I am starting out totally clueless so I am sure it will be a grand adventure! Follow along on my channel if you want to see DIY projects, renovating a house on a budget, and I am sure a lot of craziness along the way! I'm just a girl with a drill and a dream.

There are a lot of comments asking why the old wood wasn't saved. This is clearly a family with great respect for timber and wood. Abbys Dad is a logger and runs a sawmill. I'm sure they gave considerable thought to what was practical to save.I trust that with their first hand evaluation of the material they made the right decision.
Yes, a lot of that old wood had long black streaks running through it where water had been leaking for years. I noticed some of the beams had a few feet of maybe decent wood in the center but crumbling on the ends. Ash makes good yard soil.
I agree.
Your Home. Thank You, for taking us along with you on this adventure.
Just remember the farther back the garage, the more snow you shovel.
I saw an old door on the part that was demolished and felt sad for that door. It could have enjoyed a repurposed life! 😳❤️🎶👏🇨🇦
It is
In a landfill
People do what they can
It looked pretty bad. So much of it looked pretty bad.
Great move taking that addition off . The original house will be a great start. Have your dad teach you how to run the equipment and save your back moving the rock. Keep up the good work !
Abby, remember to lift with your legs, NOT your back !! Those were some LARGE and HEAVY blocks you were moving !!
Love all those flat rocks.
Woman you rock with rocks! The eventual patio is going to be gorgeous. Thank you for letting us follow your dream by making these videos. Quite the transformation already.
You’re Dad can do anything !!
Abby I think your parents are your 2 biggest supporters, you and Trudy are such wonderful daughters I can see why they don't mind helping out.
Wow! Hard work lifting those stones!
Wow. Doesn’t even look like the same house. Hahaha. 😃
I am at an age where I no longer get excited or have great enthusiasm anymore. It is very refreshing to watch youthful excitement for your project, thank you. Glad you are having this wonderful experience.
So glad someone found some love in that old wood
Yes, Abby's friend that harvested the wood, I Salute him. He deserves to to recognized as a good guy. I reclaim lumber in Alaska as well as make new. (Log) Reclaiming wood can be hard dangerous work.. lots of work goes in for what you yield sometimes..Also timing is very critical, I would have worked with Jim and Abby and harvested alot of that wood but New York is a long way from Alaska, ah ha.😄, it was hard to watch in a way, but I understand and folks have to realize that Abby has her hands full with just saving the house, now she can focus on the house and the problems the other buildings presented is now gone. You have to keep moving and progressing, the reclaimer has to come in and be invisible to Jim and help not hinder. This is what I do , or one hat I wear, as a 1st growth lumber reclaimer, it is hard work and a unique skill and passion. Keep going Abby, if you feel torn in 2 directions, that's good because you have heart, but keep going honey. ..
It might not be the right way but its "Your Way" your the Owner and you are paying the bills, Keep Rock'n and Roll'n.
Aww thank you mom and dad for helping your wonderful daughter ❤
Looking Good! Glad to see the fuel tank off the porch!
That is an amazing porch!
Looks terrific. I'll bet your Dad enjoyed doing the demo. It was like watching a hungry T Rex. You're right about bending the knees. You only get one back and it has to last you a lifetime. I was a can do woman in my thirties lifting sinks, toilets, doors and landscaping. I wasn't as careful as I should have been. Dont be afraid to ask for help with the heavy stuff.
Well, little Abbie is going to be a very strong lass by the time that this project ends. (Or perhaps it will never end; Abbie will always find another improvement to do)
What a big and great difference. 😁
Boy, that is hard, hard work honey.
awesome'thank's.
House looks cute with addition removed
Your dad not only knows how to handle the horses well but also the excavator 😁Have a great weekend! -Chris
You lucky lady. Jim and Seth sure do good work.❤
It’s good to have a daddy with not only horses
The way you were hauling those rocks around - you are some superwoman, Abby!!
Thank you Seth for all those awesome camera angles. It looks like Jim is having loads of fun in the excavator. Great progress. I hope nobody is stiff and sore in the morning.
Cuddos to your mom and dad for all the help they've given you!
You keep doing you and your decision are yours. God bless you, Your an inspiration to more people than you know. Prayers for you.
Dad did a nice job of taking down the shed. Going to look really nice once you get it all leveled out. Thanks for the update.
I love those big flat stones 😁👍👍❤️
You are so blessed to have a father with the equipment, skills and willingness to help you as you reach for your dreams, Abby! I am really enjoying watching all your videos on your fixer upper. Your vision for this old home is happening! Hugs and prayers from Hot Springs, Arkansas! God Bless!
♥️🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻♥️
Your Dad & Seth did an astonishing job. 😊
Nice work Abby.
It’s looking great. Love your family. Hard working people who love Jesus.
MAGNET a strong one , invest in one or if someone has one you can borrow. Magnet on wheels is the best . Lots of nails & small pieces of metal are laying all around. Flat tires will happen more than you would think. I’m sure your father knows what I’m talking about. Great job ! 👍👍
Life is even more of a breeze when you bend you knees walking to that excavator! 😄
All the best👍🇨🇦
Love the progress. Everything is looking better all the time. Kudos to your Mom and Dad for all their help and knowledge of machinery and willingness to help. Wow!
You're so right...it's the little things in life. The flat stones will look wonderful on your future patio!
