Diaz the highest paid reliever in baseball!!! He Had a great season three years ago! Got paid, miss all of last year and then this year hes straight garbage!! But he still gets paid and we continue to suffer!!! Its over , its september!! The time of year when the mets are brilliant at collapsing and folding like a book!!! Time to focus on football because the mets ain t going no where but home, like always!!!!

starting to look more and more like Diaz put on a great show in 2022 to get the contract. I despise players who do this. It happens way too often in baseball for my liking.
Players need to be paid on a year to year tier based system. Best at each position that season gets paid X and lowest performers gets paid Y. Simple. Year to year and compete for the highest pay. Flat salary and adjust in season by stats. Simple and fair and fans get actual competition all year every year.
That's the nail in the coffin. Bad loss second one on the road trip. We walk to many people and are not good enough. Good season they got us to football season. Don't matter anyway the braves don't lose!!

Very SIMPLE....Diaz is employed, and compensated to the tune of $20 mil/PER to bring letter high heat @ 97 - 99 mph on demand...That is his SOLE reason to exist on any MLB roster...PERIOD....!! Yet, facing Perdomo, he insists on throwing junk which misses by an indisputable margin for clear Balls...Having had Perdomo on a two strike count he had 2 opportunities to bring letter high heat and put him away...BUT NO...then serving up the absolute hanging MEATBALL to light up Corbin Carroll's eyes for a 430ft+ JACK

It's tougher to come from behind because you can't lose, you must win every game even because in front of you the other teams win but you must be mentally strong enough to deal with this kind of pressure but the Mets are not the team can deal with this kind of pressure and we see they struggle every season without reaching the minimum target the playoffs
Diaz might go down as one of the worst contract in Mets history
I was there and I was at Miami on May 17th, and I am officially done following the team for this year.
Diaz is the prime example of why you don’t give a closer a guaranteed multi-year contract.
When an avg player gets one, there’s very often a drop off in performance… because the dude no longer has to fight for his cash.
Of course, many of those guys have so much pride that they stay a prime performer, despite the new financial security.
But Diaz clearly can’t handle his recovery from injury, and his lack of confidence.
But as he’s heading to sleep last nite, I’m sure he had a slight smile knowing he has no financial worries despite horrendous performance.
There are players and there are 'players.' The tough part is determining which are the right ones to pay and which are the ones to let go.
Diaz has been out of the circle of trust all season, no reason you need to pull Maton, I knew the game was over when I saw the camera cut to Mendoza about to walk out. Abysmal.
He should have left Maton in. Maton after the walk got 2 outs Why take him out there. If he gives up another base runner, then put in Diaz.

Worst loss? I watched many of these loss in Mets history. I couldn't say if the worst, to be honest, it could be the end of the rush to the playoffs even because the Braves win and when they lose, not often, the Mets do the same.

This devastating loss was on both MENDOZA for taking out MATON out of the game with two outs in the bottom of the eight inning and on DIAZ, who came in wild and gave up a grand slam. I'm the only fan who has said that this seroes with ARIZONA would show if the METS were true contenders. After this loss,PRETENDERS!! MENDOZA and DIAZ put the nail on the METS' coffin. After ARIZONA, the METS go to chicago like a bunch of defeated deadbeats. WHO KNOWS? THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING THEY MIGHT BE SWEPT BY THE LOWLY WHITE SOX.
