So many great lessons here Peter. I like your point about needing to focus back on your publishing business after trying affiliate marketing and the other businesses. A great lesson in needing to focus on what works but also something you were able to learn practically. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for being so candid with your story Peter, I am 2 months into self publishing, and in the same position back against the sea so to speak. Your vision is inspiring, and you hit the nail on the head when you said about consuming as much as possible and it leading to being an expert. I'm doing exactly that every single day on my 2 hour commute back and forth. This time next year I will be full time and employing at least one staffer. Keep inspiring with your no bs content
Thank you so much for sharing your story! I joined your community in Skool. I’m glad to have found it via your RUclips videos. I appreciate all that you do to share your knowledge and help others like us 🤙🏽☺️ - come visit Maui for your vacation and let me know when you do so I can thank you in person.
Thank You for Your input!🙏 Well, there is the opposite side of working hard to get what You want...I had the priviledge to know a legend, back since '70s, within music industry...we're composing music sometime, & one day person said "There is no need for hard work and sweat!" 😳 I was often thinking about that expression "No sweat work", & for that person, there was a Success back in '70s, bringing millions in royalties over the years, for 2 songs.. For one of the songs, person got comments as "nobody will listen to this!!!", meaning, people around saying it was completely different then anything popular on charts, played att the time, but still, song ended up as #1 on many chartlists for many weeks!!! & one could also connect "no sweat work" with "go with the flow", that explained f ex my hearing melodies without my ego forcing anything like, I have to compose "what anybody likes to hear". In my case, while composing, I use to hear notes in my head, that I played on piano ( & I am not educated /trained in piano playing at all..). & last but not least, "what is ment for You, will never pass You by"... It is interresting when looking in the rearmirror, how ones ego thoughts affected ones life Path... in my case, I chose early on in my 20's, one of sidetracks/"parallel Streets", of my lifepath, & instead of following that vague voice of my Soul, I listened to the loud voice of my Ego: family life before music...music came later, in my 50s.... Anyhow, I sure do understand that it is probably more tricky with books, since not all books are selling well, as well as not all music is bringing in millions...🤔🤷 Being truthful to one self, is what counts in long run..Good luck with all You do! 🙏🕊️
That's interesting, Helen. When you're passionate about something, what might be considered hard work for others can feel like an interesting challenge to you; at least, that's been my experience with a part of my publishing journey. Cold calling without colleagues around, not so much. I appreciate your comment, as always!
It depends on the day; currently, I wake up at 4 a.m., work on a project for 4 hours, and then do other publishing tasks (e.g., descriptions, emails, cover selection, book tracking, etc.). Could be worth a video!
Awesome video! How does studying in university give you money to fund the business? Were you getting support from the gov since you were a student and you used that money to pay your living expenses?
Peter, you're such a warrior!
Very motivating story! Great advice
Thank you very much, Tim!

I greatly appreciate your comment, Jonathan. That's a great use of time: turning the commutes into a university for self-education. Will do.

whats your daily routine? what kind of publishing tasks do you do each day?

@@peterholmquist Yes thanks that would be super helpful!

Thank you. Yes, you get a bit of support when studying but mostly it was student loans.
Could you please funnel hack some successful level 4 self publishing brands.
That's a great video idea, I have taken notes.
