Love your products and your videos on how to use them. I especially like the short videos that are packed with “basic” information and techniques (like this one). They open a plethora of creative possibilities for me. So many possibilities = so much fun! ❤
Man golden does everything. I swear I'll never go back to liquitex. Especially since I had gotten liquitex gouache and it 100% was not opaque and not matte.
We like the Lascaux Fixative - it has a nice spray mechanism that allows a nice thin even coat without affecting the color too much. That being said, there are many fixatives on the market, so test them out and see if one works better for you than another! We have had some good results with Prismacolor Matte Fixative as well! Hello! If you want to use one of these suggested acrylic surface preparations on paper for your sketchbook we recommend 246 lb or heavier watercolor paper or acrylic paper. Lighter weight paper may buckle when applying one of the acrylic grounds. Here is an article that demonstrates how various papers react to acrylic products: justpaint.org/paper-warping-when-painting-with-acrylics
Depending upon your needs you may still want to fix PanPastel. The Pastel Ground helps provide a toothy surface that can help hold onto PanPastel, but it will still be vulnerable to smudging or lifting if you make contact with the pastel surface. The Lascaux Fixative is a great option in our testing to spray over PanPastel and fix it to the surface. If you intend to frame behind glass, you can create some space behind the frame glass and not fix, but there can be static sometimes, so fixing may be a good option as well in that scenario. We hope this helps! Let us know if you have questions by emailing help@goldenpaints.com.
Hello again. I messaged at your link below, but haven't heard from anyone at product support yet. Can anyone tell me if I can archivally use oil paint over your micaceous iron oxide self-leveling color-pouring surface? Thanks.

If you use pan pastels over the pastel ground, do you still need to 'fix' the final creation?
