If you are confused, DC comics exists as a fictional universe within the MCU, just like in ours and vice versa for Marvel in DC properties. That’s why the kid referenced Superman.
Also, the Marvel Comics HQ in New York City is right across the street from "The Distinguished Competition." Also, Ikaris has Superman's power-set.
I seriously hope ppl realize that and not assume that DC characters actually exist in the MCU

I believe it’s probably all the best scenes because most of these new editor’s are shit at their job and don’t understand Nuance.
I love the concept of an immortal found family. There's something special when people with no blood relation come together and choose to be there for each other as a family, but adding the immortal aspect just gives this trope more flavor. The idea that they can get angry at each other and leave each other for a long time, but since they are immortal they'll always end up coming back together because they are the only ones who will last forever like them. It just gives so much time room to play with the idea that these people have been alive for centuries and have been in the same family dynamic for just as long. Also semi-off topic subject(but I wouldn't be me if I didn't bring it up)I'M SO EXCITED FOR THE DEAF REPRESENTATION!!!!💖💖💖
It only makes sense that they look at each other as family. As you said, they are immortal. There's really no point hooking up with a human who can then be with them for a few decades and then grow old and die. You do that a few times, and any relationship with humans would just seem sad and pointless. They have only each other to rely on for being there now and thousands of years down the line.

Sersi hooks up with a history-professor (and soon-to-be superhero in his own right) named Dane Whitman (AKA The Black Knight), causing tension between her and her old flame Ikaris. And there's the matter of Phastos, who's been chillaxing among humans with a husband and a young son... a young son that Thena can't babysit now, because Phastos can't trust her to NOT show off her ability to conjure weapons from thin air. >w>
Remember, it's Phastos' kid that mistakes Ikaris for Superman... I mean, SOMEONE had to hang a lampshade over the fact that someone at Marvel Studios made a better Superman than DC/Warner Brothers...

@@DaZi19 Yup I was introduced the Old Guard after I went on a search to see if there were other movies that had the Immortal found family trope lit the eternals movie and I have to say I was not dissappointed.
Really love the new scenes here. I thought Druig was going to be the villain, but it looks like he's the most compassionate one. Or at least the one most willing to help humans with non-Deviant related problems.

For people wondering about why superman(a DC character) for being referenced in this movie. This is because DC exist in Marvel as fictional stories and vice versa. Star wars and the hobbit have been referenced in previous films like this, as well as many other popular films. This is no different. Superman is not a variant or a being from the marvel multiverse.
Even Dragon Ball was referenced in DC comics.

Watched it...LOVE it!!! Love the characters, love the diversity of the cast (on so many levels), and love the gray area, love that it is not some boring self-righteous light vs dark story. .... ABSOLUTELY LOVE Jolie as Thena..... can't get over the joke of the Stark brothers falling for a girl named Cercei.
It became a family Vs family story. I did not see that coming. It was a little heartbreaking but also awesome. ♥️🔥

Better than the comics... there, Gilgamesh is referred to as "The Forgotten One."
That is the legendary gate of Ishtar, the main entrance into the ancient city of Babylon. It was one of the original Wonders of Antiquity until it was replaced by the Lighthouse of Alexandria.

@@Heirozoist1412 They're both in the same city, and both were once considered Wonders. The Gate was dropped from the list only some time later and replaced by the Lighthouse which was obviously in Alexandria.

from what I've read, he's like the estranged cousin of the eternal family. So he'll likely start off as a villain/anti-hero but realign with the rest of the eternals by the end given what we've seen in promos

@@itsmecaldo Guardians was definitely the most game changing and the most unique of the marvel films. The whole 70s pop music in a space opera was very unique when that movie came out. Also had some of the best characters in awhile. My family's favorite MCU film is Black Panther but my favorite is still Guardians for that reason. but there are many that come very close to that spot. Guardians (the first film, not the second one) still has that special charm for me. e

Superman is a fictional character in the MCU. He isn't real in the marvel multiverse only in fictional stories. The same goes for star wars and the hobbit.

Henry Cavill is not Superman...he's just an actor. DC/WB have been rebooting (Batman) films for decades. Pretending that they will use any one actor for a projects beyond 3 films is rediculous. Thinking that they can come up with a live action storyline for Superman that doesnt include him fighting against humans and Krytonite is also rediculous.

I think this movie is gonna be the MCU's most Character driven film, versus all the past films where it's more Plot driven. "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" did really good balancing it though.

Just dont get your expectations high. Based on the YT reviewers that attended the red blue carpet premiere, this has very different formula compared to other MCU films. Its probably because of the new characters that would need more introduction than ever and setting up their own story