Got to love the thumb on an excavator
Your dad is like a big pac man on that thing. Really knows his stuff!! Now you can move forward.
Your Dad is awesome. And you too. That was a big job. Really cool to watch. The results are looking great. 👍👍👍
Go to a nearby quarry and price out a pallet of those foundation stones. You'll be happy to see what a huge TREASURE you already have in your dooryard. Keep up the great work, with hugs from Maine!
Abby,
WOW, Girl, I'm lost for words I bet your Dad having fun!!
Looking great. Those stones ! I’d be in heaven with all those…
The footage from the roof was really fun to watch. Thank you to your friend. Jim knew just where to "bite" the walls to bring them down. Fun to watch. You have good help, Abby. A hard working gal is golden. You fit the bill. The house looks so different without the shed. I look forward to the next phase of your house project. 😊😊😊
I love those rocks!!! ❤️ A future garage would be ideal. Demolition is a mixed bag as you say goodbye to the old but look forward to the new! Plus a great workout!!! 😁❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶👏👏👏🇨🇦
Said very well.
You should be using the excavator to move all those flat rocks, it would go much faster and save on your back. And you could be stacking them nicely.🧡🧡🧡🧡
Love all the rocks! :)
For someone who doesn’t even know you, I can’t begin to explain how happy I am for you. I enjoy seeing the progress SO MUCH.
I liked your trip too but LOVING the house progression. ♥️❤️
Thanks for sharing and thank God for parents you sure have good ones
What a beautiful home, Abby. Great decision on the shed.
Exciting!
Abby, this is so exciting! I’m completely hooked on you and this adventure! I just can’t wait to see the final product. Just love and your family so much!!!
Wow! Thanks for sharing 👍🏼👍🏼
How exciting!
Itd looking good. I likevit with out the shed
The metal roof .. met great part under roof of porch or any other building project .
Jeepers that was exciting! I'm tired just watching all the rock moving. YUK I'm terrified of spiders!.
You are so lucky to have a Dad with the machinery to do so much for you. Love from Australia ❤
You aren’t afraid of work! Great to see. Must be that farmer girl in you.
Lol, i was sitting here thinking about the soiders and ants when she said that.
It is looking amazing and YOU? You're wonder woman! ☺️
No need to join the gym when you can throw big rocks around! You go, girl!
Thank you
Totally awesome your parents and friends helped assist with tear down. Too sad the building had to go.
Loving the wrap around porch
Good job Abby
Looks much nicer with shed gone. more progress!
In 1982 Peter was the fire lookout on the fire tower on top of Mt. Cardigan, NH. He was legally blind.
Adding a garage later would be nice in the winter months
I could certainly see a whole new wing added on to the house, coming off that corner that leads into the new living room. You could have a vestibule that connects to a new garage and master suite addition.
Will be amazing
You should use the mini excavator to pick them up and move them
Beautiful home. I love old houses like that
Hello from Georgia! It's looking great! I would keep the front door and do a walkway to it. Don't think it would look right without a front door. I'm a 73 year old widow and love watching the progress! Have always enjoyed renovations and even better on an old home! How wonderful your Dad and Mom can help so much!
My back, arms and legs are sore just watching you move those rocks! Super job with super help all around!
I absolutely love that limestone. I pick up rocks everywhere I go and have them placed all over my yard. I would love to have a stone house. My Aunt and Uncle had a beautiful house in Missouri when I was a kid, I will never forget. Seems like you could find a way to move those stones a little easier. Work smarter, not harder. A little engineering is in order.
Very interesting video of the tear down of the sheds … you are a hard worker Abby moving all those flat stones but it will all be worth in the end … good stuff 👍
Your dad is awesome. In order to be good at demolition one has to understand construction.
The house looks so much better without those sheds! Those stones and boulders are worth some bucks! I know you will find a lot of things to do with them. Gardening, fire pit, stone wall, etc. .Maybe you should invest in one of those belts for the back for lifting heavy stuff.
Dang girl, You got a work-out!
They used rocks a lot back in the day. My hubby says there used to be a REALLY big one here when the old house was here. This house was built in 1966 so the big rock disappeared back then.
I can hardly believe you took this on, but you are amazing with your drill and your dream!
Wow lots of progress the stones are going to make a beautiful patio
Thanks for sharing
Wow Dad made short work of that shed!!!Look at some of the material for ideas to use it for mantle, cabinet door etc.
I would totally wrap the sides of the patio with the stones. If there was enough it would be really cool to use them as the front porch floor seeing as a lot of the concrete has to come out for the sill plates to be replaced.
Looks to me like they took out the good wood that they wanted and the other wood is pretty rotten old house not built correctly on the sheds
Great progress...great parents.💕
Abby, you're an inspiration. Girl Power!!
Wow those stones are great! I imagine all the work that went into hewing them all those years ago. Might make some great steps too!
Really enjoyed watching this👍🏻😍
So proud of your hard work on those rocks!
Looks so awesome!👍🤗
Great progress. You'll sleep well after working those stones all day.
Looks good the stones will look lovely
Incredible watching the hungry T-Rex (Catherine Logan mentioned below)! I can picture a wrap around porch! Wow!
WOW...what a mass ....yes it would be a lot work to make it all worth...so just plan on what you wish it to be, cheaper and faster. Such a nice area it is, it will be worthy 😎
I am so excited to get to see the inside renovation 👍
Great job!
