ik this is an old comment but if I had to guess there's a limiter on master with the gain set so that the song peaks higher than the limit, so the volume goes down when the loudest instruments (like the 808 or kicks) hit and it makes room similar to a side chain except there isn't a specific instrument sidechained, that's just what I got from hearing it but yeah :)
