved The Electronic Company too as a kid. Do you remember that Morgan Freeman and Rita Moreno were a couple of the actors on that show?!?!? How cool is that? Where did you get the reflects de soie silk sets? Oh, yeah, great stitching, BTW. 😬
Hi Melisa! There were so many actors that got started on PBS shows in the '70s. I got the silk sets from Kitten Stitcher. I believe they are put together by Reflets de Soie and then offered as sets for resale.
Okay! Love love love your intro but I do feel your dad as the artist, should be named. I’m sure he has an identity other than being your dad. I don’t mean to be mean at all but as an older person, this happens to us all the time. And it kind of makes you feel nullified. 😕
Cassandra, I appreciate this comment very much. You are right that age and nullification are an insidious duo and I certainly don’t want to perpetuate that. I work hard to balance the fact that I have a presence on social media with protecting the privacy of my family members. It’s why I don’t share details about my job, or my last name, or the names of my parents. I am an ardent fan and ferocious defender of my dad; trust me when I say that he knows it. I hope that helps, and thank you again for the thoughtful message.

@@trixietricycle which means...finding the fabric in a shop because doing so online isn't going to be accurate enough...
HEY YOU GUYS!!!! [Electric Company 😎😊]
Exactly!!! 😆
@@trixietricycle yes! 🙏🤞
Where can I get the G Leger?
Hi Darlene! The chart is by Reflets de Soie, and is readily available from a number of needlework shops; I bought mine online from The Silver Needle.

@@trixietricycle You are so welcome and I didn’t think of privacy! That is important too. 😁
