Hi Alex Great video we have been to most of the Islands we find Majorca is our favourite Island Santa ponsa is where we stay we find it so peaceful and the people are so friendly and always welcoming when are you back there . Looking forward to your next video .
It’s a lovely cove calla egos. Really beautiful looking out to sea. The Costa Azul hotel on the paseo Maritimo in Palma has an indoor pool with a retractable roof for when it’s hot weather. Thanks Alex.
Hi Alex. Great video as always. We stopped in Cala bona last year and this year tried the Rocamarina in Cala egos for a change of resort. As much as we loved our holiday it’s back to Cala bona next year. Just personal preference really but we thought Cala bona was so much nicer. Hope to be seeing more of your upcoming videos of that resort
Cheers I’m off to Cala d or in two weeks . Thankyou for the info. Looking forward to seeing Cala mondrago . One of the best beaches on the island. Cheers about the bus stop will look up market
What an absolutely gorgeous place. It’s so strange that one beach is red flagged and just round the corner the other one isn’t and not life guarded. You are truly getting famous now with all these human selfie sticks 😂😂
I know Tommy, there is a fine line (or a few metres) between good and bad water. Very strange. And lol, thanks. I can't believe I left my stick at home! So many nice people around though.
We lived for 35 years in Cala d’Or , our villa was 1st line in the cala. It used to be wonderful but after the marina was built and got so big, we were quite often swimming with poo in the water….be careful .
Thank you Alex for showing the beach in detail at des Pou. We arrive tomorrow and I believe we can cut through the beach club from our Hotel Rocomarina. I’m disappointed we have to pay extra to use the club pool but the Hotel answered my email regarding this 😒 Weather here not looking good for our early flight out from Bristol. Keep Vlogging 👏👏👏👏❤️🐸
Hello! You should be arriving about now! Have a wonderful holiday! I'm not sure if you can access the beach through the club. You should do. I didn't want to walk through with my camera. Even if you have to walk it's 3 minutes away. Have a Lovely holiday and let me know how it goes !!! x
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun thank you. All good so far. Not ventured to beach yet. Boy that was some storm yesterday but soon passed. The dropped curbs here are very poor compared to The Canaries. Not good for us with mobility aids. 🐸

Hello both. It is a lovely hotel in an amazing location and I would say May is one of the best times of year to visit before it gets busy. You will have a lovely time!
I wouldn’t go into the water with a red flag, however inviting it looked as I know some i who got very very sick recently after swimming unknowingly at the time in water with high levels of bacteria in it. Fab video Alex of a place that I am not familiar with.
we are coming over on the 9th to Porto Cristo worried about the weather we always go to the Canaries or Cyprus but had a Operation recently and wanted a shorter flight so changed our holiday to Majorca instead slightly worried now we have made a good choice 🙂
I've got my Mallorca in October vid coming soon. It's always hit and miss at this time of year. It is a lovely area of the island though. Hoping to have some content soon from there.
Good morning there, I hope you are well. We booked 7-10Oct 3 days stay in Magaluf, would you suggest hotel, attraction for us? we love loud and party but We don't want to rush. Btw, how's the temperature at the moment? Tia
Ive been to majorca for years never known a flag for poor water ? I personally think its another nail in the coffin to stop you from going ? Eg. Fingerprints being taken, credit card details? Hotel tax, non EU visa ? Retena scans ? Whats it all about , any suggestions????? O sorry its to keep you safe ?
I am here now and can confirm the weather comments. Its really mixed and the minute and was cold and rainy yesterday on thw south west. We have had cloudy days too. We normally come in september and this has been the most mixed bag of weather we have experienced this year. I came in June too and i will say the prices in some restaurants have gone up since then. I only know as i normally get the same dishes. But one place yeaterday the meal i had was 2 euros more expensive than june and in june it was 2 euros more expensive than the previous September They cant say its cost of living they are just taking the mickey out of tourists im afraid!! They must be raking it in as its probably the busiest i have seen for September. Best ask your government where the tourost tax is going 😊
Thank you so much for confirming all of this. Yes, this is the strangest September weatherwise I've experienced for a long time. As for the pricing - It's not exactly consistent throughout the Summer. Hhave a good rest of a holiday x
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun I don't mean to moan about prices. But like you we need to call it out when we see it happening. In one of the restauants at the magaluf end of palmanova prom (is it called something like calvia beach) they wanted to charge 19 euros for pasta arribiatta..which is just spicy sauce on pasta! it's the cheapest pasta to get! It's mad! go to be max and I think chicken paella is less than that! some places are still good value....archies being one...where I am going today for Sunday lunch
A couple of years back did ferry trip off ibiza and the ferry went past a huge sea of floating poos. 🤮 Gross. Was a fair distance off coast so either came from a large ship or was near an outfall pipe
A red flag for jellyfish swarms would be good. A few years ago in Ibiza at Portinatx a lot of stining jellyfish in sea and on beach. They are small and almost transparent and give a bad sting!
They do have a jelly fish flat when there's jellyfish in the water. You can see it in my news update and lateest Puerto Pollensa video warning of them!
I wouldn't swim in it 🤮 There's plenty of other beaches to choose from. The poor lifeguards dont get a choice if someone gets into trouble and they have to go out and help them!
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun Right, but who decides where the line is between polluted and acceptable? Like is one turd per swimming pools worth polluted, but half a turd is okay? People need to get over their sanitary fear. The sea is totally full of fish poo anyway.
I did notice how much green algae there is in that water Alex. Cause is heat and lack of oxygen. Nothing a big sponge filter cant sort. Just dont swallow. 🏊♂️
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun looks deceive Alex. It may look ok but it's the quality of the water that counts. My aquarium water looks nice when I siphon it into a bucket and squeeze out the filter. Only when I empty it do I see the quality.
I made some videos from the Cala d'Or area in the Summer. Not sure if I can get back this year at night (it's the opposite side to the island to where I live)
Hi, we went to cala st Vincente last week and the mosquitoes were quite bad, I went into the pharmacist there to get some repellent and after bite stuff, the woman behind the counter got a couple of things out and tried to charge me over a 100 euros, I walked out and went to one of the local shops and got both for less than 25 euros. Is the north of the island worse for Mosquitoes, I have been to Palma Nova before and had no problems with them at all.
we have not been bit this time in palmamova. we are hear now. But in june we were bitten badly and stayed here, port de soller and palma. its bad in most places on the island for various reasons.
How much?! Goodness me. Mossies are normally worse Alcudia / Pollensa way. I haven't been bitten up there this summer and I've mixed reports from viewers this Summer. Be prepared is always my answer.
I think less people would be in the sea if they knew that it was red flagged because of the water quality. Great little walk round the resort. 😊
I'm not so sure - people were swimming anyway...
Great video Alex and always informative always a 👍👍👍 from me
Thanks Ian!
Great video Alex. Cala Egos looks beautiful. Best wishes, John
Cheers Jon!

Those “fish massages” can be deadly. Theres been many limbs lost because of infections caused by those rabid animals.

Who gets to decide where the line is between safe, and unsafe, water quality?
Especially if someone wees in the sea .

The council runs water quality tests on bacteria levels I believe.
