Thank you Washington I'm the Philadelphia Eagles fan and we don't need this guy as the 16th overall pick. We need this guy as the number three guy in our room. All we need him for is to make sure AJ and Smitty gets one-on-one looks and the rest will be history. If he puts up numbers like he did with Washington this is a grand slam home run for us. That 50 catches and 500 yards and a couple touchdowns for a number two is horrible. That's like saying Smitty would do that for the Eagles That's not acceptable but if this guy does that for us for the Eagles that's the grand slam and we will go to the NFC championship. Thank you Washington
You hit right on it, he will thin out the field for all receivers by forcing coverage problems. This trade truly unlocks Moore's playbook to the max and with all the talent on Philadelphia's offense it should be a sight to behold.
He isn’t even the 3rd option on Philly. Goedert is option 3, check down to Barkley option 4! No he is a change of pace always open guy when against safeties and linebackers. Biggest upgrade the Birds have had at WR3 in years
I think the bottom line is that his talent and production didn't justify his lack of effort, attitude, body language, and unwillingness to be a physical blocker. This isn't rocket science. They think one of the other guys on the roster can do a better or equally good job, at a lower salary, and get a 3rd rounder back.
I read several reports that Jahan’s Mother was losing her battle with cancer. Jahan has always been close to his Mom. I remember 2 years he dedicated and wore pink cleats during NFL Cancer Week celebration for his Mom’s cancer struggles. We don’t know what Jahan is going through. Going to Philly allows him to be 2 hours from his Mom. We saw him play as a rookie and score seven TDs. He can definitely play. To doubt his abilities now and finding out he has more pressing things than football on his mind like the declining health of his Mom is insensitive. Santana stepped out and showed his support of Jahan on this interview. He said Jahan still has “the dog in him” and we will see that soon. “The Kid can still play”. “I’m not going to sit here and say the Kid didn’t want to”. “The sky is the limit for Jahan in Philly”. I hate it when local sports analysts who have witnessed Jahan successes are ready to trash him and doubt his abilities. Santana thanks for being in Jahan’s corner. Jahan we will be praying for you and your Mom’s successful. recovery.
@@EarnestSmith-jm8qv that's pretty deep. Most of us are just seeing what's on the field. But I trust AP and DQ to know the difference between a kid struggling with real life issues and someone who isn't giving it their all or performing up to par.

@@EarnestSmith-jm8qv I believe you. I'm just saying that this is a tough business and GMs have to make a decision based off what they see out on the film and on the practice field. @@x27off he is a solid route runner and that is all Philadelphia needed for Moore's route tree designs. This was really bad trade, he is not going to be the same up in Philly and you face him twice a year.
Washington just gave Kellen Moore, one of the best route tree designers in football, first round pick Jahan Dotson, one of the best route runners currently in the NFL, to join A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, one of the best WR duos in Eagles history. Its basically the dream trade Moore needed to open up his pass game schemes to the max. You might be right. The eagles think so. That's why they traded for him. However it didn't look like he was going to be that useful for us. No point in holding on to an asset that is of no use to you and will only depreciate over time. Gotta get what you can while you can. @@303Smilezzz No hope about it, its a mathematical certainty no matter what happened in Washington. He is under Moore's system now, surrounded by mega talent, no comparison to the limited, inconsistent, situation he had with the Commanders. Just by running Moore's route trees he opens up the field for all the other talent by pulling coverage and he is a great route runner that will need attention. Nobody can cover all of what Moore can throw at them with Dotson on the field, somebody is going to be in an advantageous situation that Moore will expose and pounce on, its what he does. Dotson will have massive impact without ever catching a ball or throwing decent block, but he will get open more than he ever would in Washington. Its too much to cover, almost impossible, and no comparison to Washington's system. I honestly feel this trade is going to have tremendous implications totally eliminating that basic, predictable, offensive mess Philadelphia was running last year. If it works as it should the NFC is so screwed.
Yeah, I would have been very happy if I was you... Up until the point we found out Dotson threw a temper tantrum like a child because we brought in another receiver. A bottom of the roster WR who probably won't make the team anyway. I think DQ wanted him to succeed. Giving him some tough love to get him there. However, he folded under the pressure. Before that, I would have been really upset about this trade (as a skins fan).
Not so bold prediction. This time next year we’re talking about how moving on from Jahan opened the door for Luke Mc and Sinnot to get more targets which let’s be real here. If those two guys turn out to be studs AP is a genius.
