    This didn't look like a rigged game to me. The Timberwolves doubled Jokic more forcing the others to step up but they were not making open shots. That 24-0 run the Timberwolves went on in the 4th set the tone for the rest of the game and they never let up. They lost three straight and were not about to give this game up. This series has been exhilarating and thrilling to watch. Game 5 Jokic was incredible but they didn't let him have his way this time. They used the same strategy that they used in game 2 without Rudy. You see Rudy was on the bench when they went on that 24-0 run.

    • @dmichael100
      @dmichael100 26 дней назад

      The idea about rigged games is simply ridiculous. I've been following the NBA closely since the 70s. Only those who love drama and are searching for conspiracies under every rock find them and they have to ignore so much of NBA history.
      There have been so many 4-0 sweeps or 4-1 series in which the NBA and their TV partners lost hundreds of thousands of dollars by not having another game or two.
      In 1999, the Spurs- a small market team with little national following at the time and a star with no personality (Tim Duncan) swept the Lakers 4-0 in the West semis and beat the Knicks 4-1 in the Finals. Do you have any idea how much the league would have wanted the Los Angeles and New York markets to win some more games? If anyone was EVER going to influence a game it would have been then. There was little national interest in the Spurs.
      I could list a dozen other obvious similar situations. (1979 two exciting stars- Westphal and Gervin had their teams up 3-1 or 3-2. Both lost and the league got Seattle and Washington again). There is absolutely NOTHING to the rigged game theories. Too many people would have to be involved to pull off something like that. A lot of people want there to be conspiracies and aliens to make their life more interesting. Most of the time, the truth is far more boring.

    Unfortunately, this series is a microcosm of an issue with the NBA where you live or die by the 3. That's why most games are blowouts, and the swings can seem confusing. Nuggets couldn't hit a shot, and just let off the gas. Next game they'll hit shots and play completely different. It's not healthy for the game of basketball to basically see if your team can hit their 3's to determine if the game is even worth watching.

    It's actually pretty simple to read this series. If Murray and MPJ make their shots, Denver wins, if they don't they lose. It's not fair on Jokic to demand a 40 points triple double every game. The Wolves took a gamble last night, they double teamed Jokic and let the open man shoot and it worked cause the Nuggets bricked everything they threw up. The Wolves are gonna double team Jokic again, and if Murray, MPJ, Gordon and KCP make their shots they're screwed, if they don't they'll win.

      Lets say they do double team jokic. One of those other guys mpj or Murray would still need a 35-40+ monster of a game to win and that's assuming the wolves are not hitting their shots.

      2016 Steph at home win vs OKC

      2013 x 2 Lebron home vs pacers home vs spurs win
      2012 Lebron home vs Celtics win
      2007 x 2 Nash vs Lakers at home win and home cap clippers win
      2004 Garnett home vs kings win
      2001 x 2 AI home vs bucks win home vs raptors win
      2000 Shaq vs Portland at home win
      1998 Jordan vs pacers at home win.

  • @BillPlain1
    @BillPlain1 28 дней назад +2

    Stop it with the Edwards/Jordan comparisons. It is a ridiculous discussion, he isn't even close to what Jordan was, even early on, as Jordan won a series against the Cavs, by himself. That is not what is happening here. Edwards has plenty of help, he is just elevating his team in a way Jokic, Brunson, Doncic are elevating their respective teams. He isn't dropping 40 a night, every night. He is, at times, the most dominant player on the floor, but not every night. He is playing great defense, but he is not completely locking Murray up by himself, every game.
    Jordan was different, which is why his name is along side Kareem and LeBron in the G.O.A.T. conversation. Edwards has a very long way to go to even sniff that company.
    How about we just let the young man attempt to win a game seven, and get to the western conference finals before making any more comparisons to a top three player of all time, shall we?
    Hyperbole is now ESPN's only brand of sports news entertainment, and it has become tiresome to listen to.
