Dehydration in Chickens :
Dehydration occurs when Poultry Birds don't have enough Fluids in their Body. Or whenever Chickens will use or lose more fluid than intake, They will face Dehydration. A Dehydrated Chicken Body doesn't have enough water and other Fluids to carry out normal functions.
Identification, Signs and Symptoms of a Dehydrated Chicken :
Lethargy
Excessive panting
Paleness in comb or wattles
Limpness
Diarrhoea
Unresponsive
Seizures
Weight Loss
Dehydration in Chickens can cause a whole host of problems. The biggest problem is of course, death. Dehydrated Chicken can take some time to bounce backs. They will slow down in their eggs production and possibly have some respiratory and digestive system issues. These are all things we can avoid, but taking proper care of our flocks.
How to Help a Dehydrated Chicken :
Start from dipping the Dehydrated Chicken's Beak into electrolyte mixed water.
Follow these guidelines to help / Recover / Treat Dehydration in Chickens :
1 = Multivitamins and Electrolytes
2 = Organic Essential Oil
3 = Prebiotics
4 = Probiotics

1 = Use Readymade Electrolytes and Multivitamins or Homemade Electrolytes and Multivitamins or alternatively Milk or Vegetables or Baking Soda
2 = Buy Organic Essential Oil from nearby Vet clinic and Use as Feed additive or as Water Supplement or alternatively Use Cinnamon or Lemon
3 = Use Garlic or Onion as Prebiotics
4 = Use Yogurt as Probiotics

Add All these in a Plastic Bowl and Thoroughly Mix in 05 Litres of Drinking Water. Electrolytes are Ready to Use. Use at 1:4 Twice a Month or 4 times a Month Depending upon Weather for 06 to 08 hours a Day.
Electrolytes are required for keeping Chickens healthy in Hot Summer Months.
Baking Soda :
Mild Dehydration
2 % Solution of Backing Soda
For Severely Sick Chickens due to Dehydration :
One Cup Backing Soda Per 04 Ltr DW
04 Teaspoon Of Backing Soda Per 02 Ltr DW
02 Teaspoon of Backing Soda Per 01 Ltr DW
Organic Essential Oil :
@ 05 ml or 01 Teaspoon per kg feed
Cinnamon :
Use One Teaspoon of Cinnamon per Kg Chicken Feed for 04 continuous Days Per Month & Half Teaspoon as Water Supplement.
Lemon :
Use Lemon Extract
02 ml / Litre of Fresh and Clean Drinking Water.
Onion :
05 g Onion Extract in 01 Litre of Fresh and Clean Drinking Water or in 01 kg feed
Yogurt :
10 grams of Yogurt Per Kg Feed For Five Consecutive Days Per Month.
