Hi Taj, I have an issue with a handbrake warning light that will not reset on my V250 and the handbrake would not come on. I have since replaced the disc, pads and shoes and found the handbrake lever on the end of the cables seized but easily fixed and lubricated them. In handbrake replacement mode it was possible to put the handbrake on and off. Taking it out of pad replacement mode the handbrake does not come on and there is still a warning light up. I don't think there is anything physically wrong now but don't know how to reset this warning light. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! Kenny
Ok I think that’s because either your door is open while selecting so make sure all doors are closed and switch ignition ON select neutral and the. switch ignition OFF or leave ignition ON while towing. Hope this helps
Hi unfortunately you won’t be able to do it through steering but only by Diagnosic equipment 2005-2009 and with regards to replacing the pads you don’t not diagnostic mode as it has separate shoes for handbrake. Unless you wanna change the shoes then you will need diagnostic tool.
Emergency release The emergency release tool is located in the luggage compartment. To release the EPB: Ensure automatic transmission in 'P'. Chock rear wheels. Open fuel filler flap. Remove protective cap from emergency release cable Fig. 113739.1 . Fit emergency release tool in clockwise direction until fully engaged with emergency release cable Fig. 113739.2 . Firmly pull emergency release tool Fig. 113739.2 . The red EPB warning lamp in the instrument panel will flash and a message will be displayed in the multifunction display. The EPB actuator will automatically be reset when the EPB switch is next operated.
Hi the pads and discs have been replaced now the parking brake screeching and failing regularly. Garage had car and they had to redo it once because of EPB failing. So a menu reset or through diagnostic tool? (They don’t have star diagnostics I know that).
@@akumass1 hi if they forced it then you might have serious problem because to remove the disc you need to adjust the shoes through the bolt hole but it’s only possible when the handbrake is deactivated through diagnostic or emergency release. Try using diagnostic tool because steering feature not available for this model. Thanks

i have a 2008 acura tl. everytime i turn the AC on it makes a sound. kind of like a paint can bottle rattle when shaken. Also the same sound comes on while i press the gas pedal. the loudest is when i turn on the AC. any idea what it could be?

Hi mate I got the alloys changed on my cla and the orange handbrake light has been on ever since. The guy said the sensor might’ve got pushed out of place. Should I try this?
Hi the orange handbrake can not be disturbed while replacing wheels so I would try this procedure and if it doesn't work then have it plugged in at your local garage. Also check the tyres and see if you have wider tyres on the back like some Mercedes do. Check the brake pads and brake fluids level make sure they're good too. Thanks

Good question. Short answer, no, you need to do a full release. I've had to do this on a few Audis. My understanding is the auto parking brake system moves along with the worn pads and rotor. So it releases say 1/8 of an inch from rotors. But with worn pads and rotors, the gap is not enough to fit in the new pads and rotors, which are of course thicker. At least this is my novice understanding.

Got a fault on my infiniti q30, emergency brake inoperative. Any ideas how to reset this? Dash is the same layout as this mercedes.
Hi if it’s inoperative then there is an issue so I would suggest you have it checked possibly might only need resetting..

If the compressor pulley bearings are failing, they can make noises, generally a grinding, roaring or squealing noise. So I would get that checked
any ideeas about rear camera? doesnt start when i put the car on R gear

Why don't you pump the brakes before you reset the handbrake ?
